ShadowEdogawa Ed laughed as the reptilian bard swept her up and spun around, and in turn she clung to him to avoid being tossed away. She suddenly felt extraordinarily exuberant now that an old friend had resurfaced from the shadows of forgotten memories. When she felt her feet touch the ground again, the girl stepped back and grinned up at Ganon, nearly tripping over herself because of the spiked boots catching to the earth. "Ages is right. I've been a lot better these days! Well, in a lot more danger too, but you know." She dismissively waved that detail off. "How about you? I see you're still with the musical elements." She clasped her hands behind herself and cocked her head. Ganon laughed! "Of course I am! What, you think I'd ever give that up? Looks like you're eating better," he added playfully, prodding her side. "Or... is that muscle I feel there?" He grabbed her arm and squeezed gently, then laughed! "My my... come on, have a seat. Hopefully we'll have a few more old friends come by soon, eh?" He ruffled the swordschimera's hair, chuckling and jerking his head back toward his stump as he turned back to Blossom.
He returned slowly, scratching the back of his neck. "Hey, sorry for rushing off like that. Got a little excited, been about... four years since I last saw Ed here. What were you saying, something about... something?" he finished helplessly, shrugging with his palms upward, looking as sheepish as one can look when one's face bears virtually no resemblance to anything one could call human.

Blossom watched as Ganon spoke to Ed, poking fun at her as well as into her side. They sure seemed like good friends. She rocked back and forth idly while she waited for him to notice her again, and once he was coming back over, she again had to tilt her head up to see his face far above hers. "I was saying you are too tall. S'not fair." she stated, though she couldn't help but giggle. "How did you get so tall? I drink milk and I'm still one of the shortest people here. 'Cept for Vah. She's just a baby, though."
Blossom ran a hand through her bangs, adjusting her scarf. "Also, what brings you back here? I've never seen you before. So I guess it'd be just what brings you here for me." She paused. "So what's got you coming here? Old friends?" She looked over at his cart, then back at him. "You're a very good singer, by the way. And playing the guitar, too. It was very pretty."

Ed made a face as the reptilian musician prodded at her side, something of a pout, but she couldn't hold the face for long. She giggled and stumbled off, grinning up at Ganon. "Definitely muscle," she replied, rocking on her heels a bit.
The prospect of old friends flocking about lifted her heart into a soar. The girl replied with an enthusiastic nod and skipped over to the stump, plopping down cheerfully, tragically unaware of the horrors unfolding at the mansion. She swayed and watch the people mill by.

Ganon blinked as the wall of words washed over him, and then his brain set to work piecing out each part. "Thank you," he said with a smile after a moment. "My height, yes. If you'd believe it, I'm not especially tall for my kind. My brother was a good nine-and-a-half feet," he chuckled, making his way over to the stump and picking up his violin and bow.
"I'm a traveling bard," he informed Blossom. "I don't stay in one place too long usually, 'cept in winter. Don't really move about in winter." He plucked three notes out with his claws and then pulled the bow across the strings and began to play an upbeat tune, speaking reasonably in rhythm with the tune. "I was in the area, and decided to stop in. I haven't been around this part of the world for some time, and I rather hoped the place would be a bit more populated than before. Looks like it is. They've actually got guards by the gates, I notice." The tune continued as he glanced back at Ed, keeping the part of his neck to which the violin was pressed stationary while he swung his head around to look back at the chimera. "Did you ever pick up a guitar like I told you you should, Ed?"

Blossom's eyes rounded wide again, and her mouth hung open. Nine and a half feet...? "No way! That's against some sorta... p-puberty rule!" Blossom proclaimed in shock. She pointed at him to object, then let her hand drop to her side. She didn't really have anything to object; it wasn't his fault she was a shrimp. "Why's everybody gotta be so much bigger than me?" Blossom sat down in the grass, hands at her knees. She relaxed as he played, smiling. He really was very good. She liked music, it was just a shame she personally couldn't play a note.
"Well, it's nice that you came. It's fun to meet new people." Blossom smiled brightly at Ganon. "How long've you been playing? You really are good." She didn't care that she already said it; Blossom didn't mind repeating things to make a point.

Ed was clicking her toes together, halfly listening to Ganon and Blossom, halfly listening to the crowds. Her mind was wandering up in the air on imaginary wings. She looked up, remembering that had wanted to practice her avian form. She hadn't been a bird in a while. Being a wolf was fun, but she needed to master the other forms in case of emergencies.
She cocked her head as Ganon began to play something. Her attention focused more on him now as he spoke of what he had expected upon his return to Eyris, so she continued listening absentmindedly to the musician. That is, until she heard her name.
The girl snapped to awareness and blinked, her mind suddenly grounded and her thoughts in place. "Uh... I took up a sword," Ed answered awkwardly with a hearty grin.

Ganon raised a brow at Ed, then shook his head as he laughed. "I should have expected that." While he wasn't entirely sure what a puberty rule was, but he suspected no such rule actually existed. He continued to play introspectively, conducting with the tip of his tail as he changed the tempo. "Ah, lemme think... started playing drums, oh... seventy-two years ago, I suppose, and picked up the guitar about forty years past... violin not long after that." Already, children were beginning to wander across the field. Some of the older ones recognized Ganon and ran toward his stump, sitting down and waving up at him. "Ahaa, there are all my little friends!" he laughed, hopping down off his stump as he stopped playing. "How are all of you doing?" There seemed to be a general consensus that they were doing well, and Ganon laughed as he sat down, picking up his guitar again. "Ah, now, let me see..." He struck a thoughtful chord, then broke into a grin as he picked out a melody and began to strum. And then he sang! "Alice asks an addled alligator All about an annual affair! Antony ascends an Alp adroitly! Anika assumes an awesome air! Allison avoids an angry adder! Artur's apprehending awkwardly! Angie's angling at an ancient archer! Andrew's after an apology!
ABC! Talkin' bout ABC! There's no doubt about it, It's the place to be! ABC! Talkin' bout ABC! If you wanna get anywhere, you gotta start with: ABC!" The kids inexpertly clapped with the rhythm as Ganon laughed, launching into a complex little riff between verses.

Blossom's eyes widened once more as Ganon addressed her again. The snake man was just so adept at shocking the short young woman, wasn't he? "Seventy-two years?" she demanded in awe. She studied his face, eyes moving to his arms, chest, legs, then back to his face, as if she might find a hint of a wrinkle or aging on his scaled skin. "You don't look older than... th-than thirty or something! How can you be seventy-two years old?" she paused a beat, then amended, "Older than seventy-two! How could you be old enough to be my grandpa?" Blossom paused. "Well, uh, you couldn't be my grandpa anyway, but..."
She trailed off as a small crowd of children from within the city rushed right over to the snake man. Blossom looked at them pointedly before scurrying out of their way, sitting near Ganon's cart. She listened absentmindedly as Ganon played, eyes on the guitar, watching his claws pick away at the strings. "...Doesn't look over seventy years old," she mumbled, looking to be pouting. "He's gotta be pulling my leg. He can't look that young and be that old at the same time! I mean, he's not a dragon..."

Ed puffed defiantly at her bangs, but she listened nevertheless. After all, Ganon's songs were a wonder to listen to, though she had to wonder how similar his music was to Nils's. Nils had the power to rejuvenate the spirit with a simple twiddle on his flute...
She wondered momentarily how things fared back at Fefga's mansion.
Ed's face broke into another grin. "Oh, I dunno, Blossom," she called out. "Seems that guys like him tend to have long lifespans, like the laguz of Tellius, aye?" She kicked her feet out and glanced up, recalling the books she used to pick up.
She let her mind drift off in Ganon's song and the laughter and calls of children. The chimera's thoughts were too reluctant to return after the song ended, and so she simply sat there, staring up dazedly.

Dashing over, Nometal noticed some people. Well now to do what we were supposed to do. "HOY!"

Blossom nodded once to Ed, the chimera woman that she found interesting, but hadn't spoken to very often. She sat down cross-legged against the cart, watched the ox graze, and closed her eyes, content to simply listen to the pretty music, and...
And...
Was that screaming?
Blossom sat up, eyes opening. That was screaming. It was gone now, but... she scrambled to her feet, brushed off her skirt, and looked at Ganon and Ed. Did they not hear those screams? They were as plain as day! Why weren't they doing anything? Is someone getting hurt? Did someone lose something? Or someone? What if it's something really bad? Oh man, what if--
She paused, hearing someone shout at her. "Ack!" she yelped instinctively, whirling around. There was NoMetal. Oh. Not an enemy. "What's going on? People were screaming!" she shouted at him. Nevermind the fact that he's right there, oh no. The only way to truly portray the urgency of a situation is to scream into someone's face. "Is something bad going on? Is anyone hurt? I don't think those were good screams!"
Inside voices are for losers.

Ed jolted and leapt to her feet upon hearing the screams. She glanced around wildly, her eyes hovering momentarily on Blossom and Ganon, before examining the streets again.
Crowds had stopped to listen. The children were still, wide-eyed. And NoMetal and Valter were coming their way!
Ed quickly unsheathed her sword, forgetting that children were there, unaware of their frightened stares as the sun glinted against the steel. "What's going on?" she replied, looking urgent all of a sudden. Ed had been waiting for some action!

Dashing over, Nometal yelled, "Someone is attacking some other people. Rei was attacked, as was Nils. Mel was attacked, and now is recoveing from what I heard. Rei is fighting Amelia to the death apparently. None of this is good. The attacker gets to them from the shadows, and then fights them. The name of the attacker is...Asami something."
