Hey there, I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to post in here, but I have an idea for a thread. I may not join or anything, but it'd be fun for everyone to try, I think.

Thread Name: Deltora Mansion

Description:
Since anyone can remember there has been an old dispairing mansion sitting atop the small hill in the small town of Frulane (optional). It has long since been abandoned, forgotten, and condemned, and only the older inhabitants rememberthe family who had once lived there.

Powerful, rich, suspicious. These were only a few words used to describe the Deltora family. The family that had once built, ruled over, and brought pain and suffering to the town below. The Deltoras consisted of a mother (Annette), a father (William), and their four sons (Trystyn, Jessie, James, and Seth)(these names also optional), and all of them had taken part in the city's affairs.

William, a man in his early fourtys, had shoulder length red hair, sharp eyes, and a harsh voice. When he was twelve he'd come to the land and helped with the construction of Furlane. Back then he'd been a happy, helpful little boy who was always eager to help anyone in trouble. But as he got older that had all changed.

The sons all looked as their father had at varying ages, and all posesed some of their father's atributes. Jessie had the command and determination of his father. Trystyn had his father's looks and ability to make any man tremble at the mere mention of his name. James seemed to be the only one who had become the boy Bill once had been. And Seth, though silent, and seemingly calm, could turn at any moment and become as crule and destructive as a wolf.

They were a proud family, content in knowing that there was no being alive who would challange them. And then they were gone. They had completely vanished without a trace.

The story begins when a few of the younger inhabitants of the small town decide to go up to the house on a dare. While in the house one of the boys stumbles and falls into an old desk, revealing a hastially scribbled letter. Uopn further inspection they also find a gold necklace with a small 'V' on it. The first in a long line of clues that will tell them what happened to the proud family that had once lived there.

It soon becomes clear that if they don't find out where the Deltora family went, or why, the entire town could be in jepordy. And the only thing they have to help them is the letter and a necklace with a miniscule inscription on the back.

How This Will Work:
Someone will be appointed to head the thread and will participate by finding a reason why the family left and adding clues (one or 2 a day), rooms, or anything else they feel like until the mystery is solved. The other people will take what they have been given and try to figure out the reason the family left Frulane so suddenly.

Why:

I just really like stories like that, and I thought it might be fun. If the person in charge of it is really good this particular storyline could last for days, maybe a week or more so it'll be something for everyone to do for a while. heart
Sorry this is so long, I started typing it and I couldn't stop. All names are completely optional.

One Last Thing:

The letter reads like this-

Ryan
No time to explain, we need to meet you ASAP. Seth needs a place to-

(the rest is too hard to read)

The necklace seems to have something written on the back, but the writing is too small to make out.

Hey! I just got accepted into the guild today (thanks Ailinea!) and I just thought it would be nice to have a thread where everybody can introduce themselves if they're new or if they just felt like it. What would it be called? Heck (no, that's not my answer).... 'Introduce Yourself'?

lol i just made a thread like that, wow great minds really think alike.

please check out the Gathering Meadow
lol. Cool.
P.S. I like Darahl's idea.

((Now, before I post this, I feel I should warn you that I tend to frown upon Combat RPs [hereafter mentioned as CRPs], due to the instability of not having a system to go by and the diversity of combat techniques that some will use [my own character knows more about mana control/affinity than he probably should for CRP's sake]. However, not everyone feels the same way about CRPs as I do, and the guild might be served by the existance of an arena within the proverbial hallway. Perhaps you could set it up so that those with characters in other worlds that have some combat ability [or wish to have some combat ability] can come here to train themselves [or be trained, which I would gladly do {by PM, for the sake of my own sanity}], or challenge others to duels of honor. This can easilly get out of hand, and needs to be watched carefully by our loyal, loving captain [ wink ], but it might turn out to be a positive. Might.))

Actually, if you play table top RPs, then you can easily translate that to the Dice system, you just have to write up a hit point system that is universal for everybody in the RP to go by

((I have a question. The things we post in this fourm can they have the plots of a game or movie in the real world. Like a Tales of Symphonia Plotline(With madeup Characters) or something like that?))

Kin, I realize we made this thread to eliminate clutter with topics everywhere, but do you think with the new large amount of members that we can start letting people start their own RPs without waiting for us to create it? Like make sure they begin the post with a good introduction to their RP and stuff... I'm part of another literate RP guild, and this seems to work out well.

However, I know that our way of doing things separates us from other guilds, so it's really up to you. ^.~

Well...that's going to make it harder to do character sheets and assign characters properly as a new RP will pop up every 5 minutes sweatdrop I shall adapt xp

Yeah, which is why I haven't entirely thought this out. During my shower, I was thinking this over.

So, we could let people create their own Realms and have a variety of places, but without our character sheets to be easily accesible, or we can keep some semblance of order and continue to do realms as they are requested. I see advantages and disadvantages to both.

I really want to create a character sheet for each of my characters, so perhaps we could hold off for now and see how things go as the member count increases?

And Kin, I realized that I'm being kinda suggestion happy; if you ever get annoyed by all of my suggestions or comments or anything, please don't hesitate to let me know. I know I can be annoying at times. sweatdrop

One big negative I see in letting us normal members create our own RP topics is that every member is going to want their own, and nobody is going to want to visit the other member's RPs

Yeah, that's another thing I was looking at. Having fewer topics keeps people posting in those, which lets people having something to do, instead of waiting days for someone to post in their topic. Good thinking Time. ^^
