Indeed, Aya was trying to think....which was, really, becoming easier without being serenaded by screaming. Mal's coughing, at last, began to abate, leaving him with watery eyes and a face that was flushed as he snuffled. The mage frowned in concern as he sneezed again. He'd picked a perfect time to come up sick...
Oblivious to anything going on between the adults, Tasi's eyes widened in delight as one of the boys managed to pull up a bigger clump of grass than she had. Complete with roots, dirt, and a fat wriggling worm. The bagel was dropped as she gave a happy shriek, batting one blue hand at the slimy creature even as it dropped to the grass, wanting no part of curious babies.

The worm wriggled and writhed with gusto, but the boys could top that. Seeing the new baby's delight at the worms antics they flailed their own soft and squishy tentacles.
Wasa leaned back on her hands, the feathers on her mask rustling in the slight breeze as she watched Aya continue to be stumped. "Perhaps a doctor would have better luck? I know one... know several in fact."

Aya set her jaw, torn. On the one hand, she could follow her instinct, which was to put as much distance between herself and these three. And from there, do what? Possibly meet stranger people? Bigger beasts? Wander aimlessly until this place's air not only claimed Mal, but started effecting HEr as well?
Red eyes flicked between her son and Wasabineko, chewing her lip thoughtfully. "What kinna doctors?" she relented when Mal gave another (but thankfully short) bout of coughing.
At the sight of four larger wriggling tentacles, the worm was quickly forgotten as a look of comical surprise flew across the infant's face. Tasi then gave a crow of elation as she reached out for the strange appendages, wanting to know everything touch, and maybe taste, would tell her about them.

"That I know? Plenty of sorts. But I'd think those that study medicine would do you the most good." Wasa pointed to the two boys, one of which had placed a pseudo-pod directly on Tasi's forehead to keep her working maw a safe distance as the other poked her palm with his own. "You might have noticed my boys are a bit unique. I take them to a clinic from time to time just to be sure that everything works. Nature can make the impossible happen, but when it comes to ensuring that creation's survival she gets a little lax."

For the first time since setting the satchel down, Aya turned her attention to Sai'tasi and felt her insides give a lurch of surprise at the scene that had unfolded. Those little....things were putting their tentacles on her daughter!
However, if Tasi was bothered any by it, she hid it well. Her palm eagerly met the pale palm of the other, thick fingers made almost cruelly-obvious against the delicate five of the little boy.
Mal watched the interaction and began to try and get down with a wheeze, wanting to investigate the other children as well. He was not used to seeing people his own size, after all.
Aya readjusted her grip on him, preventing his escape, her eyes still warily on Tasi and the other set of twins. She didn't like the options presented to her, having never been one to put her faith in strangers.
....but as she was fond of telling others, she didn't have to like something to do it.
"How do we get dere?" she asked, her voice a strange mix of impatience and resignation.

The twin holding Tasi back waved at Mal as he wriggled, patiently waiting for him to join them on the grass without noting that his mother would have none of it. The other fanned his ears and waited to see if Tasi would do the same. She did have nice large ears too, after all.
"Hmm. I dunno. They don't let me drive. Something about masks obstructing vision." She pressed a crooked finger against her lip. The woman hadn't been very considerate, showing up on her lawn and all without an apology or at least a pleasant demeanor to make the experience a little more enjoyable for all. But she had brought babies, and presently one of them seemed to be getting along with her own brood. And since she had no clue if Nautilus and Kirkii had even seen another baby before, this was likely a good and healthy thing. Playmates she didn't have to raise and care for herself... it was worth courting the blue woman's trust just a bit longer.
"I could call us a cab."

The look Aya gave Wasa in return was all the answer she needed to be told that the troll mage hadn't the slightest idea what a cab was. "I--" she began, cutting herself off with a noise of agitation as Mal'kyor began to cry again. Whether it was because he didn't feel good or because she wouldn't let him down was anyone's guess. "Aight." she said. "A cab den. Whateva works."
A hand briefly stole to her hip where a small cloth pouch was tucked against her belt, reassuring herself she'd brought money if it was needed. That was, if this planet of tentacle people recognized money when they saw it...
...but then she assumed gold was just as good in any world.
Tasi seemed puzzled by the display with the ears. Did her own do that too? Her hands stole to either side of her head, grasping at them. They did not fan, or even twitch, however. And her efforst to make them do so, sent her capsizing backwards with a grunt. She blinked up at the sky before patiently rolling back onto her belly to right herself again, not to be deterred.

Wasa searched through the folds of her skirt until she found the pocket holding her phone. A few taps and she was on the line, succeeding in summoning a cab and further confusing the traveler.
Each boy grabbed an ear, trying their best to help.

Tasi laughed, in the endearing and contagious way only infants could, as her ears were given attention. She turned glowing yellow eyes up to the two adults, as if hoping they would notice the fabulous new trick her friends were showing her, blissfully unaware that in a moment they were all going to be swallowed up by a strange rumbling yellow vessel.

The boys broke into twin-two-toothed smiles at the sound. This was new AND fun. They wanted this to stay, and if it didn't, the would make their displeasure known.
"Well, suppose we should make our way to the front of the house then." Wasa stood and brushed a few scouting ants from her garments. Picking up one of the boys while they were distracted was easy, but once Nauti was settled on her hip one of Kirkii's tentacles wrapped around Tasi's wrist.

Tasi gave a whine as Nauti was lifted out of her reach and, second-guessing the masked woman, mimicked Nauti by latching onto him as well, as if he were a well-loved toy. She didn't need to take BOTH of them...
Aya gave a sigh of distrustful resignation, snatching up the sling from where she'd laid it in the grass to get Mal resituated in it. That done, she moved to sweep up Tasi as well, her hold on the other child broken easily with the upward movement. The little halfblood gave a loud squawk of protest, reaching defiantly for her playmate.
"Tell it to de judge." her mother grumbled in response to the infantile objections.

Black eyes were thick with moisture as the boys blinked in disbelief that they would be given such a thing only to have it taken away. The moment the tears became thick enough to fall, they broke into choking wails of misery. Wasa sighed and scooped up Kirkii, settling him on the opposite side of her ample hips from his brother. "You'll get used to it, little ones. They're always coming and going"
