The Bronco's do have 2 not too bad QB's now. Orton & Chris Simms. They're projected to draft Mark Sanchez. That'd be pretty solid at QB then. They're gonna be a solid team soon too.

It sure seems that with 4 1st rd draft picks over this year and next, they are primed to have all the ammo they could ever need to make it go for the long haul. Now they have to be smart about their picks. They have 2 QB's who are veterans and can start in the league, so it would stand to reason they will make drafting a QB to learn over the next 2 seasons a high priority. This way the other players they have will be veteran enough to help out the QB and they have time to learn with him.

I look at it this way. I look at the teams they are going to and where they are coming from.
Cutler is going from a team that knew how to use his strenghts. He is a passing QB. Not a managing QB. The Broncos use a run to establish and then pass to kill offense. But they mix it up as well.
Orton is coming from a team that just wants to grind things out and wear teams down with their run offense and their defense. That is how they win their games. Orton is a Passing QB, not a managing QB.
Where Cutler is going to is a team without any average starting talent for WR. Their best is Hester. But that is about it. He will have a team that knows how to run the ball, but he had that in Denver as well as proven WR's there as well.
Orton is a good passer and is smart with the ball as long as he has the time and not get hit by defenders blitzing him all the time. He will have that in Denver. Unlike Chicago, he will now have proven WR's to throw to as well.
I think overall Orton will have the better part of the deal than Cutler will.

I think that the Broncos pretty much raped the Bears in this deal.

I agree with vegito, cutler really made the broncos go down, and Cutler is nothing without Brandon Marshall and eddie royal, so the broncos got the better deal.

The Broncos didn't get the better deal because of Cutler's performance. He is a very good QB, who is getting better. He also fit their offense well, and was the face of the team.

The Broncos get the better deal because of what they got in return. Two first round picks, a third rounder, and a decent QB. Wow, that's a steal. Four first round picks in the next two years is magnanimous.

You have to remember though about where the QB is going. What are the weapons there? What were the weapons where he was at before? Look at that and then tell me what you think please. I think that Cutler is going to be better than Orton was in Chi. but he will not be anything like he was in Denver.

Yes i agree, Cutler is nothin without Eddie Royal, Brandon Stokley, Tony Scheffler, and his favorite target Brandon Marshall. So since Chicago has only one good reciever, Cutler will have a hard time completing passes, and Orton will have an easier time, so Jay Cutler just made the worst error of his life leaving the Broncos, and he ruined his career.

Cutler made a mistake by wanting out, because a Broncos team with Cutler is better than a Bears team with Cutler. You can't really blame him though, because Jay Cutler was coming off of a Pro Bowl season, then Shanahan gets fired, and the new team opinions wanted to trade him away in favor of Cassel. I would have felt betrayed too.

Anyways, yes, Cutler would have had more offensive weapons in Denver than in Chicago.

And here's another thing that's interesting: The Bears probably would have selected a receiver with their first round pick this month. Also maybe even next year too. But both of those picks were traded away for Cutler, so it will be really tough to find a WR that can help that team out.

I don't know if it's ironic, but something really surprised me...

Initially, the Broncos wanted to send Cutler away in a three-way trade, and receiver Cassel in return. But after all was done, Cassel was only worth an early second rounder. Cutler was then worth two first rounders, a third rounder, and a decent QB in Orton.

Well, when i think of Jay Cutler, he is an ascending QB he is only going to get better and he has proven that he can play QB on a high level, but at the same time i dont know how well he is going to fit in Chicago, its going to be an interesting season. As a Carolina Panthers fan, when i heard he was up for grabs i wanted him because Jake delhomme is inconsistent and throws prayers at Steve Smith, who somehow always catches them, so i think Cutler would have been a good fit in Carolina. But watever the past is the past. cry

Jay Cutler is a very good QB, and should do pretty well in Chicago.

...But I don't think he was worth all that. The Bears gave the Broncos way too much. Two first rounders, a third rounder, and a decent QB in Orton? That's pushing it. They better hope that it pays off.
