As she began to shift herself, he stood erect and took stock of their surroundings once more. His silver nose and pale eyes found nothing, and his long ears heard nothing out of the ordinary. All was well, but still, one oculd never be too careful.
Especially when a kitten was in their care.
As she paused, he fell to all fours and moved after her, giving her a nod. He moved quickly after her, exhaling with relief as they took cover. Surely they would be much harder to find, here.
to keep her mind off the Elil, for he certainly didn't want to frighten her too much, he tried to strike up conversation while she rested.
"So, what are your folks like, Kalei? Hnn?"

Kalei stumbled along the way but managed to roll under the bush safely. Shaking the grass off of her fur she looked up at Cowslip with pride, as if she had just pulled off a dangerous stunt. Her previous exhaustion seemed to be quickly replaced with bubbling kit energy because soon, she was on her paws again, burying her face into Cowslip's large, soft side.
"They're kind of like you." she said to his fur, giggling.
