Nafsi watched her Master for a moment before taking a few steps in the direction he was headed. She stared after him in cofusion until he announced his - no, their - destination. "The Ocean?" She had never thought of going to such a place, but the ocean it was.
She sped her walk a bit to keep up with the long legged creature. He could definately outrun her, with her much shorter legs and, admittedly stockier stature. She gave Mauja a small smile, not showing her teeth. She blew her bangs from her face and let herself fall into a comfortable bace beside her Master.

Flicking his eyes over towards Nafsi for a moment, Mauja smirked and began to quicken his pace. He started to gradually gain speed until he leveled out at a comfortable run, smiling as he felt his muscles move. "Come on now, the ocean might disappear! We've gotta hurry!" he laughed, and urged Nafsi to run with him.

"M-Mauja!" She spoke, startled, quickening her pace into a run to follow. "W-wait," She was almost in a panic, her heart frantically racing as he outran her easier. Fear coarsed through her veins - did he want to leave her? So soon? Was she not good enough?
Still, she frantically ran to catch up - after all, a comfortable speed for a cheetah was breakneak for a lioness, especially a young one such as herself, not even emerging upon adulthood yet.

Mauja turned and looked back at the stuggling lioness, slowing to a stop to let her catch up. "Having fun?" his breath was raspy, but he felt amazing after the good run.
When Nafsi had caught up to him, he licked her forehead. "Maybe not so fast next time, eh?"

Nafsi was shaking, her muscled failed, and she collapsed with tears streaming down her face. Fear still gripped her heart and a sob tore from her delicate throat between the gasps of breaths and the tears. Her throat too sore to speak.
The tongue against her forehead succeeded in the path to calming down, though she was still rather frantic. Words didn't register to her.

Seeing Nafsi laying on the ground before him, Mauja's eyes grew wide. He wasn't used to feeling his heart jerk at the sight of something like this, so he was unsure of what to do.
Laying down on the grass next to her, he curled himself around Nafsi's small frame, gently grooming her face and licking away her tears. "If you don't want me to do something, you should say something next time." he rubbed his face up next to hers and rested it on her shoulder.

"I was s-scared," She said through a choked sob. He had run so fast, leaving her, quite literally, in the dust. The feeling of loss had alreadyset into the pit of her belly, along with regret, fear, and rejection. Her frame was still shaking.
"Please, please, don't leave me again," She choked out, turning to nuzzling into his neck.

Mauja sighed with a slight smile on his face. "You silly." he moved his head in, touching her nose with his. "Don't ever think things like that, okay? I won't leave you."

It took a bit of time for Nafsi's breathing to level out and for her sobbing to stop. she, for now, was just content in at least touching her master. "I'm sorry," she whispered out, her voice hitching for a moment from the remaining sobs in her body.

"Mhmm." Mauja closed his eyes and just layed there with Nafsi; he knew moving now would do them no good, so this seemed like the best plan of action for the time being.
"So," he licked the tuft of fur between her eyes. "you've never seen the ocean? It's beautiful. Maybe we can go swimming." he smirked, and returned his head to the same spot it had previously occupied.

The sound of Mauja's voice calmed her further. "No, I've never been... anywhere," she answered softly, almost from obligation. She shivered a little and gave her master a small lick on the nose. She gave a sigh and lay her head down.
"I'm sorry," She repeated, though for a different reason.

Feeling the sun beat down on his back, Mauja closed his eyes. "It's alright, everything's fine." he nestled his head between Nafsi's shoulder blades, and started to drift off. "We can go see the ocean tomorrow then." with a wide yawn, Mauja stumbled off into sleep.
