Koumori smiled, padding over to Caelan. "Well, I suppose I should begin introductions in that case." He said with a light chuckle. He looked back at Jasper. "Jasper, this is Caelan, a friend of mine I met when he was a kit through Chi." He turned back to Caelan. "And Caelan, this is Jasper, probably the first Modifox I met here in this area, and the first one to be willing to join this tribe," he said, gesturing with his tail back to Jasper. He turned his head up to gaze at the moon, illuminating the area with it's cold, lurid light. This was turning out the way he wanted, finally...

Caelan nodded his greetings to Jasper. "Wow, the first in the tribe," Caelan said with an impressed tone. He sniffed around before looking back at the other two. "How many others have wanted to join?" He asked. Caelan could tell there were quite a few other foxes in the area, but he didn't know whether or not they intended to join. He wondered where the others were, also.

Koumori looked down at his paws. "I believe... Myself, obviously, you, Jasper, Alterio, Aido, Fuchi, and possibly one other vixen Aido's chasing around. Alterio is Aido's son, by the way." He mused, licking his lips. It was a fairly large group of foxes, far bigger than he thought. He was glad, undeniably glad. With a sigh, he rolled his eyes up to meet Caelan's. "We're pretty much ready."

Caelan thought back for a few moments. Some of those names sounded familiar. "Oh," Caelan exclaimed quietly to himself as he realised where he had heard them before. "I remember where I heard your name before," he said to Jasper, "as well as Alterio's and Aido's." Caelan glanced momentarily in the direction Chi's scent was coming from, before turning back to her brother. "Chi mentioned them when I first met her and asked about the tribe." It seemed the tribe had come a long way since then. At the time, those three had been the only ones in the tribe other than Koumori and Chi.

Koumori chuckled lightly, slowly sitting down. He lowered his gaze down to his paws. So alike they were, his sister and he. Same parents, same markings, same birthday, same curse... Yet they were also so different... She was someone who he found difficult to understand, but not difficult to see through. His smile turned into a rueful one, the emotion behind his blood red eyes changing dramatically. The happiness that originated from the fact that he may actually be able to start up this tribe turned into sorrow... Sorrow that originated from the fact that his sister wouldn't be here to share it with him... He sighed. "Chi won't be staying..." He stated solemnly, still smiling that rueful smile.

Caelan turned back to Koumori with a shocked expression on his face. "What do you mean she's not staying?" He asked. Then he clarified his question, "Where is she going?" Caelan could tell Koumori didn't like the thought of his sister not joining the tribe, no matter the reason. Caelan couldn't blame him at the moment, but would make no judgement until after learning the details, if ever he did.

The vampire sighed, raising his eyes to meet Caelan's. "She... She isn't particularly fond of company, especially those of 'normal' Modifoxes... She doesn't get along with others all too well, also, and I know she's afraid that she would lose control over herself and hurt or kill one of the foxes in this tribe, such as you, Jasper, Alterio, Fuchi, or that new vixen... The ones who are already vampires -Aido and I- would be fine..." His tail slowly swept the ground behind him as he spoke. "She's going off with her mate."

Caelan tilted his head to the side as Koumori told him the news. It was hard to believe and, needless to say, saddening to learn that Chi wasn't going to be around. She was one of the first foxes he had met, and the one who had first told him of the Kurai Tribe. Then again, Chi knew herself better than anybody, and if she didn't trust herself around other foxes, then maybe it was for the best. "I suppose it would be less stressful for her if she knew the tribe was safe," Caelan commented. He was sad about the news, but at the same time he was happy for the vampire. Besides, she was with her mate now. Caelan was pretty sure he knew who that was. The first time he met Chi and Koumori, the latter teased his sister about a fox named Vincent. Her new mate could be him.

Koumori analyzed Caelan’s somber expression, a twinge of melancholy prodding at his heart. For a moment, he frowned, before attempting a half smile again. “Hey, don’t feel all that bad, Caelan.” He stated, chuckling lightly. “Excuse my hypocrisy.” He added quickly, flipping his hair out of his eyes. He paused again, his left forepaw scuffing at the ground in front of him. “She will be back… At least occasionally.” He said, a solemn tone staining his voice. He sighed, his gaze falling to the ground once again. “It is sad, I will not deny that… But…” The vampire bit his lower lip, shaking his head. “I only ever wanted her to be happy. And if she’s happier like this, well… So be it…”

Caelan looked back up at Koumori, who was trying to cheer him up. The older fox was actually succeeding quite well. Caelan nodded understandingly. "You are right, Koumori," he said. "I suppose if she feels more comfortable a safe distance from the tribe, we should trust her judgement and support her descisions."
Caelan glanced about a few moments, thinking of a change of subject. "So, how big are the tribe grounds?" He asked.

Koumori was glad to switch subjects. "Um..." He pondered that for a moment. He knew about the cliff he stood upon at first, then the rock and pool he found Chi at, and the forest that surrounded it. "I'm not quite too sure, actually." He admit with a sigh. He looked up into Caelan's blood red eyes. "Do you want to do a bit of exploring with me? Perhaps we could get a better sense of borders and whatnot." He asked. It would better the both of them. "I haven't been here too long myself, so a little exploring wouldn't hurt." He added with a chuckle.

Caelan gave a small chuckle as well before nodding his consent to the Elder-to-be. "It would be a good idea for you to learn the lay of your own land," Caelan replied. "I might as well go with you, I suppose." Caelan glanced around before his eyes settled on a direction. It was opposite from where he had arrived onto the tribe lands. "We could start off going that way, I suppose," Caelan suggested.

Koumori smiled, turning on his heels. "Shall we, then?" He asked, looking back over his shoulder at Caelan. He quickly glanced in the direction that Caelan suggested. "We could go down in that direction... I haven't really walked down there much. The farthest I had gone is up to that sheer precipice of black rock and that is it. I am now wondering what lays beyond that..."

"That's good then," Caelan replied and nodded. He began to follow Koumori down the path. Caelan looked ahead at the black rock Koumori had indicated to. It seemed a very steep cliff from where they were. Caelan focused on everything as they passed it. The grounds seemed a little... dark to him. Oddly fitting, considering those in the occupying tribe. He continued walking a little behind Koumori, taking in all of the surroundings.

He continued padding along, meandering his way through the forest with Caelan close behind him. It had been night for hours now. It was night when Jasper arrived with Alterio and it was night until now, when he found himself navigating the lands of what had the potential to become his tribe with who had the potential to become a tribe member. The hue of the sky had only darkened if there was any change at all, and the moon was still high in the sky. It was strange, though he had to admit that he did enjoy it.
Eventually he came to a stop at the tree line before the same precipice of black rock he had mentioned to Caelan only minutes earlier. He edged closer, craning his neck to peer over the edge and estimate the height of the cliff and how hazardous it would be to climb down. He could clearly see a way down and he also noticed something he had not noticed before...
A stream flowing from the forest. He traced its path from the trees until it disappeared over the cliff. He observed it, the waters cascading over the black rock. It was barely a waterfall, a thin wall of water -not much wider than a foot- merely falling a few feet from one small pool to the next until it stooped and pooled at the base of the cliff and out into the land in another small creek.
He wondered how he could have missed it, despite the fact that it hardly made a sound. Maybe the little noise it did make was hushed when he was howling. He didn't know. What mattered was that it was there. It would probably prove itself to be a vital source of water for the tribe, considering that the only other water he found was when Jasper and he were with Chi at that pool. Although, that pool had a certain aura around it. The arcane feeling was uncanny and he could tell that even Chi was unnerved by it. He had not the slightest clue why, but it probably required further investigation. Did every Modifox feel it or was it something only felt by vampires?
Koumori closed his eyes, which were glazed over when he was engrossed in thought. When he opened them again, the look had disappeared and he seemed like his normal self once again, despite the fact that his thoughts were still running in the back of his mind. He looked over his shoulder again, his gaze resting on Caelan. "Shall we continue on?"
