Well, Meirou has never really met Paul....She collects his books instead. Books make great friends!
Meirou catches the pages for Xue as they fall, gathering them to return to the brave adventurer. Wow...A Mold Monster? And so that's the Dark Monster.... She nods, looking them over.
Nusumu? Meirou has not met her yet...Perhaps sometime Xue can introduce her~
But they're a TEAM. So three against one king. Wow. Meirou can only imagine it would be like the Dragon Knights!

Xue is not sure about books being friends. They cannot talk or play games or eat cupcakes. Xue has tried, and his family got kind of angry when they found the books smeared with chocolate. And books are not very good at dress-up either, and terrible at hide and seek.
There are monsters for just about everything, Xue is discovering. But he repeats that there are good monsters and bad monsters, so at least not all the monsters are scary. But the Mold Monster and the Dark Monster are, as are many others.
No? Well, Xue can sort of understand that. And he will certainly introduce them sometime, though Meirou might have a better shot without Xue's interference. sweatdrop
A king? surprised Xue did not know there was a king involved. This is sounding really exciting! And Dragon Knights... something there sounds familiar. Didn't Ten tell him a story about them that one time? Who are they again?

Meirou guessed Xue has a point with the talking and the cupcakes...Though some books have games in them! Though they're mostly crosswords and wordsearches...And yes. Yes they are. Perhaps Xue needs an actual CHOCOLATE BOOK. Meirou is sure they exist! Those silly Gaians come up with everything.
Just about everything? Meirou is in awe of how many there are. Is there a good monster for every bad one? To counteract the badness?
Meirou is still very new to Gaia, and is sure there are many Porcelain here she has not yet met. But someday she will know many more than she currently does. And Xue will be fine! Meirou will stick up for him if Nusumu is not-so-nice. That's what friends do, right?
Meirou isn't sure if the king is good or bad in the book...Kanna just let her read the back for about 5 seconds before they had to go back home. The Dragon Knights...Were a group of highly-selected Porcelain from the different regions, if she remembers correctly. They were out to stop corruption and stuff like that. And carry out orders from the Empress herself? Something like that? Meirou thinks they were mostly female...But there was one male one. The Ice Maiden? Something along those lines....? sweatdrop It's been a long time since she's read about them...

Oh, Xue has seen word-searches before! Kar did them when he was learning to read! But Xue can't read at all, really, so he's no good at anything like that. sweatdrop
YES. YES. CHOCOLATE BOOK WOULD BE AMAZING. Maybe Des could make one, or Oneechan! They can do ANYTHING with food!
Uh. Xue isn't sure, really. He knows that there are a whoooole lot of monsters, but he doesn't know if there are monsters for everything. Or if there's a good monster for every bad one. There must be, though, otherwise the bad ones would overrun the good ones and eat them all. Or something.
Xue will introduce Meirou to everyone! Not that he knows everyone, but he has a good number of friends, and he is sure that they will all like her! And she doesn't need to worry about him, although he is plainly touched by her offer.
Ten did say something about that, Xue thinks. He remembers hearing about an Ice Maiden, and Flying Spears and Swords. But they were busy giving a tour, so Xue really doesn't remember very well either. sweatdrop Since Xue can't read, maybe they can find Ten and ask?

Aww~ Meirou will help Xue learn to read, then! Because sometimes adventurers need to read..uhm...important signs! Yes yes!
Meirou grins at the fantasy of a chocolate book....Until it is mentally eaten by a Kanna!Monster! Aaaah! gonk Kanna would EAT the chocolate book if Meirou possessed it!
Meirou is sure Xue will one day find a whole big....GRIMORE of monsters and their weaknesses. Kanna has one of those somewhere...It's titled... DARK CLOUD 2 STRATEGY GUIDE. twisted
Everyone~? Wow, Xue must know many more Porcelain here than Meirou does. sweatdrop She isn't even sure how many there ARE here in Gaia! But it is good to know that Xue has friends. Meirou had friends back in the Golden World, but not many.....
Ten? Who is Ten? Meirou gives Xue a curious look, wondering if this is one of his buddies. And yes yes! Those were other titles of the Dragon Knights! This Ten must be from the Golden World as well, then?

Really?! surprised Xue had mostly given up on learning to read; though Des has tried to teach him, he didn't really understand. But he would like to learn, and he'd be soooo grateful to Meirou if she would teach him! And in return, he could teach her to, um, catch monsters? Not that Xue has caught any yet. sweatdrop
... yeah, Xue doubts that a chocolate book would last very long. But it would be a lot of fun while it lasted, and even more fun eating it!
Grim-what? confused Is that a kind of monster too?
Well, Xue has been living in Gaia for years, he notes airily, so he's just had more time to make friends. He is sure that Meirou will make plenty of friends too- Xue will see to it!
Oh, Ten was very nice! She said she was going to be a teacher at a school Des was looking at (and never went back to, he notes with a mental sigh). Since she was new in Gaia too, he and Des showed her around. He told stories about Gaia, and Ten told stories about the Golden World and Dragon Knights. Her stories were much more exciting, full of adventures and monsters! And Xue think it helped make Ten less homesick, so it was good for everyone! biggrin
After thinking for a moment, Xue looks at Meirou with nervous interest. He isn't sure he should ask this, but he is really curious... would Meirou be upset if he asked about the Golden World?

Meirou would be more than happy to teach Xue, or at least help~ It cold be in exchange for introducing her to his friends! Yes, Yes!
Grimore. It's a really old and...fancy book. Dusty sometimes? And BIG. Sometimes it has pictures of the monsters in it!
Xue is such a good friend indeed! Meirou is so lucky to have him there to help her.
So Ten is also a Porcelain....Meirou thinks this over for a while. A teacher, huh? ...What KIND of teacher? Meirou is a bit apprehensive about this, because of her past experiences...with...teachers.
Meirou doesn't mind at all! Questions are meant to be asked! That's what Meirou's mother always said! ...She thinks. Meirou's mind is so full of Gaia, that she's forgotten a few things. gonk Must. Read. Books!

Wow, Meirou is so nice! Now Xue is really excited. While he doesn't really mind not knowing how, since all of his books are mostly pictures, it would be fun to see what other books are like. If Meirou enjoys them so much, they must be cool!
Oh, a BIG book. Xue understands. Some of the books Des has are really big and dusty, but she calls them ledgers instead. Maybe it's a different kind of grim-wore, since they're boring and don't have pictures.
With a wide smile, Xue thinks back. Did Ten say what she taught? Something about games, which made Xue really upset that he wasn't going to that school. But not card games... outside games! Soccer and basketball! Oh, now he wants to go to school all over again, just to play! gonk
Meirou doesn't remember? Xue's smile falters, but he nods. He understands; it isn't like he remembers much about where he came from anymore. He hopes she won't forget everything, though, because this would be very sad.
After another moment's hesitation, he asks another question: does Meirou miss people in the Golden World?

Books with pictures are a good place to start! Then Xue can understand them and know what words go with what! Some books are good, but others can be really bad. sweatdrop
Meirou nods. Probably so.
Oh, Gym! A gym teacher. Meirou thinks this over for a bit. She MIGHT be ok, then....Might.
Meirou does remember a lot, but some minor details she has forgotten. She pats him on the head to reassure the young boy, Meirou will definitely not forget everything! She is sure Xue will one day remember. Memories may go away for a while, but surely they'll come back!
Meirou does miss people in the Golden World. Like her parents and friends. She really doesn't miss the teachers, but that's another story. The girl takes the moment to think about how things are going without her there......

Words? Come to think of it, some of his books do have words! But Xue has mostly ignored them in favor of the pictures, since those are easy enough to understand. The only words he knows are 'danger' and 'hazardous' and, of course, his name. Xue flips a few pages of his book and points to the side of one drawing. He needs to sign his work!
Yes, gym! With all the games and running around! Xue is sure that Ten isn't a bad teacher. Maybe Xue can introduce her sometime.
Oh, Xue is very impressed! He doesn't remember anything about where he came from, so the fact that she does means she must have a very good memory! The fact that he doesn't remember is why he's curious, and now he knows that he's definitely asked the right person.
... though maybe he overstepped a bit. Quickly, Xue asks Meirou if she is liking Gaia. She said she is staying with someone called Kanna, right?

Well that's a good place to start, Meirou smiles. Knowing some words already will only help.
That would be nice. Meirou would certainly like to meet Ten as well as the rest of Xue's friends and his sister.
Meirou gives a small smile, nodding. She is liking Gaia, and living with Kanna too. Though she's usually at practice. But soon, she's going to take Meirou on a trip to the libraries around here! 'Cause she'll have a week off!

Yes! Xue nods cheerily. Des made him learn to recognize those words, so he wouldn't accidentally eat something bad for him, or go someplace he's not supposed to go. And it's worked, so far! Although neither of those words is on the box of laundry soap, which does look a lot like powdered sugar... xp But Xue has learned to tell the boxes apart now.
Xue would like to introduce them! And to Nusumu-oneechan, and to his brothers and sisters at home! He counts them on his fingers, finally holding out all five fingers on his left hand, and wiggling three on his right that he isn't sure about. And there's Des, of course. Sometime Meirou will have to come over, then!
Libraries? Xue's face falls; the idea of libraries is not as exciting to him as science museums or symphonies or playgrounds. But if Meirou will enjoy it, he is glad that she will be able to go and have fun!

Oh dear. Soap does look like sugar, but nothing near the taste! Or, at least she's heard so...Never tried it.
Wow. That's a lot of siblings! gonk Meirou is in awe of such a large family.
Libraries are Meirou's form of entertainment, sometimes. This one Kanna keeps on talking about apparently has a fish pond in it! Meirou is exited for that, as she loves fish.
The girl nearly jumps as the clock tower chimes, looking up at the time. Goodness! Kanna will be off work now and wonder where Meirou is! gonk Will Xue be alright here? Or is the adventurer in need of a ride home?

Well, Xue can tell Meirou that they taste nothing alike, so she doesn't ever have to try it for himself. It is not an experience he would wish on her. xp
It is a lot! Xue is very lucky, even when some of them don't pay attention to him. But not everyone is a sibling; there's the ghosts, and the little cup girl... and Des isn't a sibling either, because she takes care of eeeeeveryone. That's hard though, so Xue and everyone helps out. When he's not out hunting monsters, his specialty is laundry (now that he can recognize the soap box) and helping in the kitchen.
If it has a fish pond, it is unlike any library Xue has ever been to! And he's been to a few, despite the fact that he can't read.
Xue is also startled by the chiming. Has he really been out that long? If he doesn't get home soon, Des will be worried about him. gonk He will be okay though, because he has his train card in his bag, so he won't have to walk all the way back. Thankfully. sweatdrop

It's good to know Meirou won't make that mistake!
Ah, so Xue lives in a big household...Kanna only has an apartment.
It's amazing! At least, Meirou hopes it will be. She'll tell Xue all about it!
She's relieved to hear Xue'll have a way home. Meirou waves, having to get going as well.
"Have a safe trip home!" She chirps, starting back towards the symphony.
