They made excellent first mates. XD
The rats of whom I speak no longer walk this earth, sadly... sad My last boy passed on in September of last year.
But soon I'll be adding some new baby crew members. biggrin
Miss Tok, no need to worry; my rats were the sweetest creatures ever unless you harmed me or scared them. (^_Q)

Well, it's more like they trained themselves. Severus decided he was going to be my sole protector one day when my brother made a sudden movement near me and the cage, and Sev just launched himself from a faraway corner and bit my brother's finger. He grazed the surface, and it did bleed a little.
Lol, bro didn't complain though, cos he knew that Sev was just scared. Bro rarely came round so Sev was not used to him being there.
I think he thought bro was going to hit me or something, but he was just reaching up to scratch his nose. Ever since, Sev was always tense when he was around. And he was pretty stealthy too, thus earning him the endearment "Ninja Rat" XD
I had gotten both boys (my other was Remus) at the same time from a petstore, so who knows what might have occured in their lives before they came to me.

Cute! I've a friend who owns a ferret (well, a few I think, can't remember as it's been awhile since I've seen her).
I used to want one but I heard they could be quite temperamental, and that they're also high-maintenance. But they look so adorable. biggrin

Flying Rats? That immediately makes me think of pigeons. I think rats and pigeons are cute, even if they may be likely hosts of numerous diseases, plus the whole "chewing up all your stuff" and "pooping everywhere" business.
And those steampunk houses.... That's the last straw! I'm going to take a welding/metalshop class! Just need to find one and scrounge up the money to pay for the class and materials.

I like pigeons as well. They seem to follow me everywhere (o_O)
I can also imitate one quite well if I'm feeling silly enough.
The oddest one I ever saw was this sort of cinnamon-and-white coloured one with light eyes. That was a very rare colouring, and I never saw it again after that. I couldn't believe it... a ginger pigeon! XD
If I ever win the lotto (not that I play; suppose I should start then), I'll commission a house from that site. biggrin
