Terisa nodded, reassured that Aydin was feeling better, "That's good. I'm sorry you missed the Hatching though.... Aren't you worried that your dragon was in this clutch?" A few seconds after she said it, the girl realized that that probably wasn't a great thing to say, and she bit her lip, worried that she had upset the boy....
Looking up at Dusen, Terisa seemed to finally realize where they were and how strange this would look to anyone returning from the feast, "Oh! Um, yeah, you're right...." Using the wall to help her, the dark haired girl stood up. Absent-mindedly, she pulled her hair back, tying it behind her with a leather thong. She smiled at Aydin, "Yeah, there is a girls' side and boys' side and we're really not supposed to go to the others...." She laughed a bit, happy that she was comfortable enough to have a conversation.
She looked around a bit more, trying to decide what to do, "We could go to the common area...." Her nerves were coming back, afraid that she was being ridiculous to suggest that they wanted to continue spending time with her. To preempt the rejection she was expecting, she said, "But if you need to get unpacked or something, the boys' side is through the other door." She indicated the entrance with her right hand, lowering it when she realized that she was still a bit shaky.

"The common area sounds good," he answered. "It's not like there's much going on right now anyway. It should be mostly empty, I bet. What do you think, Aydin? Do you have to unpack or can you spare a bit of time to spend with us?" He grinned at the boy, teasingly. "We should enjoy our time off while we have it. I'm sure somebody is just waiting to give us more chores."
He wasn't really joking about the last part. It certainly seemed to him that every time any of the candidates had some time free, another chore needed to be done.

Aydin smiled slightly at Terisa, though, and shook his head. "I don't think it works like that... the dragons know who their partner should be, so if we weren't at this Hatching, it only means our dragons weren't either."
Then he glanced between them and nodded at the suggestion of going to the common area. "Uhm... Just give me a moment to leave a note for my brother and he can join us there if he gets back," he replied, holding up a finger. "We pretty much got here and then were led to a room, so all our stuff is still in there. I have no idea if that's where we're staying permanently or not..."

Terisa nodded, heartened by the boys' reactions to her suggestion. Laughing a bit, she said, "Yeah, I think everyone else is at the feast...." At the mention of food, the girl's stomach contracted, reminding her that at some point before the day is over she should get something to eat. She was just as happy to wait until after the crowds of people were gone though, so she didn't say or act on her stomach's opinion. She smiled at Dusen's comment, "Yeah, there are always more chores to do.... At least we get some time off until everything settles down." With that she started moving towards the door leading to the common area.
Aydin's words reassured her that neither he nor his twin had missed their chance, and that there was still hope for the rest of them. "All right, it's just through this door, you can't miss it. If I can remember where it is, I'm sure everyone else can find it easily." She smiled again, for some reason feeling better about being honest with her inability to find anything in the Weyr.

Dusen grinned. "I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person who gets lost here. It's just so big." He turned towards the door, and opened it, holding it open for the other two.
"Maybe if we're lucky, we'll find snacks. I thought I heard somebody mention that there would be some in the common area." He shrugged. The rumors weren't always accurate, but it would make sense. Not all of the candidates would want to go and socialize at the feast, and it would keep the kitchens from being overrun by hungry people, at least for a moment.

"Snacks sound good to me," Aydin replied with a quick grin. Unlikely as that was after having felt so sick not too long ago. But he'd always recovered from things fairly quickly (kind of had to, living on a farm)... so he wasn't too surprised that he was hungry now.
And with any kind of luck, maybe they'd run into Kadri too so his twin wouldn't come back to find him gone and worry too much.
