Soq's name: Dubh Sidhe
Means "dark fey" in Gaelic
Pronounced "doo - shee"

Soq cert: Cert
Soq uncert:Uncert

Personality pre-cursing:
Mysterious and enigmatic, it always seems like there is more going on in her mind that she lets on. She’s generally quiet, but when she speaks it is velvety and low. She has an almost disturbing lack of empathy, either unwilling to or unable to relate to most other Soquili. She is pointedly interested in life and death, equally enamored by the sight of a blooming flower as she is by the sight of a decaying carcass. Being a ground Soquili, meat has no appeal to her as a means of food, but the urge to hunt has overcome her a few times. As of yet, she hasn’t acted on it. Due to all this, she has a hard time making friends, as most other Soquili find her creepy, but when they do talk to her, she outwardly seems friendly enough in conversation, though her they may wander into dark subjects quickly if she’s allowed to lead the conversation. Sidhe also perfers twilight and night to the daytime, and tends to sleep during the brightest hours of the day.

History pre-cursing:
Sidhe’s memories start when she was a young filly, alone in a field of wildflowers. She remembers nothing before that. She woke up alone, no other Soquili in sight. It was the middle of the night, but the full moon was bright enough that it made the whole field illuminated. She had blood on her hooves and a bit splattered on her body, but no indication about who it was from. She was uninjured herself, and just a small filly, which it make it nearly impossible for her to have been the one inflicted. She went family less from there, staying with a benevolent mare for a week or two at a time before moving on. She’s been drifting ever sense, and long forgotten to care about her life before the field.

What is CuterThanYou?:A fashionable bag lady
Pelt preference: coyote or catwalker (surprise me)

Prompt Response:

"A have a story I want to tell you," the mysterious man said to her. Dubh Sidhe had never spoken to a two-legger before, but something about him intrigued her. "You see, this woman had a tame Soquili mare, she had raised since the horse was just a small filly," he started, looking directly into Dubh Sidhe's eyes. "She made blankets, you see... and her Soquili helped her carry them to the village to sell. This mare loved her human so much, she never would complain. She did her duty like any devoted little horse would." Dubh Sidhe shifted her weight on her hooves as she continued to listen. "But the woman, she kept putting more and more blankets on the overworked mare's back. And one day, she said 'please, no more.' The human woman was so angry, she said back to the mare, 'Are you not strong? These blankets weigh hardly more than air.' So the mare succumbed, and let her load more blankets on her." The man paused again, smiling a strange smile at Dubh Sidhe, who was absolutely entranced by the story. "But one day the woman, as she lay yet another blanket on her mare..." SNAP, the man clapped his hands together suddenly and unexpectedly, causing Dubh Sidhe jump. With a satified smile the man continued, "her back snapped, and she died instantly, right there in front of her human."

The metaphor of the story was not lost on Dubh Sidhe. Just a few hours earlier, the lonely mare had approached a handsome young stallion that had wandered near the thicket that she called home. Painfully shy, and socially awkward, the encounter had not gone well. The stallion seemed irritated by her presence, and made a quick retreat. This was rather par for the course for this eccentric and disturbing mare. While beautiful, she had a quality to her - a dark, unnerving aura that caused most Soquili to avoid her. Dubh Sidhe had grown a thick skin over the years, but tonight the stallions rebuff had gotten to her, and she shed her first tears in many years. This is when the dark two-legger had approached her.

She felt an instant connection with this man. He seemed to understand her...she could just feel it. He had answers, and Dubh Sidhe was ever-so-willing to learn them from him. After the story, he offered her a dark gift, and she accepted, without fully understanding exactly what the consequences would be. When the powder had first touched her skin and singed her fur-it hurt. The smell filled her nose and a wave of nausea had overcome her. But as her body reeled it seemed to grow stronger. Lights became brighter, colors more prismatic; smells and sounds painting a chorus of sensations across her brain. And a single thought running through her head - revenge. She was able to track him down - the stallion that who was so quick to brush her off earlier that day - quite easily. Nose to the ground like a beast on the hunt, she found him quickly: lazily grazing in a field amongst his small herd.

Seeing his eyes widen in fear as she charged him was satisfying. Sinking her teeth into his throat was like being reborn. It was if she had never tasted anything before; she had never felt so alive or right about anything before this. The feel of his hot blood spilling over her coat made her shudder in pleasure. She sound of the screams of his family watching was music to her ears. She watched him fall to the ground, his life draining out of him, staining the grass as it pooled around where his throat used to be. By now she didn't even remember why he looked so familiar. And she didn't care, either. Nothing else mattered anymore. She was doing what she was born to be doing. She would fill her belly with his corpse later, for now - her eyes turned to the fleeing herd-members - there were more games to play.

Soq's name: Leraje
Soq cert: ~X~
Soq uncert: ~X~
Personality pre-cursing: Confused, angry. Not very nice, but not confrontational.
History pre-cursing: When her mother tried to kill her as a basket, the little Leraje had a feeling her life would not be good. As a foal, she was kicked and abused, and is sometimes not as fast as she should be as a result. She roamed the lands for awhile, eventually meeting her grandmother, who has given her purpose to try and rule the world as the Queen Kalona. She is very slightly insane.
What is CuterThanYou?: A fashionable bag lady!
Pelt preference: Surprise me!
Prompt Response: Lean muscles stretched and pulled as the mare moved smoothly through the carnage. There was a beat pounding in her veins, the siren call of a war drum. The urge to run across the vast plains, searching for hot blood, was almost unbearable. There was little she remembered, but the feel of blood spurting through her jaws, the warm life beating down her throat, was the ultimate sensation. A shudder rippled through the powerful body, pleasure and delight.

The echo of screams still lingered in Leraje's ears, and to her, it was now the sweetest music that could play. She didn't remember why she was there, only that she had to now move on, and sow her rich seeds of decay. They had run from her, as she had been told...but who had told her? No matter. They had run, and begged, and she had chased them down, ending their lives. Freeing their souls from this cruel world -- the world that she would now make.

Coming from her trance, bloodshot eyes fell onto a corpse. It was brightly colored, much like the other Soquili. This mare...the feeling here was familiar. The blood from this one must have been especially rich, especially glorious of a kill. The mangled wings spoke of perhaps a viciously difficult kill, and a cause for triumph. Bending, the new Skinwalker leaned to strip feathers from the bones, spitting them on the ground, and then her horns ground into them. This bloody decoration completed, the mare screamed her delight to the night's sky.

A soft rustle nearby cut the cry off halfway, and alert senses turned towards it, body rigid now. The stance of a hunter, searching for its prey. Uncontrolled, a low grumble of a growl slipped through her lips, rumbling in her throat. Leraje crouched low, pretending to be occupied with the corpse in front of her face. The blood and meat would usually distract her, but the power of the hunt, the thought of fresh blood flowing over her lips and flesh was too irresistable. A leathery wing flapped lightly, and an ear flickered. There! Lunging forward, she dodged the feeble kicks, barely feeling when one grazed her flank.

This only made her more agreeable to ending this stallion's life! As her teeth pressed down around his neck, claws ripping through his stomach, she felt the blood flow hotly. This was her glory! This was her life! This was to be a Skinwalker!

There were 11 entries, but there could only be THREE...

There were less entries than we have seen in previous skinwalker cursing contests, so the second and third rounds will not be done. Thank you for participating though! I'm sure there will be more opportunities in the future...
The premade skinwalkers will be given away, though - more info at the end of this post.

For now, though, Oyohusa has chosen his victims,
and looks forward to the excitement they will provide to the population.
In no particular order...

darkelementaldemon & Kanti Nuttah
Meeki & Lord Soth
Kamiki & Dubh Sidhe

Congratulations - the cursed forms will be dropped off within the next few days by the soquili-arrivals mule.

Those of you without a soquili to be cursed, there will also be two pre-made cursed skinwalkers to win starting tomorrow night, that contest ending on Saturday evening. Look for the thread in this guild, tomorrow.

Thank you so much! Congrats to you too! I was so hoping for it, I think him becoming a skinwalker would be similar to how he became a death knight in the books. Just cursed into the ultimate evil. ;_;
