Stardust had moved in perfect time, stepping back as Ember lunged towards Razz - the exact reaction she had been predicting from the young male when she started her game. Stardust had played this many times and she could read the testosterone with ease now, and despite Ember's usually non-confrontational nature, she had the hope he would act on his youth and hormonal rage.
Ears now perked in interest as she focused her attention on the two males, Stardust sat down and watched vividly to see who had the upperhand. Razz was older and more experienced, but Ember was young and agile, so truthfully either could win. And to her, she had only a slight preference of one over the other that that it had no significant impact on who she would really choose. After all, she wanted the strongest mate and this fight may very well prove who would be the victor.
How do you propose an Alpha fight for his rank then, through peaceful negotiations? she retorted calmly though she turned her head to stare at Nightshade in challenge, posture stiff as she dared him to question her again.

Ember ducked and rolled with the lunge, sending them both tumbling...but Ember tumbling away from the other wolf. He was quick to his feet, immediately propelling himself forward to slam into the side of Razz to knock him back down before he had a chance to get fully back up. Again the limber wolf sprung backwards, giving him enough room to react and a few seconds more to plan his strategy against the older wolf. The fury remained in those brown eyes, but more calculating, more cunning now.
Adrenaline kept him from feeling the small rip in his shoulder...which was thanks to his opponent's earlier decision to turn Ember's lunge into a head-on collision. The male was not concerned, as he was not the only one already with an injury - Ember's jaws had snapped shut onto flesh just before the other male jumped away, so he got a nice chunk of flesh and fur from his shoulder as well. This other wolf may be more experienced, but Ember wasn't a pup anymore. That may not put him up to par with his opponent, but he had youth and vitality on his side, and a speed that he knew was a cut above the rest. His mind was as quick as his body, and his footwork was top-notch for his age. That being said, he quickly shifted his backward-momentum to the side, his feet digging into the dirt as he forced the muscles to push in the opposite direction. This allowed him to dart to the left as Razz prepared another attack and took him out of the wolf's immediate sight, and it was there that Ember took the opportunity to lunch again, fangs prepared to rip into whatever he could grab.

Razz let out a barking snarl as teeth dug deep into his fur, so this was how far he was willing to go. Razz ignored the wound moments later right now there were far more pressing issues than this would-be-scar. Watching as Ember jumped back and to the side, his ears following his earlier momentum, another deep snarl erupted from Razz as he watched him jumped into his peripheral vision. This time speed would have nothing to do with it, Ember was becoming predicable continuing the deep snarl he was emitting towards the other wolf Razzledrop feigned a blind spot. Rushing into the direction he was facing as Ember's teeth bore deep into the end of his tail. Letting out a quick howl, Razzle furriously swung his head around digging his teeth into the side of Embers neck furious growling growing deeper and deeper with every breath. Ignoring the slight snap at the end of his tail he pressed his teeth tighter together, putting pressure on Ember in an attempt to force him to the ground.
Sure Razzle was slower and didn't think quite as fast as the normal wolf, but he was lucky his large bulky muscles made up for his lack of speed with an intense amount of strength. That was why he had turned Embers lung in his direction into the full on collision, he was far more capable head on in a situation than sitting back and waiting.

Well, this was an awkward position that Razz had managed to put them in. Clearly, if Ember was as predictable as thought, the other wolf would not have done what he just did...because he would have predicted Ember's response.
Razz didn't have to force Ember to the ground - Ember allowed Razz to do so, with only one slight modification. When Ember let his weight fall, he rolled with it....an easy enough task given how bent both their bodies already were, since Ember had Razz' tail and Razz managed to bend all the way around to grab Ember. He made it almost too easy to make them both fall, twisting himself like that and bearing down so hard - his strength actually worked against him, that time. The red wolf's move sent them tumbling, with Razz' grip loosening enough so as to allow Ember to break free and come to his feet on the other side. The torn skin on the back of his neck stung as the meat beneath his fur was exposed to the air, a much more potent feeling than the barely-noticable ache in his shoulder.
He wasn't going to lunge again. He was faster, and clearly, meeting the other wolf head-on would only help Razz....so he jumped away and watched Razz as he stood to his feet, Ember's legs poised to move the second Razz showed what he was to do next. His mind and his reflexes would be too quick for the competitor to simply grab his neck again...which was good, because Ember had a feeling that a second connection on that area would sting just a bit more.

Okay, since people seem to have problems with powerplaying, let's go over how to properly roleplay. First, you should probably do a little background reading and take into account each character's strengths and weaknesses and roleplay accordingly - aka agile wolves evade easily but rarely do much damage, strong wolves do not hit often but deal a lot of damage when they do. Second, I don't care how talented or experienced your character is, because you are not God and your characters cannot dodge everything.
Next, you should avoid throwing in multiples moves into one post, such as "My wolf lunged, stepped back to evade a counter, then feigned to the side and turned to attack your wolf's neck, and threw all his weight to knock your wolf down" because this is obviously powerplaying. What you should be doing is posting something like, "My wolf lunged towards your wolf's throat"; and then leave it open for the other person to respond with, "My wolf tried to dogde, but your wolf nipped my wolf's shoulder instead. Then my wolf wiggled out of your wolf's grasp and lunged towards your wolf's nose." And so on.
Now, let's try roleplaying the proper way or I will be forced to referee this battle. And it will not end pretty.

((OoC: I'm sorry star, and arctic))
Razz shook his fur in an attempt to rise from the ground after their tumble down, his front right paw stinging from having been bent in an awkward position. Putting most of his weight on his left leg Razz rose into a sitting position. He obviously needed to think things through, Ember was faster than him possibly thought faster. Ears twitching back and forward again, and most likely wouldn't make the same mistake twice. But then neither would he, his best bet would be to plant all four paws on the ground and remain rooted there. It was the only chance he would have against such a speed talented wolf. Curling up his lips and barring teeth he growled again raising into a full standing position facing Ember, his claws positioned to keep him rooted there should Ember attack this time. Ears pointing forward, Razz waited the younger wolfs next move.

Mmmmm...part of his mind told him to stay rooted to that spot, and force Razz into making the next move, but the rest of his mind told him that the ball was in his court, and Razz wouldn't move until Ember did so. Though he had a good feeling he could handle whatever Razz tried to pull, and react accordingly, he didn't want to underestimate the older wolf...despite his youthful arrogance pushing him to do so. No, no, stupid showoff-y antics would get him nowhere. He would simply have to make a move, and hope he was quick enough to counter whatever Razz came up with.
He kept his rich brown eyes locked with his opponent's eyes, slowly walking in a sideways motion as he went to place himself between Razz and Stardust, who was standing off to the side. There was no real motive in the move other than to make the wordless statement that Razz would have to go through Ember to get to Stardust, and the red wolf had absolutely no intention of allowing that to happen. His growl remained low and feral, and though he thought about speaking...he wasn't sure how his voice would come out. So, he stayed quiet, thinking and considering as their stalemate went on. He took a deep breath, loosening his muscles and reevaluating his focus on the matter....and then he sprung, leaping with an open jaw at Razz' shoulder.

Aha, so this was the game then? He lowers his head calmly before Stardust, keeping one eye on thew two fighters. My apologies, Alpha. I didn't read your intentions clear enough. His full attention returns to the pair fighting and he contents himself to merely being an observer. They weren't concerned with his presence any longer, so surely he could watch this battle of dominance and store it for later memory. If he'd care to remember it later, at least.
From his position, it seemed as if they were fairly even. Speed and youth against age and strength, so who would be the voctor n this one? His tail idly flicks and he spares another glance at the female to gauge her reaction towards the pair in the short moment that neither made an attack.
If he had eyebrows, one surely would have raised at Embers clear display of placing himself between Razz and Stardust.

Stardust watched the battle with growing excitement, blue eyes staring intensely at the two fighting wolves as she considered their moves. Razz would have been the likely victor as the larger and more experienced, but Ember had a youthful confidence plus exceptional speed that could be used to his advantage if he took the right actions.
At the moment, however, the two males looked to be evenly matched. What could possibly determine this match was who could last the longest, or if someone took a misstep. But as their fighting settled down, Stardust glanced at each of their movements, ignoring Ember's move as she considered their reserves. They were both tiring, clearly, and Razz had been injured, it seemed. To be honest, she had expected Ember to suffer the first injury.
What an equal match of such different strengths, she commented quietly for Nightshade to hear. Stardust waited patiently to see who would make the first move.

Razz did what he thought best barring his claws as roots into the ground to stabilize him, tensing his muscles as to imitate a solid brick wall. Preparing once again to bite down on Ember a second time, placing his injured foot forward so no pressure would be placed on it he continued to growl. He wasn't one to back down even if it was only instinct and nature that drove him to act the way he did now. Folding both ears back waiting for Embers collision. And then it came full on, dead into him just as he had predicted it would. Twisting his head only slightly as to follow through with the second powerfull bite.
yes and im sorry, im having a rather hard time coming up with how to roleplay a fight between two wolves this is a real stuggle to do.

Ember had put all his weight behind the bite as he clamped down on the flesh, and knew that the beating he would receive in return would be difficult to handle...and it was. The searing pain that ripped into his own shoulder blocked all thinking for a split second, overtaking his senses and nearly making his vision go white with the force of the impact. The red wolf forced himself to recover quickly, and instead of taking the lock-jaw, solid approach that would certainly serve Razz better, he decided that the best form of action would be to shake and get himself away from the other wolf as quickly as possible and while inflicting as much damage as he could muster, because allowing Razz to hold him for too long simply could NOT be good for his shoulder.
Ember shook his head violently in an attempt to force the other wolf to loosen his grip, at the same time shredding the flesh at Razz's shoulder.

Remaining firm in his step, Razz let out a load deep growl. His blue eyes narrowing in hate towards the younger male wolf. Clamping his teeth even harder down into the younger wolf as he started to shake violently for freedom. As the two of them shifted, weight was placed on Razz's weakened paw forcing the emerald green wolf down onto his side. Still remaining clamped to the younger wolf a deep whimper escaped him. Ears folding back against his head he was sure he was going to loose this battle now, but in turn had at least gained knowledge of where he now needed to work on. He wouldn't be able to face Startdust now, and that thought seemed to spark a whole new form of energy and rage within him. Letting go of Ember, Razz separated himself from the wolf backing up and pulling himself upright once again. This time placing himself between Star and Ember letting a snort escape his nose.

Stardust watched the entire battle with fascination, mentally making notes of either's strengths and weaknesses. But she had to admit, there was a spark of frustration at seeing each of their reactions which was not always as she had predicted. As such, the advantage of the battle was clearing shifting to one side, which slightly surprised her and probably many others if they had been watching. The stronger of the two males was visible to her now, though it was a very close match. No doubt her future mate would be faced with many challenges to come.
Pinning her ears slightly when Razz stood in front of her, Stardust glanced at Ember briefly as if telling him that now was his chance. And he had better make it count if he really wanted to prove himself worthy of standing by her side.

Ember's breathing was heavy as he drove his stare into Razz' eyes, facing the wolf who had put himself between Ember and his prize with blood dripping from his maw. His body shuddered involuntarily, only enough to be visible, in response to the gaping, nasty rip in his shoulder. He was still Ember, though, so as the adrenaline began to slow, he began to grasp a sense of his normal self, a calm...only now, it was a calm driven by the power that came with almost knowing he was the one who was going to join Stardust after this. Perhaps if some moves had been different in the beginning, if Razz had not weakened his paw, the scene very well may have been different. But as it stood, it would be more difficult for Razz to turn this around than it would be for Ember to grab it and never let go.
He was not without his wounds, though. His shoulder would not allow him to lunge forward as he normally would, seize victory with a flash of red and white....but that was just fine. The male slowed his breathing, closing his bloodstained mouth as he continued to stare at Razz with strength and anger in his eyes. He moved forward slightly, nearly closing the distance between himself and Razz, knowing that the other would stand his ground. It was wisest for him to do so, after all. Ember was not quite nose-to-nose with Razz, but he was close...and did not growl. He simply stared for a moment, before a single, growled word left his mouth, in a tone that meant his word would not be contested.
Move.
In a blur of movement, Ember ducked down onto his injured shoulder just enough to get his jaws underneath Razz' head, leaning forward with the intent of closing his jaws around Razz' neck. Not with the intent of death, or even of serious injury....but since Razz' hurt foot was on Ember's right (or Razz' left), once Ember closed his mouth on the other wolf and lifted himself again, turning his head, Razz would also be forced to turn his head and put weight on that injured foot...which would, if everything went as planned, bring the other wolf down. Leaning down on Ember's injured shoulder left his unscathed one exposed, and due to the odd angle, it would be quite difficult for Razz to respond by grabbing flesh, much more difficult than it would be for Ember to simply lift his head and claim his victory.
Something could always go wrong. If it did, he would react accordingly. But in that split second when his superior speed allowed him to initiate a quickly, but carefully, crafted set of cause and effect as he leaned in and opened his jaws to enact the ending blow, he knew he deserved this. Stardust had always been his favorite, and now, he was about to become hers as well.

Razz could feel fact he had been defeated, his shoulder slumping a little the submission of the fact Stardust had chosen the younger wolf over him. And yes somehow he had always known he would lose, that he was never meant to be with her. Ears flicking back against the pain from his shoulder and his paw, grief and broken pride surged though him. It wouldn't surprise him if he pulled a stunt that put him into an omega position, it would take a great deal of control to submit to his new alpha.
Thought found themselves racing and dancing around his head, he had caught the glimpse of Stardust flinching back from him and that was more than queue enough. Interrupted from his thoughts by Embers commanding word. And before Razz even had time to react Ember was already below him teeth clenching into his fur, his neck. He could feel as the younger wolf used his weakness to his advantage and Razz let himself fall to the ground.
Both ears pulled back against his head, curling his body into a tight ball. He had clearly lost, and in front of Stardust no less. Resisting the whimper beckoning to escape from him he awaited out the confrontation with Ember waiting for his chance to crawl away.
