Um...guys? Yusuke killed a whole bunch of demons before Toguro. He killed Gouki, he did kill Suzaku (with his final attack, which was supposed to kill him as well, but didn't because of Kuwabara's actions,) he killed numerous demons in the Yukina arc (only a few of which were human-like, admittedly), and I can't remember if he killed Bakken or not, but I don't think he did. Then, of course, there's Toguro.
I think that the main reason Doctor was such a big deal was because he was seriously, completely human. I know that the show goes to lengths to make it clear that humans aren't all good (and demons aren't all bad, or vice versa) but Doctor was the only opponent that he killed and felt more or less bad about, and he was the only human. Correlation much?

Hmm, really? Suzaku definitely died? xD Alright. Then I'll rethink this.
Gouki! Guh, so easy to forget that yucky b*****d.
BAKKEN.
...I would've.
Okay. I'm not really sure where to go with this at the moment. I'm gonna probably start rambling until I find what I might want to say. xD
Demons weren't people to him in the beginning, so Gouki was just a monster - it wasn't until later that demons and humans started to blur a little bit for him, I'd think.
(I was curious, so I googled it - you're right, he didn't kill Bakken - though now I wonder why he didn't...I feel it would've been the appropriate time to do so. If I remember correctly, he was kind of the low-life weasel when he wasn't hitting unconscious Kurama's...xD Begging to get Yusuke's guard down, I think...Bleh on that. D: I'd have shanked the b***h and been done with it. xD)
Well, I suppose I didn't notice he killed. It hadn't focused on the idea that they were actually dying until...well, when they met those mind-controlled boys. And then when he had to kill Tuguro and the whole Genkai dying. Death almost didn't seem so real - even though he died in episode one. xD
It really must've been the creatures he was killing that made it so...okay and normal almost. xD Huh.
Now it just seems weird again. =| If Yusuke hadn't reacted, I don't think I would've noticed if he'd just killed the bad guy like he usually would. This is what I like about Chapter Black. razz You're right, the Doctor wasn't a monster like Tuguro, or some evil demon like Gouki. He was just this guy who was like, corrupted. o.O; What a weird, subtle difference.
It's weird to realize that when you're watching a show, you're biased to the hero. xD He was a different kind of monster :O But I guess Yusuke did look at him differently than a demon. Oh, the innocent prejudice.
xDD I'm still shocked at Suzaku dying. How did I think that didn't happen? Lawl. XD He went out so..."Oh, well, I'm dead. That emotion stuff seems to work, Yusuke." < I mean, I guess it just didn't give me the "Omg, that guy just DIED" feeling. XD
Or I need to take the advice I've been giving myself in the last three posts I've made in response to you. Watch the ******** again. XD

Okay...yes...Yusuke DID kill them...but not REALLY. Like, you know? Okay, that sounds bad and was VERY poorly worded. Like, you're either dead or you're not. It's kinda that simple, but, like...
Yusuke wasn't really thinking of killing them when he shot his Spirit Gun. He was just...fighting you know?....
But then again, I now recall something from Chapter Black Arc. When Koenma was first telling him about Sensui, Yusuke and Kuwabara mentioned it was like them going on the Yukina mission, with humans as the bad guys and Yukina, a demon, as the damsel in distress. So, it's true that I don't think Yusuke really saw demons as people and just as monsters and things that were in his way, thus he didn't see his killings as murders.

Yeah, I'm not trying to say that Yusuke's a terrible person, I'm just saying that he has killed demons before. Personally, I would have killed Bakken as well. (Especially if I was in love with Kurama...HINT.)
I don't consider his kills "murders," either--not any more than I consider war murder. I mean, in all honesty that's what he was facing; war against demons who would have otherwise killed him and then the rest of us (supposedly.)
I am PRETTY sure that Suzaku died. He said something along the lines of, "I lost because you were (human). Feelings are your power. Touché human, at last I understand." And then he collapsed, face-down, on a pile of stone rubbish. So, it's like, he's PROBABLY dead, but there's no mention of it later to say for sure.
Like I said, I hated Doctor so much (didn't he, like, PARALYZE the blonde kid?) that I didn't care much when he died, but I can see why it would have bothered Yusuke.

XD Yeah, I see what you mean. It's weird how easy it is to just not look at something as killing in a sense that makes you realize that's really what it is. xD My mind says "Yusuke hasn't killed people, noooo, he just punches them and Botan snatches them away and puts them in this pretty little prison. D'aww. Look at them rot."
...I'm just nice like that. But you're probably right - Suzaku probably died. xD I don't see why he wouldn't have, either, lawl.
And omfg. D: Bakken was a dumb b*****d - and I seriously, seriously, SERIOUSLY love that part. XD (Hiei's totally beyond pissed look got me giggling. xD)
Well. xD Yusuke seemed to be very glad to not have just killed him right there. razz I think he was looking forward to getting in and ******** with the guy as best he could. Ooooh, sadistic, much? <3 Sexy.
Though. razz Then he carried Kurama. Like a girl. Ftmfw.
Off topic, but shush. razz I really liked that part. xD
ANYWAY.
I hated him too. D: He like, paralyzed him and then SLIT HIS WRISTS.
I KNOW, RIGHT? ******** him. razz I dunno if I'd have had an issue with shooting the b*****d. xD Yusuke might just be nicer than me, though. biggrin
I can see it though - I'm not sure if I know what we're really even talking about anymore. XD

Doctor was disgusting, but I got to appreciate his abilities. That was tight. O_O
Bakken sickened me. I was literally DISTRESSED watching the sequence where he beat Kurama.

Even if I don't consider myself a "Kurama fangirl", I love all mah YYH charries. They are like. Mah fwiends. razz
So, I could've literally crawled through the tv - part of me was going "FINE, IF YOU WON'T DO IT YUSUKE, I WILL." XD Maybe I shouldn't be so attached - but Kurama looked so pathetic. D: <3
And I gotta agree on Doctor's abilities. :O And he didn't personally offend me by attacking one of the boys. >.> xD (just that new guy, and why would I care that much about him? xD) He was horrible and deserved to die xD BUT, I agree. That power was totally ftw.

Kurama was so helpless. I just wanted to cry! Even Koto was like--usually I'm all for blood and violence...but this just isn't right! AND TRIED TO STOP HIM!!! I love Koto. : )
I liked the blonde new dude. He was pretty tight. : )

You know, what Bakken did to Kurama wasn't as bad for me as what Roto (his opponent from the first round) did. I think it's a pride thing.
The new guys were cool, but I almost liked them better as villains, especially Kaito. And I felt bad for the mind-reader.

Kaito as a villian was freakin' awesome. XD He was like, the most amazing guy ever and he just completely got on everyone's nerves! Heck, all three of them just knew how to press their buttons, thanks to Genkai, probably, of course. ; D
I wonder how much Genkai did tell the boys...

I, too, had immense distress watching Kurama get beaten by Bakken, and humiliated by Roto, and molested by Karasu, and all the other horrid things that keep happening to him. Watching Yuusuke help him up and/or carry him so many times always makes me feel faintly like crying. Which has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with my shipping preferences. No sirree.
You know, as much s**t as Yuusuke catches, Kurama's really the pain magnet of this show.

You know, half of me wonders whether it isn't intentional on Kurama's part that he gets hurt so much. XD But then, that's a well-traveled path.

InkMistress You know, half of me wonders whether it isn't intentional on Kurama's part that he gets hurt so much. XD But then, that's a well-traveled path. I've pretty much no doubt that it is intentional. It's the why in all its myriad of forms that makes for such good fanfic fodder.
