The notion of pretty leather designs tickled Emori's interest. If she had to wear work clothes, at least she could do it with a bit of style. It was also kind of funny, trying to picture S'kagi weaving, of all things. No, it didn't suit him at all. She would have laughed aloud and told him as much, having enjoyed this unexpected camaraderie, but his latest words turned her expression grim. "They... they'll know what happened if I don't come back."
Instantly catching onto the girl's distress, Inannath ceased her questing for more to eat and pressed close. Whatever is the matter, Beloved? Why can't we go and tell them? Are you afraid I would misbehave? I promise I will behave properly in front of them!
Emori knelt and gave the dragon a hug to reassure the both of them. "My family... they won't really understand our bond. At the very least, they'll want me to return to the hold and go on like nothing ever happened. At worst, well..." She glanced up at the dragonrider, grimacing. "They'll probably disown me."

He reached over and put a hand on her shoulder gently, giving it a faint squeeze, and let his hand fall again slowly, voice soft.
"I'm sorry." He said, and meant it. "For what it's worth, you'll have us at the Weyr, and of course Inannath."
Maybe because he was sure his mother would never have been able to accept her son doing anything like her husband had, he'd slowly grown out of touch with her, and Coriath was his family at present.
"If you'd like to speak with them I can fly you there, but it's entirely up to you if you want to actually tell them or not."
They'd figure it out eventaully, but he wished very much that they could find it in themselves to be proud of their daughter, instead of angry at her.

She chuckled again, but this time it was weak. "At least I understand how you feel about Coriath, now. I can't think of anything that would make me give up Inannath." The girl took her dragon into her arms and snuggled the green in a manner reminiscent of how one might cuddle a small canine. Inannath curled her neck around Emori's shoulders and crooned in soothing tones. She never thought she'd be so close to any creature, let alone a dragon. But the tiny green brought a kind of joy into her life that she could never truly explain. Her family, though they were still important, faded into the distance where her bonded was concerned.
When the gentle moment between the soulmates was over, Emori set Inannath down rather quickly, suddenly embarrassed. It wasn't her norm to display such affection in front of others. Unable to meet S'kagi's eyes, she twirled a lock of her hair and gazed at the floor. "Thank you for the offer, but I'd rather not see them -- at least, not yet. Maybe later, if I can find the words to make them see what Inannath means to me."

"Coriath changed my life." He agreed, with another soft smile. Maybe that was why he'd felt so invested in seeing weather or not the hatchign went well. It was certainly why he was particularly interested in some of the new Wyerlings.
"I'll send a leather crafter your way if I see one of the one's I'm thinking of. I'm sure they'd be happy to make you something. You might even start a trend among some of the riders." He offered, a very soft tease, trying to lift her spirits. "I should go make sure the class is set up. Have some Klah. I'll see you there."

More klah... at this rate, she'd soon be living entirely off the stuff. She smiled and nodded at the man, grateful for his help. "I'll have Inannath wake me up if I fall asleep again. I won't be late," she promised. With that, Emori went back to feeding her dragonet, wondering whether she would make any friends at the weyrling lessons. Even if she didn't, at least S'kagi and Coriath would be there. That was enough for her.
