"Don't know, don't care... I still don't trust him. How can we? After all, he burned Nibelheim to the ground, killed Aerith, tried to become a god using Meteor to make a large enough wound in the Planet, and then he afflicted all those people with Geostigma two years ago," Blaze stated icily.

The black-caped man walked calmly away from the 7th Heaven bar, allowing the jeers, pointed fingers, looks of hatred and cries of fear pass over him as he strolled through the streets. His expression remained stoic, though on the inside it tore him apart that he'd earned so much hatred.

Sephiroth looked up at the ruins of the old Shinra building, damaged not only by Meteor's fall, but also during his last duel against Cloud two years ago. The man began to leap his way up the once proud building, his eyes closed.

The Mako-eyed man looked at Masamune, its curved blade still within the ground. He sighed in frustration as his body relaxed. "Do you think we were too hard on him? Maybe he really does want to change. After all, even without Masamune, he could have killed us with magic. Or he could've called the blade back to him after he left. But he hasn't."

"Well, as he said, he's not asking for forgiveness, only redemption," Blaze stated. He tilted his head back, looking at the ceiling.

Sephiroth finally reached the top of the old Shinra building and sat upon its edge, looking out over the city below him.

Thoughts over the past raced through Sephiroth's mind as he looked over the city. So many memories... many of them bitter and haunting. "I don't know what I can do to atone for what I've done, but I'll do it, no matter what."

"I'm up here Bella," Sephiroth called down to her. He leapt from the edge, before floating down to greet her, his wing was not showing from his back. His emerald eyes flashed as his head turned to look at her. "Is there something you wanted to talk to me or ask me about?"

"Genesis is partly responsible for my descent into madness. He planted the seeds of doubt within my mind, though I am to blame as well," Sephiroth answered. His face turned to look at Bella, a stern expression on his face. "What we had all those years ago is gone. Put it behind you. You have something amazing with Blaze, he cares about you greatly."

"If you really love me then you will let me go. Blaze needs you now more than I do. His sanity is beginning to crumble Bella," Sephiroth stated. He sighed, his luminous emerald eyes closing. "The strife of recent events of people dying because of the Geostigma, of Deepground's attack on Edge... the constant chaos is tearing his mind apart. Don't let what happened to me happen to him.

"He's finding it more difficult to control Hojo's experiments on him. If it continues, if his descent into madness continues... his transformation may become irreversible. He may be stuck as a pseudo-Bahamut for the rest of his days," he continued.
