It's so hard to choose a genre. I guess the best way to distill it would be to look at my favorites on youtube. Dragonforce - Heroes Of Our Time (power/speed metal) Don't ask me why, I've been on an "epic" kick lately. Grand, soaring, SO FAR AWAAAAAAAAAAY etc etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sza02J1vnmQVladimir Miller - Do Not Reject Me In Old Age (Basso Profundo, Valaam monoastic choir). I love, love, LOVE basso profundos. The things they can do with their voices borders on inhuman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vH0JHUU6H0Bob Dylan - Mr Tambourine Man at Newport 1965 (Folk/acoustic). I just love Bob Dylan. Nothing much to say here-- if you don't know him and love him, chances are you won't. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGlwYnj6udUZiggy Stardust - Moonage Daydream Live (Glam/freak rock). Always kinda been a big David Bowie fan, I love the shows he puts on. Doesn't hurt that he's one hell of a singer, either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9a-8Zs5yXI4Foo Fighters - Exhausted Live (Alt/grunge) Foo Fighters in their prime. Not to say they're not still making good music, but it can never compare to what they were putting out with Pat Smear. And the lives were just amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOeJzmMrNcEBrand New feat Kevin Devine - Degausser Live at Myspace Secret Show (Alt) I've loved Brand New and Kevin Devine seperately for a while, and when I heard that they were doing shows together, I was absolutely giddy. This was one of those shows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVjaISf1HKIAnd finally, possibly my favorite of all of them. The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute (prog/alt) I discovered The Mars Volta sitting, out of my mind, on a friend's recliner at 3am. This is a track that didn't make the final cut of the album by the same name, but it's one of the best. Some people are getting a taste of them from Guitar Hero-- a little annoying, but maybe there will be a few genuine fans to come out of that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPyUKGBMhpgAnyone who decides to check these out, let me know how you like 'em! :]

Phantoms_angel14 I'm a bit of a dancer so all I really need is a good sturdy beat. (NOT that kind of dancer) And a real musician can adjust to any music and make it their own, in my opinion. Besides, what's wrong with a little repetition? That's what a chorus is right? Like I said, I don't listen to rap much, and I don't necessarily count it as "real" music, but I do think that some rap isn't that bad. Then again, I'm not picky. yea, i play the drums, so i can pretty much listen to anything with good drumming or good beats. like, for rap, it seems to be all the same beats, and thats why its to blah for me. and for country, its just not the kind of style that i like in the beats. but heavy metal, classic rock, and techno are my biggies because they have a lot of drumming and good beats. the song Dinosours Go Rawr By Amy Can Flyy, its like a mix between techno and... idk what the other one would be, but its pretty cool.

Cool. I agree with u on that. Have u ever heard ACDC and Led Zepplin have some pretty kewl drummers. Classic rock is where I've some really AMAZING drum solos. More power to you drumming lady. XD
