Wow, this opened my eyes to just how many types are out there. This is wonderful to have somewhere for gathering and information!
How do we pick a team? Or do I just post the ribbon in my signature to show which team?

Here's a big version of the yellow-and-orange ribbon:  [img]http://tinyurl.com/coxbl2[/img] Also, Squamous cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer. Basal Cell Carcinoma is the most common skin cancer, which I guess would get the yellow-and-orange ribbon, Squamous Cell Carcinoma is the second most common, with a red-and-white ribbon, and Melanoma is the least common (but most deadly), with a black ribbon.

Oh snaps, I thought skin cancer wasn't on the list but I totally forgot to look for melanoma. xD
Good thing porcelain skin is more "in" nowadays. Maybe with more celebrities going pale, people won't feel as pressured to tan.

People think of just skin cancer in general when thinking of tanning. They think if they don't go out in the sun and get sunburned that they will be fine. They figure it'll be easily detectable just by keeping an eye on moles. But even though it's rare, Melanoma is so fast-moving and aggressive that it can eat a person alive beyond repair in a matter of three months. That's what happened to my mom. It had spread into her lungs and her brain to the point where there was nothing they could do. L'aventure ne sera peut-être pas si périlleuse.

Wow, that's really upsetting to hear. But I admire that you're taking action because of your experiences. I hope that when I go through something like that, I'll be able to help people like you're doing.
