"Hum... well, I mean, he could be dead. Anyone you've seen once and never see again could be dead, don't you think?" A'kigeni asked, obviously completely missing the part where Zuberi didn't like talking about his father. The leopard boy was a little slow on the social graces, not that he really cared. He was more interested in science than he was people's feelings.
He listened to what Zuberi said about pack life and shrugged, "Sorry, I don't really see the point." He admitted, "Too much work, too many people. Someone is always bound to try and distract you from what you want to do. Sometimes I even think having my family around takes too much away from my research." He admitted, shrugging helplessly. He didn't really understand the point of being around other people unless they were either helping with research, or answering questions.

Zuberi laughed at the leopards lacking in picking up the hint, he wasn't one that was going to get bent out of shape about simple things, like his dad... it wasn't like he ever really cared before, or at least that is what he told himself. "I think that is a depressing way of thinking about it, I don't think they could all possibly be dead, I mean that would be a lot of dead others!" Zuberi thought about this harder..... it wasn't like he had met all the many others, but still he didn't want to think they were all dead.
Moving on to the next topic A'k had mentioned Zuberi thought for a second "I guess pack life isn't for everyone..... I just like it a lot, but then again I don't know anything else." Zuberi had imaged living outside of the pack, but that was manly when he was with Twana, but more often then not he imaged her being with him. Zuberi shook his head realizing he was getting a little bit of track.
Realizing A'k had mentioned something about his research Zuberi became intrigued he wanted to know more, had this leopard come up with some awesome knowledge. Zuberi enjoyed learning more, and maybe A'k would be willing to teach him something. "You do research, like what type of research. And why would your family want to get in the way if you learning? Learning is a good thing."

"Not really. At least I don't think so. You don't meet many other people, and then if you do meet them again, you can be relieved that they aren't actually dead." A'kigeni explained his reasoning. Not that he had met many creatures from outside his family. And he did hope they weren't dead. It was just easy to assume that they were.
He tilted his head a little, "My family doesn't get in the way on purpose. But it isn't something they're interested in, so they constantly have to move away. And I have to go with them... so I don't have time to stay around and do research. Plus, I don't have an assistant, which is also a problem I suppose."
A'kigeni grinned when he was asked about his research though. Now that was something he was actually very interested in! "Everything! I want to know everything about how the world works, so that's how I do my research! Right now I'm focusing on bugs and their habbits, but I think that I'll move up as I get older." He said, nodding his head thoughtfully.

Zuberi listened to Ak's reasoning behind assuming everyone who you had previously met may be dead. It made a lot of sense in someways, but Zuberi didn't want to think about it that way, it just made him sad. He decided it was easier just to let A'k think the way he wanted to, it wasn't worth an argument or anything.
"I understand moving being somewhat of a challenge but don't you feel like you get to learn more the more you see? That's the one thing I don't like about pack life, I feel like there is a lot more out there for me to learn and all I know about is the pack." Zuberi began to wonder if he was the only one who felt like this, maybe he should be more into learning around the pack lands instead of venturing out all the time.
"I think it is great that you want to know about everything and anything. I do to but I don't do experiments I just watch everything from a distances... I don't actually want to get my paws dirty." Zuberi chuckled. "You need an assistant for what you do? Why?" Out of all the things A'k had said to him this puzzled him the most.

"Well, of course I get to learn more, but I can't exactly carry all of my experiments around, now can I?" A'kigeni mentioned, sighing sadly as he bemoaned the loss of his experiments. How would he ever know what became of them once he left them behind?
He nearly laughed, "What can you possibly experience in life if you don't get your paws dirty? You have to dive in and get at all the litle nitty-gritty stuff if you want to get anything done!" He declared, throwing his paws in the air for emphasis. A'k didn't know what he would do if he didn't get down and dirty every now and then... what fun would life be?
Ah, but his assistant. "Well, obviously I need help with the experiments that I can't do all by myself, now don't I?" He explained, "You can't do everything alone. Sometimes you need someone to help you out. That's why I need an assistant who will give me a hand."

Zuberi nodded as A'k talked, he had a great way of making a lot of sense. But none the less he didn't want to experiment in such a way that would get his paws dirty. "I can still learn from just watching others, I don't have to get my paws dirty, I can watch others and see what they do to learn what I should or shouldn't do." Zuberi regonized that it might not be the best way of learning but it was the way he liked to go about things.
"Hmmm an assistant to help, that makes a lot of sense, I guess cause I never do the hands on stuff I never really thought you would need help to learn, other then the obvious, having someone to watch to learn from." Zuberi decided he liked talking to A'k he brought a how lot of perspective to life, it was really neat to think someone this young already had a plan to figure things out. Zuberi still didn't have a plan.

A'k tilted his head and listened to what Zuberi had to say. "Well, watching is all fine and good, but how can you be sure you can do it yourself if you aren't willing to get down and dirty? That's a little silly, I think. But I guess you still have plenty of time to learn... I want to know everything, so I can't wait around." He explained, seeming rather proud of his initiative.
A'k tilted his head, "Well, it isn't really help to learn. I suppose what I really want is someone to help me with the heavy lifting really... climb and gather things from places I can't get to and the like. An assistant doesn't need to know anything. They just have to be able to help." He said with a pleased nod. "And I don't have a teacher... so I fly a little blind. It's good to have someone who can help me out."

"Sounds like you have it all figured out, I am impressed" Zuberi really was impressed back A'k, he seemed to know and understand a lot. In away he was almost jealous of him. " I still think for now at least I will stick to learning my way. I want to know a lot but I don't really want to get down and dirty." Zuberi admitted.
Zuberi glanced up at the night sky, hmmm it was getting close to the time his mom would be getting back from her hunting trip, and truth be told Zuberi really wasn't suppose to be out of the pack. " I had a lot of fun with you tonight, we should play again sometime." Not wanting to be late for his mom and getting rather on the hungry side Zuberi turned to leave without waiting for A'k to say goodbye back. He hoped they would run into each other again sometime, maybe there was a thing or two A'k could teach him.
