Stage on: the appearance of Zoe

Noah had stood at the counter easily. The mid-afternoon air was comfortably wafting throughout the door, providing a fresh scent to the fresh interior. All was well, or well enough - and he was content to be attending his professional matters. As per usual, his hands had sifted throughout his papers. He had searched catalogs for articles of necessity. Whether or not it was desired, he was going to run the theatre as it was intended. He already had the plans; he just needed the schedule.

It would be a delightful turn of events. Of course, he would possibly need a forklift to remove the giant literary tumor seated atop the stage.

He would worry about it later. As it was, he was grateful for what seemed like the break. Or had been a break until he had heard a loud thud against the edge of the desk.

"What are you doing?" Noah had moaned lightly, setting his papers down to glance over the side. It wasn't the first time he had heard such an obnoxious thud pounding away at the edge of the desk.

Seated haphazardly on the floor was Simba. The young boy had ruffled his hair to tend to the newly formed bump. "Pouncing."

"People don't pounce."

"I'm a lion."

Noah had hummed thoughtfully before picking his papers up once more. "Go watch the door." He had pointed firmly, only to glance up and catch the boy begrudgingly staring.

With a roll of his eyes, Simba had done just that. He had walked towards the entry way to peer out at the world ... Just as the rafters and the theatre began to breathe in anticipation.

~
The milk white feathers on Talorian's back wings ruffled as the seraph entered the old Theatre. He didn't really understand how the people at this place even knew who he was considering he'd only been on gaia a short while. Still the man was reluctant to ignore the summons he had received in form of a playbill. He was wary of this place and what might happen in the near future but still it seemed like a bad idea to just ignore the paper that had been so clearly sent to him.

He blinked in surprise but smiled warmly at the dark skinned child who stood just inside the door. " Hello there young one, can you tell me where I might find the owner." The seraph's voice was soft and gentle, he might hold reservations about this place but he wasn't about to take them out on a child.

~

Only a moment had passed before Simba had noticed a funny looking man approaching the entrance. His eyes had bugged for a moment; his shoulders had sank as he cocked a head, trying to configure what it was he needed to say. Oh, of course it wasn't a huge mystery. He needed to say 'someone is here' - that was what people expected when there was a form of sentry duty.

Yet he had no time. The smile of confidence that had appeared briefly when contemplating standing watch faded into curiosity. He had stared for a while, eying the man who seemed quite a bit taller than him. The owner?

"Oh." He had shifted his bare feet against the floor, spinning on his heel.

"Noah! Someone's here."

Noah had jolted from the quick call. He had just sent the boy to the door. How could anyone possibly show up within the span of a few seconds when they scarcely showed up within the span of a few weeks?

Easing over, the man had looked up to find it was so. A man with white feathers, with wings ... Well, the world was surely diverse.

"That's him." Simba had given a satisfactory smile to Talorian.

~

Tal had been amused but the way the boy seemed to examine him for a moment or so. His kind weren't incredibly uncommon on this planet, though they weren't everywhere either. In any manner it mattered little as the child's staring didn't hurt him and gave the man a chance to examine him as well. Still, he was glad once the one called Noah had been summoned, best to get on with things.

The angel's gaze flicked from the child to the theater's owner, Tal reached into his jacket and pulled out the playbill that had come for him in the mail. " I'm sorry if this is a bad time but I've come regarding this?" He held the playbill up. Tal was still wary but his curiosity was winning him over, and nothing about the place seemed overtly odd at the moment.

~

Noah's face had grown long, the sign of young worry lines etching their way into his features. He had calmly cleared his throat as he stepped around from the desk, his fingers straightening his shirt, brushing away any sign of dust. It was a nervous habit to move. Certainly he wasn't nervous, but ... Taken off guard, surely he was at least that. He'd been hoping to finally book a play and work out the royalty fees. Manage the place like a real theatre.

"Oh, no, no, no. Not a bad time at all!" Noah had declared, and as he looked up the worry had faded, replaced by what seemed to be a cordial demeanor. He had extended a hand as if to offer a hand-shake. "Welcome to the West Theatre. It's always a pleasure when people answer those things. See, now and then those find their way into mailboxes." He had quirked for a moment. "Surely spam-mail isn't the most wonderful of things, but it's ... More of an invitation to people who are interested in responding; an invitation to a free showing of sorts."

Simba had shifted his jaw as he bound beyond Tal. His eyes had focused on the two adults briefly before he had gone to investigate the desk. Let them talk and handle their matters. There were funny things to discover.

~

Tal reached out and swiftly shook the other man's hand. He found Noah's explanation strange but acceptable and wholly non threatening." Well, no point in walking here for no reason." The angel might as well actually accept the invitation and see what this place had to offer. Though he almost swore he could hear Rinali laughing in the back of his mind.

~

Noah had quietly reminded himself to think of better stories. Sooner or later the idea of a marketing campaign was going to catch up to him, but, never mind it - so long as no questions were asked, all would be perfectly fine. He could get back to doing what he preferred. "Well, it's a pleasure for you to join us, good sir!"

At that instant, a clatter had resonated behind him; Noah had winced, not bothering to turn around the moment he heard the sound of fluttering papers and a thud. A firm breath had escaped him as he gave the look of 'kids'.

"You arrived just in time, really - the show for this afternoon was just about to begin in the auditorium." A sheepish smile had crossed his face as he looked over his shoulder, something of sternness returning to his eyes as he found the little tribal boy frantically picking up papers.

"Simba, would you care to escort Mr ...." He had paused, blinking towards Tal. "I apologize, I don't seem to have gotten your name!"

~

Tal had resisted the urge to laugh at the small commotion the young boy from earlier had clearly caused. Pyran had been a handful at that age himself and the angel had long ago become accustomed that sort of thing. Still, it was good to see little ones enjoying themselves in what should truly be their carefree years.

" Talorian, or just Tal" the man said with a small smile, gray eyes filled with amusement. A small shiver ran through him, not of warning but of excitement he truly was curious to see what a performance here would be like.
~

"Talorian." Noah had repeated. A good-natured nod had been given in the aftermath of the statement as he set his hands on his waist. They came from all backgrounds of names, he supposed; it was an interesting repertoire of identities he had gathered through the meeting of individuals.

Noah had eased after a moment of contemplation. The paperwork was everywhere and he dreaded the idea of leaving a delusional little boy to tend to the mess. His assumption to send him off was a good enough idea; it saved him time and protected his things, thus he had given a gesture to the boy. "Simba will escort you to the auditorium for the show just down the hall, Mr. Talorian. I do hope you'll enjoy it." Such funny words ... He was never certain if the circumstance were enjoyable. Surely no one had returned to complain at him --- His thoughts were cut off.

"Really? I can?" Simba had quirked in an excited manner, as if it were something he wanted to do. It was far more interesting than guarding the door. Smiling from ear to ear, Simba had given a gesture of his arm. "Alright!" He had skittered towards the entryway to the hall. "Right this way, right this way!"

~

Smiling Tal followed Simba , amused by the boy's enthusiasm. The child had probably already seen the productions here and his interest was probably a good sign.
~
Simba was nimble on his toes, following the hall's outline as if he had done it a dozen times before. Every now and then he would catch himself looking back over his shoulder and beginning to speak - mimicking the things he had mapped out time and again. Walking down the hallway had always seemed like an important task - much more fitting for a young prince than anything else he had found himself doing.

"So this place is really old." Simba had puffed out his chest. "So old that it took months just to sweep off the dust, and fix up the walls all by hand, and ---" The rafters had began to creak and groan, causing him to sink down. Not far ahead, the radiant light, the two giant doors.

"OH!" He had jumped. The doors. "See those? Those are amazing. They're called doors. Doors swing back and forth, but these ones are huge and ..." He had gone on for a few minutes about the minuscule details before reaching to try and open one. Far too short, certainly, which had left him mildly irritable. Nevertheless, his duty was done, and he felt important.

"Right through there. Noah says you can sit anywhere." He had paused. He had never actually seen what happened inside the theatre; then again, he had also never seen Noah follow anyone inside. He always shut the door on the person and walked away.

"Uhm ..." Shuffling a little, he had tried again to open the door, jumping a few steps until his hand had hooked the knob and twisted it enough to get it to creek. He had pushed it, holding it with his back.

~

Tal had listened patiently as the young boy babbled, partially about the history of West theatre and partially about things within the place that he found interesting. He was certain how a child could be entertained by something so simple as a door but then again it had been a long time since the angel had been that young.

" It's fine I can get the door, young one" Tal said with a smile as he placed his hand on the slightly opened door and pushed. Older and with far more weight behind him he got the door to swing open fully and let himself inside. It felt a bit strange to be in here alone and his wariness returned as he chose a seat near the door in case he needed to make a quick exit.

~

One, two, three. Tal had passed through the doors, which had signaled the cue. Close the door. Simba did just that. He had shut the doors; the inside of the auditorium disappearing from view and signaling the absolute completion of the task - whatever the task was.

The auditorium was enormous. The clatter of the door shutting resonated throughout the emptiness, the seeming sound of a light air conditioning breeze twittering here and there. It was well-lit, as if at an intermission or a lack of preparation, yet was it so? The ground had quaked but a moment as the lights turned out, leaving nothing but darkness until a light had shone dimly on the stage over the large book that had made the spot its home.

Nothing happened at that moment, as if it were waiting for something. Light for light had suddenly shone, following along the path from Tal's seat to the stage's edge, as if beckoning him forward.
~

Tal didn't like this at all, it seemed as if this place itself was taunting him, daring him to go further and further from the safety of the exit. Although it could just very well have been that Noah man hidden in some lighting and sound booth which was why he'd been lead here by Simba so the man could scurry off and prepare this.

The angel had little choice however, his curiosity had the better of him and he doubted he'd be allowed to leave until he saw this through. It was always that way in such things. With a frown and a ruffling of his feathers the man left his seat and headed down towards the stage. Whatever it was these people were up to it would happen there and so his grey eyes scanned the auditorium for as many possibly ways to get to and from the stage as possible, nervous about possible attack and searching for any good escape routes.

Biting his lower lip Tal climbed into the stage and made his way to where the lights clearly wanted him, in front of the book.

~

The book was alive with energy. Its cover seemed to breathe, rising and falling rhythmically as the pages stirred beneath the weight. The lights would flicker above it; the air would churn as Tal drew closer. Then everything had ceased for an abrupt moment. All was still; the lights, the air, the creaking sounds of the rafters. It was an unsettling motion only to be accompanied by a loud thud as the book slammed its cover open, alone without prompt.

The pages had rustled as a great wind rose; the lights had come and gone as they had deemed fit, until finally ceasing with the emergence of a bright light from the book's own pages. Figures had escaped it, swirling about left and right on the stage without aim until a small number had taken form.

there stood a phantom room composed of the lights. A little girl walked thoughtfully throughout what appeared to be a living room, two adults sitting in their chairs and behaving as if she did not exist. They were too busy to heed a little girl strolling along, singing to herself as she explored the objects about the scene. She touched a lamp, trailing her fingers along it until she found a birdcage to distract her briefly.

Something at the front door caught the eye of the little girl, however. She froze for a moment, wandering over to set her hand on the door knob and pull. Without warning, the door had thrust open, a headless man strolling inside with an umbrella in one hand, a small blue bowler hat in the other. The little girl jumps, bewildered, staggering back as she gawks at the bizarre thing strolling through her door.

The headless man seems aimless in his trench coat. He takes a few strides, dropping his little blue hat before finally turning and leaving the little girl alone. She breathes as he ventures away, but is captivated by the object on the floor. Curiosity gnaws at her as she approaches it, picking it up and observing it as she drops to the ground to sit. The hat is raised, falling slowly, slowly down to her crown until it is placed. Within that instant, the two adults, stiff, still, and unattending, begin to float away.

Startled by the magic act, the little girl stares upward. Her eyes grow wide, but before she can react, a band of ghastly white figures surround her...

The book's pages rustled about, drawing back figures clawing at the stage one by one. The regal blue curtain, with its many stars, had fluttered within the great wind. The light from the book had grown brighter, and brighter, until it had finally ceased, leaving the room in darkness ... Until the lights above had once more began to turn on, leaving the auditorium as it had been when Tal had first entered.

Nothing stirred, nothing moved - but there was something new seated upon the stage ... The little girl, and a little blue hat.

( backdated to actuall arrival date)
tal and zoe played my me
Allen played by dgcakes

Tal walked across the grounds towards Allen's house, thinking about how to explain this all to him, The other man had lived on Gaia much longer than he had and was likely used to these sorts of strange occurrences. Still he wasn't certain how Allen was going to feel about him bringing a child home. Said child who was currently perched on his shoulders and babbling about how people here looked interesting and why couldn't she go talk to them?

To be quite honest Tal himself wasn't sure what to do with the girl who name appeared to be Zoe, he'd been a parent before and he could handle that but he;d never raised a girl and more importantly he'd never really dealt with children outside his own species. Still, the theatre had chosen him for some odd reason and he couldn't very well reject the girl. besides he was starting to grow fond of her

Inside, Allen was in the process of pouring over a few 3d set models that had been made up for him and the rest of the higher ups to approve of, seeing as it was to be for one of their next shows. Seated neatly on the couch, he was playing around with the background sets and color options he'd been given, seeing how things looked together and whatnot. After all, the man was one of the final voices on the matter.

" Allen can we talk for a moment?" Tal asked, the white haired seraph calling out into the house once he stepped inside and set Zoe down.

"Sure?" the brunette blinked, looking up at his lover curiously.

Zoe, fidgeting with her hat peered curiously around Tal at allen, light brown eyes searching him for anything of interest

The man smiled a little at the child and waved a bit. "Hey there." he greeted her, tone gentle. Tal wasn't the only one who'd been a father once, and unlike him, Allen had actually had daughters as well as several sisters. "Cha looking for?"

" nothing" Zoe said softly, this man wasn't quite as interesting as some of the people she'd seen so far but he wasn't boring either. " I'm Zoe" she said smiling back at him, some part of her pleased that she was getting attention.

"Nice to meet you Zoe. I'm Allen." he told her with a smile. "If you'd like something to do for a bit, you could play around with the model set I was messing around with. I was trying to see what bits looked best with what. If you wanted, you could try a hand at it?"

The auburn haired girl tilted her head a little and gave him a curious look " what's it for?'

"Some of our upcoming shows. This is for the stage design crew." Allen explained.

Zoe wasn't really sure what that meant but it sounded better than doing nothing " Ok, you show me how?"
"Sure." he moved over a bit on the couch so the child could take a seat and reach the coffee table - he moved it a bit closer since her reach wasn't as large as his. The man showed her all the bits and pieces he had and how to take them apart and mix them and whatnot. It didn't take long, Zoe seemed a fast learner. "Just be careful with the small bits and such - I think you're a big enough girl to be able to handle that. Tal wants to talk to me for a few but you can play around with that and tell me what your ideas for the bits are when we're done. Ssat work for you?"

Zoe nodded and grinned, the child having plenty to do now, so many different peices and ways they could go together. It was more than enough to keep even her entertained, for now.

Tal stood a few feet away smiling in amusement, this was going well, Allen and zoe seemed to be connecting and his lover had accepted her presence rather quickly, although the angel imagine he wanted to actually talk to him about it now.

Allen approached Tal with a smile and led him around the corner into another room partly - not so far as they would stop seeing and hearing Zoe but far enough that they were out of her line of sight, particularly while distracted. "You wanted to talk to me about something?" the man asked calmly. He didn't really seem to have too many questions about why there was a child randomly in his home.

" well usually there's discussion before one brings children home" Tal pointed out " I didn't exactly have a choice today"

"Well I gathered that. You would have told me beforehand if you had any sudden desires for more children, and this is Gaia so having little ones essentially dumped into your lap is perfectly normal. I do believe your son had that happen at least twice." The brunette explained with a smile. He really didn't mind Zoe's presence anyway - they had the room.

" wasn;t quite my lap but close enough" tal said nodding and looking over in the direction of the girl " i'm not, i'm not personally familiar with humans i've read about them, studied on occasion but " he shrugged " i'm not sure how different she will be from how raising pyran was"

"Given how she's currently behaving and what I've seen of your son....probably both a lot less stressful and more stressful at the same time." Allen replied with a shrug.

" How very encouraging" Tal said rolling his eyes a bit. he looked curious " Do i ask rinali to take her clothes shopping? I'm not sure how capable she is of dressing fully on her own and i'm not sure when it stops being an age where my help is welcome considering she's a girl and" he shrugged. Tal was professor and he knew a lot of things but some stuff was beyond him

"I can take her clothes shopping." Allen said, "And anyway, I don't quite trust Rinali's fashion sense on anyone below the legal age of majority." The second part was teasing, and just Allen trying to lighten the mood - he had great respect for Rinali and couldn't care less about what she wore. And consider the things his lover wore also, he had to have a bit of a strong stomach for weird taste.

The angel laughed softly at that " well i suppose you're better suited, and Rinali is somewhat distracted with her cabbage at the moment" vaugly he wondered if his ex wife would kill him for ending up witha child first

Allen reached out to pull the other man to him for a kiss. Well, with a kid in the house at the age Zoe was, random affection from the parents isn't exactly considered at all something worth looking at. So the brunette decided to steal a bit of lip time while he could.

Tal blushed a little but relaxed into it, it was just a kiss and even if they did get caught zoe was goign to have to get used to seeing those

When Allen pulled back after a few moments, he nuzzled the white haired male. "Would you like to tag along when I take her shopping or no? Clothes shopping can be really boring - at least in my opinion - so I don't know if you want to have to tag along for that."
[
Tal shook his head " we had bonding time in the car on the way here , you two should probably spend some time getting to know each other while i set up a spare room and call people" he frowned " do i assume she;s had her shots or doctors appointments or " he sighed part of hom thinks he's almost much rather a baby becuase then at least you just started at the beginning

"Um....that would depend on how you got her. If she just popped out of some item or another, you might have to take her to a doctor to see if she's had them or not. There are people in the area qualified for such things though, so I can make her an appointment."

Tal looked thoughtful " she came out of a play?" how to explain this " there was a book and it opened and then this play thing just showed up on stage and then it dissapeared but zoe stayed behind

"Then a checkup would be a good idea, just to have your bases covered." Allen said with a firm nod.
" Ok that works" the angel wrapped his arms around allen and leaned on him . this was going to be strange for the first little while but he figured they could do this. there were two of them and only oen of her, everything would be fine

"Mmm you should probably not do too much with the room besides getting it set up so she can stay in it. I think Zoe will probably want to play a large part in the set up and look of her room, which we can arrange pretty easily." the man stated, rubbing his lover's back a bit between his wings.

" what if she wants to paint it pink or something, " Tal wasn't too sure about how much creative freedom the girl should have " we're supposed to provide guidelines and acceptable standards and stuff. too much free range is bad" that and the man was struggling to remember what his rule has been for pyran at this age. It wasn't fair to treat zoe any different

"If she wants to paint it pink then she can paint it pink." Allen replied with a shrug, "and considering where she's living, telling her she isn't allowed to have as much creative freedom in design as she wants isn't going to fly. Particularly with me being head of this place."

" there shoudl still be rules, children need rules,... even I needed rules"

"Tal, there are rules and then there are too many rules. And decoration of one's private chambers should be no one's business but your own."

the angel shrugged and nodded " Ok, i just" , he sighed it was all becoming a bit much for him as his mind raced trying to figure out everything he needed to do, all the eventualities he should plan for.

The brunette smiled as he pulled his lover closer. "Relax, baby. How about I take her on a tour of the place as well as taking her clothes shopping and you can get in time for a nice long bath or a nap in the meantime, besides doing the room? It might do you some good."

Tal nodded, " probably a good idea" in his own way the man was set in his ways and massive changes to his routines and the way he did things flustered him becuase he liked to keep things organized

Allen pressed another kiss to his lover's lips then, this one with a bit more tongue. Though it broke off rather soon after, the taller male smiling. "Go relax, I'll take care of Zoe. She's probably getting bored playing with the model now."

Tal nodded and disappeared down the hall, trusting allen to take care of Zoe. truly this was an odd way for his life to be restarting itself, still the angel smiled a little. he just needed time to adjust

The brunette, meanwhile, walked out to join the child on the couch. "How goes it? Come up with any interesting designs?"

Zoe looked up and nodded gesturing towards the model " it looks best this way". It truly did with all the colours making it all bright and and everything having something nice to look at, no boring blank spaces.

"I agree. We shall have to show the designers. I'm sure they'll be very pleased with your ideas. Maybe next time they're coming up with things you can help out." the man suggested.

Zoe shrugged " maybe" even this had a limited amount of entertainment value for the child. still for the moment she was content and smiled at Allen

"Well they won't all be the same, don't worry. Usually there are little models and whatnot to move around but they were having trouble deciding between certain themes." the man explained. "Anywho, do you mind going out again? I need to take you clothes shopping and to give you a tour of the place."

" Ok, I like the car" things were always interesting as they zipped by out the window

"All right, that's good then." Allen agreed, taking the child's hand and leading her outside.

Zoe smiled up at Allen, different from Tal but equally tall and calm without being boring. She thought she might like it here.

Inspiration

Zoe fidgeted in her seat and lets the pads of her fingers run over the top of her blue bowler hat that was sitting in her lap. The auburn haired girl had been left here by Tal to watch a practice of part of one of the shows in progress. The tall white haired angel who cared for her had had to go somewhere for a lecture, whatever that was. Either way the young girl had been left in one of the stage seats to watch the practice, afterwards she was supposed to walk home and Allen would be there to watch her.

With a deafening crack oft thunder like a torrential downpour began on the stage . From a shadowed place up above a performer emerged and hurled herself out into the air making Zoe gasp. The costumed woman fell, a flash of silver in a dark storm, a glistening raindrop. When the woman approached the trampoline below her she flipped to land on her feet and bounce back up like a rain drop bouncing off the street in heavy rain.

Zoe's eyes were glued to the stage as several men and women bounced up and down on the decorated trampolines little drops of water, raining down, splashing up and falling back to the ground. The girl wondered how hard it was to bounce properly on the wet trampoline and if anyone could learn, it certainly looked fun.

The girl's eyes strayed from the rain to people mimicking ball lightning that flew across the sky from trapeze to trapeze it was majestic and nearly faster than her eyes could watch. The sound of thunder reverberated throughout the stage and Zoe could feel every rumble down to her very core. it was as if there really was a storm in the place and it was alive When you were in the storm all you felt was it's power, it's rising and falling waves of energy like the tide.

Suddenly someone from a beam suspended on a silver length of magic silk rope made real lighting flash before Zoe's eyes, bright white with a sort of yellow

afterglow.

Elsewhere on the stage a boy was twirling around. In a white and grey costume with matching long ribbons the ribbon dancer was a whirling dervish, wind incarnate.

He stopped to lean forward and stretch out letting the ribbons flare towards the audience. Turing her head Zoe could see another performer react to the wind shifting foreword and swaying as if unable to fight it's strength.

It was so exciting ! Zoe clutched the edges of her hat tightly as she leaned forward to be closer to the actions, there were so many people doing so many things it was hard to keep track of them all. This was the first time the girl had been able to see part of a show and she wished it had been sooner, this was much more interesting than picking colours and designs to help Allen.

The rain slowly became lighter then stopped altogether, the wind died down and the thunder gave a last almost hollow boom. As the last vestiges of the storm faded away so did a bit of Zoe's excitement, still she was sure it would come back if she was allowed to watch again. Remembering her favorite part as she got up, the flipping and bouncing raindrops Zoe wondered what she'd have to do to one day be like that.

Kids play

PD with deeg

A squirming Mac, recovered from behind the fridge, in her arms Tezza set off through the house looking for her new sibling. The braided girl wanted to introduce Wendy to some of the other children on the grounds including her best friend Zoe and Oliver the goalie on her soccer team.

Wendy was presently seated in her room, putting on a new pair of overalls her mother had bought her and putting her hair in a ponytail. "Oh! Hey Tez!"

Tezza smiled " Hey are you ready to come out and meet Zoe and Oliver?"
Mac rolled his eyes forward and stared at the catgirl intently for a moment.

"Sure." the girl said cheerily, waving her tail and going over to pet the creature in her sister's arms. "Cuteeeeeee."

Mac made a small noise in his throat and flicked his long chameleon like tongue out to lick the girl's nose.

" Mac does that sometimes" Tezza warned a little too late " He doesn't train very well but I'm trying." Mostly the purple furred creature tended to listen only to adults and even then there were time he ignored them outright in favour of what he was already doing.

The other child giggled and smiled. "He's cute."

" He's weird but I love him" Tezza affirmed before asking another question " Where's Wren? We're taking him with us becuase he needs to see people more" in the girl's opinion her brother was too quiet and needed friends. Plus in a way he was still sort of Zoe's as well so she deserved to see him too.

"Last I saw him, he was with Mommy." The girl replied, blinking.

The purple haired girl nodded " Ok well lets go find them and then we can get going." Whether or not mac made the trip would be decided based on how much longer he tolerated being held

Czhichi was in the other room, feeding Teisin and bouncing Wren now and then. She was trying to get the boy more comfortable with the tigress and her cubs.

The green eyed songbird smiled and fluttered his wings on occasion, he looked up slowly when his older siblings walked into the room

Czhichi glanced up. "Oh, hey girls. What's up?"

" We're going to see Zoe and then Oliver" Tezza explained " Wendy needs to meet them ' it was most important that her sister meet these two, couldn't possibly be put off any longer. " And we're out of chocolate milk syrup again"

"All right. I will get some while I'm at the store again. Are you taking Wren?"

Tezza nodded and smiled over at her brother " Yeah he needs friends." Family was important too but you needed to have friends and thus far Wren didn't actually have any.

Wren made small noise at that and reached out to pet Teisen while smiling, she was his friend even if she was a bit scary to him on an instinctual level.

The older tiger leaned up to lick his hand before Czhichi carried him over to his sisters. "All right. have a good time."

Tezza nodded and picked the toddler up, Mac having escaped her arms just moments earlier, despite his protests that he could walk " We will we'll be careful too." The girl promised before carrying Her brother out of the room and motioning with a small wing for Wendy to follow.

Wendy grinned and followed after, excited to meet kids her own age.

Tezza lead the group out of the house and across the ground towards where Zoe lived. Zoe being her best friend had to be the first stop for them. Wren gave a soft sigh and rested his head on her chest, fiddling with the beads on his necklace as he was carried

The tiger girl followed along quickly with her sister, occasionally reaching out to pat his head.

Once they go to the other girls home Tezza adjusted the way she was holding wren and then rung the doorbell. Zoe should be home or at least Tezza hoped she would be

The door was opened by Allen, who smiled pleasantly down at them. "Ah, the other half of the deadly duo." he said cheerily, letting them in.

Tezza smiled back " Hi Mr. Allen , this is Wendy my bigger sister" she explained as she pointed at the catgirl whom had arrived the night before. " I wanted Zoe to meet her.

Wren waved at the man once they were inside he liked Allen and that he wore costume makeup like how Wren himself had special markings on his body, though his did not come off with water

"Hello Wendy. And hello there Wren." he said cheerily, waving to the two.

Wendy grinned and waved as well.

Allen smiled, showing them in. "I was hoping you'd come over. I have a special job for you kids I was waiting to tell Zoe about till you got here."

" Job?" Wren spoke up quietly, jobs were for grown ups of which he was most certainly not

"Yep. Not full time, don't worry, Wren. Just something I need you guys to do." he explained, leading them to Zoe's door so he could knock on it.
"Hey, squirt, your friends are here."

"mmsleeping" Zoe mumbled, the way the sun came in her window it kept the girl warm and cozy under her covers and she wasn't quiet ready to get up yet

"Tezza brought someone to introduce you to and I have a job for you." he replied. "Anyway, are you at least decent? Cause I'll let them in so you don't have to get out of bed if you are."

" Ew why would I be naked?"

"Because you fell asleep after a shower or cause it was too warm for clothes? How would I know. I'm not in there, now am I?" he pointed out, opening the door. "Maybe you were hanging out with Shylock too long and you decided to become a nudist." he teased

Zoe sat up and stuck her tongue out at the man as he opened the door " Shylock is weird" Nice enough but weird and not in a horribly interesting way either.

Tezza laughed at that and grinned over at her best friend " Yes he is but he's a boy and they're always weird" She hugged Wren tight then so he'd know she loved him anyways.

The brown haired boy imply pointed over to his now oldest sister " Wendy" he was capable of introducing people too

Wendy smiled and waved a bit at the other girl. "Hello."

The auburn haired girl looked the newcomer over carefully, well Wendy was certainly interesting to look at if nothing else and she was brought here by Tezza so she must be fairly nice to be around " Hi" she smiled softly as she spoke. Zoe could be friendly , at least until she got bored
Allen leaned on the doorframe lightly, "When you are ready to hear it, your highness, I have a job for you and your friends to do."

Zoe stuck her tongue out again " tell me now" she mock ordered

"Cirque is doing a benefit show that's going to be performed for sick children from a bunch of local hospitals and many orphanages, as well as just being generally open for locals and their children. I want you guys to help Pazquel and Quetzel in their designs."

Tezza, Wren and Zoe all turned their heads to stare at Allen, them? He wanted their help with something so important?

The man smiled. "Yes, yes I do want your help. You are kids and you're all creative. Paz and Quetz could use your help coming up with things kids would like."

Zoe nodded first " Okay, we can do it and it'll be the most interesting stuff ever" becuase really Zoe did not do boring. Ever

Wren giggled at that " I'll help" He didn't much know how useful he'd be becuase he seemed to see things differently than the girls but he'd try at least.

Tezza grabbed Wendys hand and squeezed it " Yeah us too we can certainly be really helpful." Surely with all of them they could make great designs.

Wendy nodded a bit, smiling broadly.

"All right. You might want to grab some of the other local kids, like maybe some of Pyran's or Kyin's or whoever's for help. We have a lot to work with here and different kids will have different tastes so having a bunch of opinions could help."

Zoe gave Allen a look that clearly said she didn't trust the taste or opinions of other children beyond those currently in the room and even then she was likely to try and ignore or override them

Allen gave her a look in response. "You are not the head of the show, Zoe, and you are to remember this. Just because you don't like something or find it boring doesn't mean other children will too. You don't have the final say and if you become too pushy or try to put yourself too forward, I'll take you completely off the job." he said calmly.

Zoe stared at the ceiling for a moment before mumbling an ok.

The man smiled. "All right then. You can head over and see Paz and Quetz at their studio. And remember, the warning to Zoe goes for all of you - this is to be a group effort and no one person is in charge."

Tezza nodded " Kay" being in charge was not exactly in her plans as it was simply working well in a group was the girls goal, she realized at least a little that like Zoe she sometimes didn't much like having to bend to seeing things another's way. But she had to try and work with everyone today and she didn't want Wendy to think she was mean.

Wren tucked his orange and pale yellow wings to his back and nodded sharply , the green eyed boy was not exactly the bossy type.

Wendy smiled. "This sounds fun. I've never helped design things before. I wonder what all they'll let us do."

Zoe shrugged as she slipped clothes on over her night gown then pulled it out, fully changed without having to get naked " I'm sure there's lots of stuff, there's always lots of stuff and" the auburn haired girl grinned at that. really she lived the the most least boring place in the world.

Outside, Allen was waiting to escort the group over to see Paz and Quetz. "You guys ready to go?"

Everyone nodded " Yes"

"All right. This way then. I warn you all before we go, that this is your last chance to back out. This is going to be a LOT of work from you guys and you won't be allowed to just drop out in the middle. Please note, needing to be forcibly removed is still possible however, it will be at a cost to the show and to those who have to make up for that lack of a person, so I suggest you all remember to try and keep at least on semi-good behavior." he gave them the little manditory explanation as they walked towards the building the two designers were to be at. "you guys get to do a lot of work here and will be meeting and helping a lot of people."

" I'm small" Wren pointed out, though at least he was walking under his own power at the moment. He wanted to help becuase doing things for sick people was good but the more Allen talked the more the little songbird was unsure how much use he'd be.

"That's all right. A small kid's help can be just as useful as a big kid's help at times. We need to know things you and some other's your age might like too. You'll probably have less work to do but you'll still have a lot to do." the man explained.

The young boy smiled at that, as long as he was useful then

Inside of the studio, Pazquel - a tall woman with multicolored pigtails that even while on top of her head hung past her knees, and a set of pointy edged glasses - greeted them. "Hey all!" she said cheerily. "This the first batch of youngin's for the design teams?"

The group nodded and smiled, prepared to be as helpful as they could, Zoe tucking her hair into her shirt realizing she wasn't going to want it in her way.

The woman stretched a bit. "Well, gals and little guy, we have a particular plan for a few parts of the show, but other than that, it's mostly all up in the air. We want to keep groups working on things small, so you guys are going to be in smaller groups and you guys will each be helping on one show or two."
