"As close to legal as you'll ever be," intoned Anubis. "At any rate, as long as you are abiding by the rules set down by the coalition of Gods, you can participate fully in all aspects of the Game."
He took a deep breath.
"And potentially win it to any extent that may result from its play."
He cracked his knuckles. "Since you have now been recognized and sworn to abide by the rules, I expect you to begin by following the manifestation codes. You have to the count of five to disappear."
"One."

Loki grinned, and wagged a finger beneath the Death God's nose.
"Now, I seem to remember you saying that starting tonight I may not physically manifest, Anubis. And while it is getting late, there is still light in the sky. When Arvak and Alsvid have hauled all trace of the sun from the sky, then I shall begin to follow your precious code."
The Sly One turned to look up at the window Anubis had glanced at previously.
"Besides, I shall need some time to explain this change to Kayla." he continued, his tone almost suggesting... fondness. "She's gotten rather used to having me about in the flesh."

Caught on a technicality, Anubis had no choice but to allow the god to stay. This was beginning to frustrate him. He waved a hand dismissively.
"Alright," he said, "Fine. You got me."
And then, "I don't care how you do it. Just go. I'm done dealing with you for now."

The somber god seemed quite eager to get rid of him. Loki smirked inwardly. It probably wasn't the best idea to put the god on his guard, but damn if it didn't feel good to rub the jackals' nose in his own carelessness.
"Adjø, Anubis." Loki said, and simply walked out of the alley, whistling merrily through twisted lips.
