The cheetah gave the other a nervous laugh, but nodded so that she didn't seem so uncool. The radioactive cheetah didn't mind snakes really, if they were dead. Alive they were strange and seemed unnatural almost an abomination of all that was good. She had no other reason to dislike them other then their looks.
"R-right~" Pilate followed suit, keeping up with the other in her dance like fluid grace being a cheetah had gifted her. What other treasures would lurk in the foliage. Hopefully anything but another surprise that would make her look foolish.
The cheetah was extra careful with each step she took being wary from the encounter with the scaly.

Tamu had heard it before he saw it.
His ears twitching, he stopped, standing silently, with one paw still hanging in the air. The sound....what was it? It was odd, and as it got louder, it struck fear in the small cheetah. The pit of his stomach was twisting around, and he could feel himself get colder.
Wanting to know what had set off this reaction, Tamu slowly neared the large section of foliage that was concealing the sound. He barely peeked his head around a large leaf when it broke through, obviously upset.
It seemed that a rhino had had the same idea they did by taking refuge from the rain in the jungle.

Pilate had never encountered a rhino in her life, nor had she heard tales of them. When she first laid eyes on it , the cub had no idea what to think other then to start running. But first, Tamu.
"Tamu!" She cried as she made her way over to him. She wanted to run, yeah, but she wouldn't leave another behind for her own protection.

He had frozen stiff in his position. Fear just seemed to drench him now. He had seen these creatures on the plains before, and had seen what they could do. It's sheer size was enough to scare any cub.
His eyes darted away from the beast, over to Pilate as his name was called out. It was like she broke a spell that had been cast upon him, and he bolted over towards her, stopping only briefly to make sure she would come with him. "C'mon Pilate!" he started to run frantically out of the forest on his small legs, looking back for Pilate.

Pilate ran after him, her feet moving quickly and cleverly over the jungle terrain. Right now she was glad that the two of them were cheetahs and not lions or leopards. Thank god for speed.
The rhino seemed to be in their dusts, but the cub wasn't sure. She kept here eyes trained on Tamu as she bolted through the jungle after him. Fear that if she looked back, she'd see a rhino on their heels. She didn't want to look back, she didnt want to look anywhere but at Tamu.

Paws up, paws down, paws up, paws down.
All Tamu could think about was running and not tripping over anything. If he thought about something else, like the giant heaping mass of raging mammal running behind them. Although he didn't know if it was still running after them, as the throbbing in his ears had covered up all incoming sound.
Ahead, the jungle was coming to an end, and the only shelter Tamu saw was a rock with a small crevice the split it in half. Maybe two small cheetah cubs could just squeeze in.....
Before he had time to think about it, Tamu slid into the cool opening, with just enough wiggle room. He peered out, trying to flag Pilate down so she could hide in the rock with him.

Pilate sped through the jungle in a hot blaze fueled by the fact she didn't want to be a cheetah pancake. She dodged vines and rocks and kept a watchful eye on Tamu until he disappeared. For a split second the cheetah panicked , he had been right in front of her and ... oh. It was not a second to soon the cub noticed the flagging. Good thing too, she almost ran right past the hiding space. Quickly, but not cleverly , the cheetah slid into the space. It was a tight fit but the rhino couldn't get to the cubs there.
Still, Pilates heart raced and she panted heavily. Never had she been chased by a rhino, or seen a rhino.

After what seemed like ages, Tamu's brain and senses returned to their normal functions. It was quiet now that the large beast had passed, and his breathing had begun to return to normal. The rush of adrenaline and pure fear had left him with the aches of running so fast and so hard, and the cool rock behind him was a welcome touch.
"Well..." Tamu gulped between breaths, speaking in a half-whisper. "that was fun, yeah?" He tried to make light of the previous situation.

The cheetah girl continued to pant some and only turned her head to the other when she heard him say something. "Fun?" The cheetah still wasnt sure what just happened. It was all still so surreal and far away.
"Haha, " Pilate smirked, "I suppose it was. I don't know if Id do that again though." She chuckled again. The two were alive and had gone threw the jungle on a wild chase, what more could they ask for?
"Do you know where we are?"

It had been quite exhilirating, hadn't it? Even though they could've both been killed, it was a fun experience.
Poking he head out from the rock, Tamu glanced around. He slunk back in, flopping back into his previous position, looking at Pilate. "Not the slightest idea." He was smiling, even though they were lost. He did always tend to look on the bright side of things. "At least the rain has died down." He looked up towards the barely visible sky peeking through the foliage. It's not like they could feel the rain anyway, with so many trees overhead. "So what do you propose we do now?"

The cheetah was fine with being lost. She was after all a professional wanderer. The little streak of green gave the other a reassuring smile before she hoped out of their cozy little spot and took a look around for her self. The coast seemed clear, nothing from the rhino but tracks.
"Tracks," She smiled, "Hey Tamu, our rhino friend seemed to have done us a favor and left us some tracks," The cheetah motioned for the other to join her. From the looks of it the rhino had also knocked over a few trees in his wake as well. Lucky for them not many rhino's seemed to rampage threw the jungle all that often.

"Oh?" Tamu was a bit hesitant to leave the safety of the rock, but after watching Pilate waner about safely, he decided to follow her, slowly creeping out, one paw at a time. "So we can find our way out of here?" A pathway meant he could find the place where he had entered to jungle, and also meant he could leave it sooner. As much fun as he was having, this all seemed like a little too much excitement for one day for this small cub. A new friend was worth the peril, however.

The green cheetah nodded, "We just need to follow the way the rhino came, " Her paw motioned toward the huge foot prints and the torn up terrain. Surely the two could fine their way out that way.
Pilate had a ton of fun with Tamu but the chase had left her mentally tired. She couldn't wait to go back home to her adopted sister and just rest the rest of the day. She was also glad to have met Tamu and that made it all worthwhile.
Slowly, Pilate started on her way. She turned back to Tamu and smiled, "We should probably be quiet in case anything else is lurking."

"Okay." Tamu's eyes glanced down, looking a little saddened. He almost didn't want to leave the scene he was in-- the rain dripping down from the leaves, the surrounding vibrant colors of the jungle, and the slinky green figure walking before him. His family....well, he loved them, he did, but it was hard being with them. He only felt 'connected' with one of his sisters, as the other was blind and Tamu didn't want to make her sad by telling her of the beautiful world.
As they neared the edge of the forest, Tamu looked up, staring through the trees towards the sky that barely peeked through. "I guess I'll have to go home after this, huh?" his tone was sad, but his eyes seemed hopeful.

Pilates bright pink eyes trained on to Tamu. She frowned, not at him, but he seemed sad about having to go home. "Well," The cheetah began, "If you want to stick around me some more you can. I don't see why not." The cheetah tilted her head at the other.
Pilate did have some what of a home she returned to but it wasn't expected of her to always return every night. Perhaps the two could go on some more adventures. After all, it wasn't unlike Pilate to be gone for days on end with her wandering habit.
((Wouldn't mind starting a new rp if you'd like = ] ))
