"Oh, nice to meet you. I'm Ebony and, as you know, that's Shiraz." the purple girl said with a warm smile.
"Ebby likes the roller rink." the littlest female responded, smiling at the comment about the fudge sauce. She liked that Emi was in agreement with her. Taking another bite the baby happily continued in her pleasant state of sweet eating.
"Shiraz is a little new to living with us so she hasn't gotten to go many places besides playgrounds or restaurants yet so that's all she's got on that matter."
"Pool." the tot added then. She had spent a day at the pool, that'd been nice. She met a boy there and learned to swim a little. "Pool was fun."

Pools, urgh, pools meant water. Water meant getting wet, which wasn't really the joint of the issue, the big issue was swimming; Emi looked like a total fool when she tried to swim. After a few childhood disasters in school, she'd made a note to avoid the swimming pool wherever possible: whatever she was mixed with was not a fluid swimmer, that much could be said.
"If you liked the pool, you ought to visit the beach, building sandcastles is always fun, and it's another excuse to have ice cream," Said with a wink, it was only then that Emi noticed how quickly the bowl was being devoured by the panda. The ice cream had almost gone, along with the block of fudge cake, and her coffee at that. Apparently, the food wasn't the only thing vanishing, so had the space on the page of her jotter; and with it the end to the questions. She'd only been asked to write a small article, so anymore information would go over her word limit.
"Do you mind if I take a picture?" Opening her bag, Emi put the jotter back, and produced a black digital camera.
"And, thank you so much, would you like me to send your parents the article clipping once it's written?"

"Mama said she might consider it before beach gets too crowded." Shiraz commented softly with a smile before setting her spoon down. She was all full now. It was a good thing too, since Ebby was about to say she had had enough.
"No, go right ahead." Ebby said, quickly picking up a napkin to help wipe the excess fudge off of her sister's white fur before turning back to Emi and smiling. "We'd love a copy of the article, thanks."

Coffee now finished, with a flash of the camera, the picture was taken. In truth, it hadn't just been the pair that had finished the ice cream, and as the panda set her spoon down, the furry scooped up the last spot of vanilla ice cream from the bowl. Now, to resist the temptation of scraping the sauce off...It sat before her, begging to be scraped off into the spoon...
Putting the camera away, she offered another business card to the pair, along with her pen. "If you'd write your address on the back, I'll send it to you as soon as it's finished," Emi commented.
"Thank you so much, and I hope you do visit the beach soon. I really recommend sand castles. I'd also suggest bringing a dog comb, it works really well to get the sand out of your fur," Pulling herself off the chair, Emi straightened her clothes out, pulling her bag over her shoulder once more.
"Thank you again, Ebony and Shiraz, take care," With a smile, she took a step back from the chair, pushing it back into place with her tail. Oh, the wonders of having a long tail.

Ebony smiled warmly, writing their address and returning it to the woman. Grinning and waving, the two girls got to cleaning up their part of the table and getting out of the booth. They'd had their ice cream so now was time to go home - though, the purple girl had a feeling it'd be necessary to have a few runs around in the yard, at least for Shiraz.

With a final wave, Emi found herself back on the streets of Barton once again. Except, this time, she could hold her head up high with thoughts of her article clear in her head. Her tail swished happily behind her as she walked off, back towards the offices.
Genetically engineered cabbages, eah? Who would have thought.
