The Bible does not talk about transgenders, in fact the apostles prolly DIDN'T know what a transgender is. As there were prolly no such thing as transgenders since they called a spade a spade. ex. If it looks like a man, walks like a man, and talks like a man then it's a man and vice versa. They didn't take into account things like attraction or the fact that transgenders are sometimes BORN WITH THE SEX ORGANS OF THE OPPOSITE SEX! (Transgender women could have a p***s or transgender men can have a v****a). I know what you're thinking "But God doesn't make mistakes" Really? Take a look at the emu and the platypus and tell me otherwise biggrin

God may not make mistakes, but biology may.

so you had a sex change?
yes, IMO and according to the bible that is a sin and couldnt agree more with the person above sad

I didn't realize that the Bible discussed transgenders.
And I didn't have a sex change, yet.
I'm on hormone therapy, as my signature picture will show you.

i was referring to the same gender thing he said. if you are truly a certain gender and you are attracted to the same gender(obviously) as yourself was what i meant...But maybe youre just confused...because youve been female for a while.

There was somebody else a while ago who had similar problems, born as a male with female organs but they decided to keep her male. But later on changed her and then she was confused with relationships and stuff and thought she was gay and all. But it all worked out fine.

I'm not attracted to the same gender, I'm attracted to the same sex.
Gender is what we identify with, it's a construct.
Sex is what you physically have.

I just think it's funny that the Christian answer to transgender people is to simply say that they don't exist.

I don't understand the whole concept of "gender identity", I'll be honest. The way I see it, a person's sex is purely arbitrary, and their personality is something completely different.

There seems to be a concept of how men and women should be and I disagree with that. When I was younger, I thought of myself as very tomboyish and I really didn't fit in with any of the girls. I still don't.

I have accepted myself for who I am and I don't find it necessary to change myself on the outside just to "suit the way I feel on the inside." I am me, that's all that matters.

Anyway, the Bible clearly speaks about homosexuality, but it doesn't say anything about transgender people other than one verse I managed to find which states that people shouldn't dress or try to act like the opposite sex (Deuteronomy 22:5).

Still, the human brain is enigmatic to me and everyone's different. I'll probably learn more about transsexuals in my biology class if this topic comes up. I'm rather curious.

It's also a psychological topic as well. But the writers of the Bible would be up in arms seeing women wearing jeans and t-shirts. razz

Yeah, considering that men wore skirts back then, I doubt the authors of the Bible would have much perspective to be upset about women wearing pants.

The Bible just says women shouldn't dress up as men, and men shouldn't dress up as woman. What types of clothes are considered "men's" or "woman's" clothing is decided by the culture; the Bible isn't specific at all because it acknowledges that cultures are different and they change.

True. The same can be said for the dietary laws in Leviticus. Though it is known that pork can kill you. -.-U

Almost all males are wired to lust over women or men, whatever their sexual orientation is. Why can't a man with a female mind be wired to sin as well?

I'm a woman, but I have male genitalia.
My brain chemistry (backing proof that transgender male-to-female have different brain chemistry) is that of a woman's, but my body is male.

As a result I am sexually attracted to men.
Does this make me gay?
Is this a sin?

And what gives you the right to call gays heathens? Admitting to this then calling gays heathens is not right. Maybe you need to remember who it is that your are representing, because the example you are setting as a Christian is not at all pleasing to God.
