Ojou-sama
Manga wise, what really got me stuck to it was Petshop of Horrors!
Anime wise, was Revolutionary Girl Utena and Magic Knights Rayearth!
xd

Anyways, I got into anime the same way 99% of the rest of the American fandom did: Sailor Moon and DBZ.

First anime in general was Speed Racer, but I wasn't even aware it wasn't made in America at the time, so that doesn't count. Hmmm... My Gateway series was probably Sailor Moon. I fangirled it, drew fanart for it, even cosplayed it in 3rd grade for a school project. I still love Sailor Moon, even if I can't watch the English Dub without dying a horrible death.

Mm... I watched Battle of the Planets.. that's what got me really interested. Yeah..and then I found out how much they changed the script when I saw Gatchaman and did a little research.

Scream actually made me laugh! xp my dad says when I was little I laughed at Chucky blaugh So , of course, I was hooked as soon as Yusuke died. It was so amazing to me, the whole spirit world and demon hunting. I thought I was gonna die, course I thought that would be cool... emo so I could be like Yusuke. Anyway, yes Yu Yu.

Ha how I got into Yaoi----dang friend, that is how! Actually, a few years back, maybe only 2
her: oh- you like Yu Yu Hakusho, you know Hiei and Kurama are always put together.
I had never thought of this. Me:"Put together? question "
Her: yeah, yaoi.
me:what----???
her guy on guy
me: eek eek eek eek but no.....

me at home on the internet..........."Letme see what this is about."
click "Oh holy moses and his bush!" I clicked off, but the image stuck in my mind and voila--------my yaoi obsession was born.

What got me into anime and manga was Sailor Moon. Then I got into Clamp's works when it comes to Clamp School Detective and Wish. After that I started reading more of their works when it came to X/1999, Tokyo Babylon, The Man Of Many Faces, RGVeda, Legal Drug, Tsubasa and Xxxholic. I think the four women creative team do a great job when it comes to the manga they make especially when it comes to the storyline and art too. I also got into the manga & anime Wedding Peach. I love Magical Girl anime and manga that has strong female characters and a good plot too.

What got me into manga was Shinshi Doumei Cross (Gentleman's Alliance Cross). I found out about the manga back in camp from my friend in the summer of my 6th grade year. It really got me interested in it. In fact when my mom picked me up I made her go to the bookstore and buy me vol. 2 of it. XD

Lets see for anime...well I don't like anime. But the first anime I seen (not including pokemon) was Junjou Romantica.

Don't waste your time on me
You're already a voice inside my head...

To be honest, I'm not quite sure...
For anime it was either Pokemon, Digimon, or the Ghibli (sp? redface ) films. Manga...that was me reading a manga of a anime I had watched--which I can't remember. sweatdrop
I love anime and manga, but let me say this:
I. Hate. English. Dub.
It just makes watching it a horrible experience.
Get some good farking voice actors! Like Ghibli does.

...
Sorry about that,hehe.

Cardcaptor Sakura. I did watch (and love) all of Pokemon, Digimon, and Salior Moon before hand but I didn't think of them as "anime" but as "cartoons". When I saw an episode or two of CS I really got into it and searched for more stuff. xd CLAMP is my gateway drug!

Marjosa
It would have to be Sailor Moon. After that, I was just crazy about anime/manga.

My gateway into slash was Gundam Wing. I remember the first PWP lemon I read for the 1x2 pairing. <3 After that, I was crazy about yaoi/slash. XD

Mine was also Gundam; I was especially fond of 3+4, but I was sad over how they (the fanbase) began to warp Quatre's personality into the Ultimate Useless Uke.

I can't remember what I first read, but I've read so much since then.

Actually, did any of you hear how Gundam Wing is like the Star Trek of yaoi? ST had a slash-base before the interbutts (I think it's been mentioned in the series forum), but apparently, GW is what launched the cartoon-based yaoi subculture. That's what I've read, anyway. heart

My first anime was Pokemon, but I really got into it when a friend got me to watch Inuyasha. My first yaoi fic read was, unfortunately, OrochimaruxKabuto. After getting over that one, I really got into it with LightxL then I read Loveless. I also plan on reading Gravitation and Junjo Romantica.
