Ok, this was so funny. I hung out after school all day because I didn't want to go home before the game. So, I was talking to a few of my friends and one of them *Colourgaurd* asks me what time it is. So I get out my phone and tell her, I don't rememebr the time but I'll say 5:42, then this other girl *Flute* turns to me and ask what time it is. She was standing there the whole time and she asked me litterally five seconds after the other girl. So I tell her "5:42" and she's like "Wow! You don't have a watch or your phone out or anything how did you know that!" And I was like, ok I'll play along and I said "Oh, I can tell by the position of the sun."
So, first of all, we're in the band room. Insaide. No windows and she totally buys it. So for the next hour she keeps asking me what time it is to catch me off guard but I get it right every time, most of them just luckey guesses.
Then, we're outside at half-time and she's like :Hey, Jenna! What time is it?" But I hadn't checked my phone lately and I didn't know but rather than just tell her that I was like "Oh, I don't know now." And she was like "Ha! I knew it!" and I was like "Well you see, I can tell the time by the position of the sun but since the moon is out now it;'s a whole different story. I'm still trying to learnt he moon's time cycles." And she was like "Oh that makes sence"
The best parts where that my friends where all standing around me the entire time this was all going on and they knew what was really happening. That, and, when she first asjked me and we where int he band room...the sun had already gone down...
So, how stupid are your floutists?

I fell down during a run threw of our show my freshman year during a backwards follow the leader to the end of the second movement. It was funny because I had to roll out of the way to avoid knocking over the other clarinets and then watch that I didn't knock over the trombones right behind us too. Lol. It was hilarious afterwards.

the trumpet guy started his part in simple gifts kinda early, then forgot where he was and screwed up more (during practice, yay no judges!)
all the other bands were told to wait for all the bells, (we were at gateway middle who keeps school going during an adjudacation wtfreak?) and in the middle of liberty bell, the bell blares and screwed up our piccolo player only for a few notes though

A firend of mine who's graduated now was playing and in the middle of the compatition her knee popped out of place but nobody was aloud to help her or go out onto the field so she had to crawl her way off the feild. But she's a 'dedicated bandee' and evry times she drug herself closer she played a note on her flute. When she finally got to the end of the feild it was the end of the flute solos and the judges thought she was just acting...
Then the emergency vehicles came...

Once, back in middle school, a mallet head flew off the shaft and hit a clarinet girl in the head two rows away.
Another time, in jazz band, the drummer lost a drumstick at high speed, and had the clarinet been in his chair he would have been impaled in the back of the head.
Both circumstances ended in hilarity. XD

So, our percussion got new sticks halfway through the season,a nd were only allowed to use them for special occasions until the others broke. What do they do with the old ones during game or competition? Break them all! So they would play extra loud during cadences to see how long it would take to break them and who could break the most. A tenor won. He had like 3 at the end of our second rival game(This one was playoffs. The first was normal season. haha. Payback! They beat us the first time, but we got our rematch and we won it! Then we went to state. We lost there. because the other team and refs were idiots...)

Our only trombone had a big solo in the ballad of our show this year, and at our second competition, he butchered stabbed it repetitively with a knife then ripped it to pieces.
Funny how we got our best scores off that comp.

During regionals, the percussion messed up the set up, so me and my standmate didn't get a stand. Thus, I had to share with the two people to my right, but they refused to move the stand even though I couldn't see half of the music.
So basically I had to play half of each song by memory.
I did pretty good most of the time, but there was this one part where flutes rest for 2 measures while the trumpets do a certain pattern, and then we echo it. Well, I had a stupid moment and came in with the trumpets. Luckily, the judges didn't notice <3
Still, I felt incredibly stupid for making that mistake ._.

At our concert, I skipped a rest and all of the trumpets followed me. I caught myself and got back in but the others didn't and there were two ending beats.
Also, at MPA half the time I was the only 1st trumpet playing.

During one of my first band concerts, we were supposed to play this song really, really fast. When we started, everyone was out of tune and playing either too fast or too slow. Since we had practiced this song a lot, our band director got really mad at us. He started yelling " WE PRACTICED THAT SO MUCH! WHY ARE YOU PLAYING IT WRONG!?!?!?!?!?" Everyone was speechless, and we really embarrassed, too. Needless to say we all got a HUGE chunk of our grade taken away, lol.
Oh, and during that concert, our BD's mom called him to wish him a happy birthday. It was his birthday that night.

At one of the football games, my band messed up the star spangled banner. It ended with one bass drum, a cymbal player (me^_^) and a tuba. It was an EPIC FAIL!

After a Band Festival at Santiago, we had to take band pics. Before the pic was taken, our baritone player dropped his baritone down 6 steps(he was at the top). and only the bell was dented, which im amazed at. also, our BD had this expression of controlled rage. lol it was funny
