Take you head on? Even you dodge what you know you can't block, so why should i do the opposite? Is the thought that runs through Taoyaka's head as she watches Aiko spin. She backs away slightly to give herself a little more reaction time to whatever Aiko throws at her, feeling something big coming on from the spin.
Sure enough when Aiko released the two waves of reiatsu, this proved to be necessary. The waves seemed too wide to simply dodge to the side from, so she would either have to go under or above. She opts for under, quickly throwing herself into a roll with her zanpakuto held close and having the two blood cutter waves pass over her.

Aiko had taken the opportunity perfectly. In the time it had tanken Taoyaka to roll, thus breaking visual contact, she's used shunpo to get into a position for a strong one handed horrizontal swing from her left to her right aimed at where the girl would be. Hopefully, she would be in an impossible position to dodge, and would inevitably have to block. At least, that was the theory. She carried through with her attack all the same. She altered the swing so that it seemed easily blockable at first, but then applied the rest of the force when it was nearer to contact.

Taoyaka jumps up from her roll to quickly stand up ready to fight again. This seemed to be the best way to not get caught off guard by Aiko, but instead it throws her right into the path of the woman's swing. Given no room or time to dodge, she is forced to put her zanpakuto between herself and Aikos blade. She places her hand on the blunt side again but not thinking to move with the force against her due to it being more of a paniced reaction and the fact that Aiko is swinging her blade lightly, as it seems to her.

Aiko mocked Taoyaka as she swung, trying to urge the girl to keep trying. "Looks like you made your second mistake already." The rest of the force suddenly enetered Aiko's swing to create sparks at the blades connected. Her hair jumped backwards into a near horizontal position from the force of the strike. "Tell me, girl. Are you attacthed to that sword? Has it served you well?"
Another of her sinister smirks formed on her lips as the angle of the pressure she applied changed. This way, the blade was aiming to pass Taoyaka completely, but still keep a strong force on the girls blade. The entire time the two blades were connected, the stronger the force Aiko applied was and the greater the reiatsu she allowed to hinder Taoyaka. Though she wasn't only blindly letting of reiatsu, she was sharpening her own cutting power.

Taoyaka's feet slid across the ground a little when the blades made contact, a sign that she needs to keep steady against the strike and is still unable to move for any dodge. As a result, she just keeps pushing against Aiko blade with her own, more concerned with keeping the blade away from herself than what Aiko might be intending really.
Though she can't help ponder what Aiko asked her for the brief moment the blades stay locked together. Why is she asking me that? Sure, this zanpakuto has helped me thus far. I'd have been chopped to peices by the vice captain if i didn't have it. But this whole fight is to get rid of it and find my own one. So i can't be really attached to it, can i?
Even as she converses with herself in her mind, she still remains focused on the task at hand, keeping up her block to defiantly try to keep Aiko from hitting her.

"Well, if you aren't going to answer me...then i guess I'll take it as a no." she said with the same sinister expression on her face. Her right hand gripped tighter around the hilt of her sword and the pressure increased. Though, suddenly, Aiko withdrew her blade a short way. It was, however, short lived as the metal again made contact. The force of the strike was intended to simply shatter the academy blade. Not cut it, not slice it off, but to simply shatter the blade and leave Taoyaka with the hilt and guard.
There was clearly reiatsu in her sword as the edge glowed a faint black and red colour. "Now...shatter!" her words sounded almost evil, almost as an inner hollow would, but it was quite clearly her.

Taoyaka tries to block the second hit just as she did the first one, pushing back against Aiko's blade to keep it from cutting her. But this turned out to work against her even more. The strength she put behind her zanpakuto only served to makes the force of Aiko's attack on the blade greater, and her simple saachi shatters just as Aiko intended. The peices all fall to the ground, a few leaving shallow cuts in Taoyaka's hand as they pass by towards the floor.
Suddenly, the question Aiko asked made all too much sense to Taoyaka now. Her blade was gone in an instant and she was more or less defenseless now, but she refuses to let fear sink in this time. She tries to jump back to get away from Aiko's blade, still holding onto the hilt of her broken zanpakuto and once she lands, adopts a her same fighting stance. The only difference now is that she is weaponless, her determination to not back down is still there and unwavering.

"That's more like it Taoyaka." For a split instant, as she spoke, she seemed friendly again, "standing to fight even without your weapon."
Aiko began to twirl her large blade idly in her right hand, showing no care for it's weight. Without breaking the flow of her blade's twirl, she made a slice in the air, then another. The two slices joined toget to form an 'X' shaped blood cutter wave. The bottom tips of the X dug grooves into the ground, but the wave slowed none from the grounds resistance. The wave was four times the width of her body, and twice the height thanks to the length of her sword.
She obviously wasn't being as aggressive anymore, now that she'd borken Taoyaka's sword. She's nearly there. I didn't want to make her fight without a weapon from the start, breaking it was the only way.
"How does it feel Taoyaka? To be weaponless? Do you feel the fear coursing through you?" she called over the sound of the blood cutter wave tearing through the ground.

Taoyaka reacted instantly to the X shaped wave that headed towards her, running to her left and diving so her feet were off the ground when the wave passed by with her in the empty part of the wave.
After hitting the ground in a roll, she regains her stance and faces Aiko again.
"Yes, i do feel the fear. But i won't let it get the best of me this time." She calls back to Aiko, her voice a little shakey for obvious reasons, but she continued to remain determined through all of it.
Despite this though, fearful thoughts still dance around in her mind. What am i supposed to do now? I'll die from a direct attack with no weapon. I need my zanpakuto. But i don't know how to make it. From my reiatsu, is all i know. But how?

"Well you best get about making your own quickly. You won't be able to do much without a weapon now will you?" she had begun twirling her sword again. Though this time, she sealed her shikai. Her outfit returned to it's usual white and red, her hair also returning to it's soft pink colour. Her blade remained the same however seeing as that was Ake's truest ability, illusion and deception.
Aiko jabbed her blade into the ground, enough to keep it standing, but still keeping it at her waist height. She sat herself down next to it, put her hands behind her head and layed back. Despite her having shifted seamlessly to her second personality, she still needed to push Taoyaka, so she taunted. "You're boring me girl...I can see you aren't going to do it, I'm wasting my time trying to get you anywhere." instead of the razor sharp tone she used before, she sounded calm and indeed, she sounded bored. This was all an act though, she wasn't actually bored, nor was she going to stop until Taoyaka got her zanpaku-to. She just needed a different tactic to bring it out.
She closed her eyes, but made sure to keep a close note of Taoyaka's reiatsu. She'd know if she was being snuck up on.

"What!?" Taoyaka exclaims as she sees Aiko stop simply from boredom. Now weaponless, she is more determined than ever to get her zanpakuto, and simply won't accept being brushed off now.
"I can do this. This is not pointless." She shouts over to Aiko, a hint of desperation in her voice.
She holds up the hilt of her broken zanpakuto and stares hard at it, as if willing her true zanpakuto to appear. Come on. You can do this. You must do this. I won't be brushed away like some weakling. Focus.
Hard as she tries though, pure focus doesn't seem to be enough for her zanpakuto to form.

Aiko didn't move, nor did she say a word. She simply remained laying on the grass, letting the gentle breeze brush over her. In truth, she wasn't ignoring Taoyaka, she was thinking. How do i bring out her zanpaku-to? Her appearance, however, made it appear as though she was ignoring Taoyaka, maybe even taunting her to attack despite the fact Aiko was laying down with her eyes closed.
Maybe I should've let captain Ogato do this...he'd know what to do. Maybe I really aren't cut out for training someone yet... she let out a little sigh as she though, which only seemed to add to the apperance of bordom.

Seeing Aiko just laze about, not actually trying to help her at all as it seems, just makes Taoyaka angry. Someone acting like this was probably the only thing that would make her truly angry. Being beat up was one thing, but being toyed around with infuriated her to no end.
I'll show you, Aiko. I'm not a weakling to be ignored. I won't let you, or anyone else push me around like this. I can do this. I can become stronger.
Her gaze shifts from the hilt of her zanpakuto to Aiko, though her determination to complete the task set only becomes stronger, and that just seems to be the push she needs as the hilt of the zanpakuto glows a dim green, and her reiatsu finally starts forming her true zanpakuto.
Your wrong Aiko. I can do this. Just you watch. Is what goes through her head as the hilt takes on the green and purple aspects of her zanpakuto, and the blade of it forms, shorter than the previous zanpakuto but much more fitting to Taoyaka.
Once the zanpakuto is finally formed, it takes Taoyaka a moment or two to finally realise. She was so focused on her determination that the forming of her zanpakuto actually went un-noticed by her.
Now that she had it though, she couldn't help but call out to Aiko "You see, Aiko? I'm not some weakling who can't do anything"

Aiko remained rather still, but opened a single eye and leaned up a little to look at Taoyaka and her newly formed zanpaku-to. After a moment of remaing silent, she smiled and saty up. "Congratulations Taoyaka. Looks like you really do have what it takes." her voice had reverted completely to sound calm and friendly as she stood up and began to make her way to Taoyaka. "Honestly, I'm impressed. I was just wondering how I could bring it out of you, but you pulled it off before."
She'd left her sworf in the ground where she had been laying but ignored the fact temporaliy. She extended her right hand to Taoyaka with a warm smile on her face. "Welcome to squad eleven, Taoyaka."

Taoyaka is taken aback by what Aiko says. The realisation that Aiko wasn't really ignoring her completely, and the sudden change in demeanour caused all the frustration Taoyaka was channeling to Aiko earlier to simply disappear in an instant.
For a short moment, she just looked at Aiko's extended hand and then at her new zanpakuto. A slight smile forms on her face as what she had just acheived sunk in. She looks back to Aiko and moves her right hand to shake Aiko's, after passing her zanpakuto into her left hand.
"Thank you, vice captain Aiko." She says with confident enthusiasm, "I swear i will work hard to be a worthy memeber of this squad"
