Emilie looked at Halona "Are you hungry?" she asked out of the blue. "Why do they fear you, if you are afraid of them?" She asked trying to get to the bottom of the reason behind Halona's fear. She lay down looking a little puzzled trying to think of a reason for someone to fear so much in the world. Emilie was glad to finally talk to an adult and not to worry about them forcing Her and her sister to join them as most tried to do.
Freiheit perked up her ears raising. She already started to scent the area for possible prey. Hunting was her part of the duo. Emilie was the thinker and She was the strength behind them.

Halona blinked at the question. 'Err...I don't know...I suppose I might be a little hungry...' She tilted her head slightly, watching Freiheit go to work sniffing out prey. How interesting. The two had a very intriguing connection.
Still, she was unwilling to answer outright. In the past, as soon as her secret was discovered, usually because Halona had had another 'episode', she was denounced as either 'evil' or 'possessed'. Adult Helixes chased her out of the territory while some stayed back to protect the pups. As if she'd ever harm anyone, let alone pups.
She hung her head at the thought, sighing softly. 'As we discussed before, adult Helixes tend to react to new things that they don't understand with either fear or anger.' She stared at her paws, one shuffling in the dirt. 'Well, I'm sorta' different...' she muttered softly.

Freiheit turned her head to the right. she heard a small doe and a rabbit somewhere in that direction. She stalked off in that direction towards the prey. She figured that would be enough for them all to eat. She would go after the rabbit first. It was closer and it could hide easier. The doe was bigger and would have a harder time hiding from her nose.
Emilie could understand why she was so reluctant to talk. The adults usually frowned upon pups living on their own. To them pups are mischievous balls of fur that can't take care of themselves. So Freiheit and Emilie had just started to avoid them. At their current age they couldn't figure out why adults where so against it but maybe when they grew up they would understand. Emilie didn't think she would because some are better off left to their own devices.
"Every helix is different. Some packs just can't stand the difference and others try to change others to be more like themselves," Emilie said concisely. "It's much like us out here on our own," Emilie added speaking of her and her sister.
