heres another one that happened my freshman year:
when it was silent for dm to do her salute, our bitchy manly woman of an assistant band director would say:
I LOVE YOU CITRUS MAKE 'EM THROW BABIES!!!!!!!! and at state she said I LOVE YOU CITRUS MAKE 'EM THROW PARENTS!!!!!!!!!!
i got so sick of that and i coulda swarn i was gonna strangle her but after she did that, it was usually jenn's cue to do her salute.

The only chant we really ever do is a posture check: HEELS! together! TOES! align! STOMACH! in! CHEST! out! SHOULDERS! back! HEAD! up! EYES! with pride! EYES! with pride! EYES! with pride!
Though, it begins with the drum major clapping in time and then yelling regiment so often times people will do the clap and see how many people get into attention thinking that the drum major was clapping.

Ours is sooo cool! The DM (or who ever decides to start it when the DMs are on the field gettin awards for comp) will start, then the rest of the band will copy and so forth.
DM-Who are who are who are we? band- Who are who are who are we? DM-We are We are We are the... band- We are we are We are the... Everyone- R...H...S...BAND WARRIORS! HUH! (we= RHS warrior marching band.)
for the drumline, we have a ton of stuff we do... we sing jump on it, we do the hussle, we made fun of the dance team one time cuz they huddle up and when they are done they yell "DT YOU KNOW!" and its really girly and annoying so we did the same thing only we said "DRUM LINE! YOU KNOW!" and made zap sounds cuz we are the "RHS Thunder Drumline" it was fun. the dance team hated us. (We had to do a couple parades with them. we got marked down cuz THEY CANT MARCH!)
I loves it! Its so fun to start it! we use it after comps when the Drum majors get to accept a trophy, after football games when we march up and get into our band circle near the band room to play games n sing songs n stuff, and at football games when there is another band, but usualy at the football game we just play "Slammin Jammin letter C" back and forth till someone gets a touch down (usualy us, the people who play our team usually suck)

Cybele -Por Siempre- Does your band have a chant/song they say at competitions or practices, or just at general times?
Here's ours.
-TWO DOORS! (The entrance to our band room has, two doors. This chant begins when all 110 of us are trying to get through...one door.) ROFL that's so funny! our band room has two doors to, but one is always locked, so when everyone is trying to get through at once, our drum major yells "LET THE FATTIES THROUGH FIRST!" so the tuba, berry saxes, and drums can put their instruments down and no one is in danger of a concussion from gettin' smacked with an instrument. =D surge5 the drumline captain would go "WHAT TIME IS IT?!?!?!" then the rest of the band goes "GAME TIME WHO!!!!!!!!!" i have no idea what it means but yeah...that's our chant smile Its from the movie "Drum line" one of the cadences we play is at the very end of that movie.

TrumpetsRawkMySocks The trumpet section has their own little song. We sing "My Girl" but replace the 'my girl' with BOOTY. And all the freshmen have to sing the bass line by singing "Booo-ty booty booty, Boooo-ty booty booty..." over and over until we get to the chorus. It's great. heart I love my college band. heart UC Fresno's entire band sings My Girl lol, its so funny to watch with the original lyrics, they wave their instruments in the air like lighters. (our former Drum line capitan is at Fresno, and we go their for Band day)

chibinecochan_13 We are a very spirited band, so we have many. We're the crazy band you see in the stands that starts the wave. heart
1. HEY BAND! HOW DO YOU FEEL?
WE FEEL GOOD! OH, WE FEEL SO GOOD! UH! DOUBLE UH UH! TRIPPLE UH UH UH!!!!! We're known in trough all our regular competitions to do this. Stealing this chant is a MAJOR disrespect for our band. A band decided to do this chant, (and fail at it xd ), in front of us after a hard loss. stressed Even our BD was pissed.
2. (in a texas acent, inportant) COME ON AZTECS! FIRE IT UP!!! scream Some crazy fan gave us this idea...
And of corse, section dances (MORTAL COMBAT!!!), the yelling of favoret teachers names and and the MALCOM DANCE. And many more... We did #1 all the time, too...and peeling the banana, etc. all sorts of spirit chants back and forth. It was so much fun. I notice it's not done as much anymore...sad. It was a good way to promote comradery between the bands. sad And, I'm also familiar with the pride chant, too. smile
