Patting her own wooden sealed case of notes, she was intending to deliver the message that they were important, even to her.

When Nathan reads the first note, it reads as follows ina very neat script. Some lines seem to crash into other lines of words, but it is all legible and very neat.
"Greeting Sir. I apologize for the manner in which I great you, but I have no choice. My name is Kristan, and this is my servant Gulan, as you have just found out but a moment ago. I wished that I didn't have to do this, but your future is of the utmost importance. The girl you travel with might be important as well, keep her protected and near at all times.
Follow Gulan till you find someone. You will know her when you meet her. She is the new Queen. You are to protect her with your life, as Gulan will. She is key to the future. No. To our survival."

A seal was seen underneath the writing. It is of the royal Water family. There is no mistaking it for anything else.

As a scribble on the bottom, in letters crammed in, there is a warning:
"Do not stay in this cave for much longer. Get moving or the soldiers will be upon you."


As you finish reading the last part, you hear foot falls splashing in the river. Though you are protected from them in the cave for the moment, they could soon find you.
