Raising an eyebrow at the yellow gargoyle's return, Cyrus's eyes immediately followed the ball of fuzz that was tossed at him.
"... That's a hare? I honestly couldn't tell with its guts spewed all over itself." He said with a sigh, obviously unimpressed, and went back to his woodwork. "Don't see what you're happy about. Our agreement was that you catch a stag."
For a moment, he glanced up at the sky. "So, would you like my help tomorrow night or not?"

"Well I still caught something!" he practically chirped.
Silence wafted in the forest for a few moments after the other gargoyle asked him if he wanted assistance in catching a stag. Liam hesitated a bit before giving his response, rubbing a sore shoulder while he stood there. The proud gargoyle didn't want to admit it, but he did lose this deal he made. That realization didn't make him too happy, but he was determined he'd make up for it one way or another.
It just meant he would have to pass tomorrow with flying colors and sparkles.
"Alright, I'll take your help. And I'll show you how good I am then!"

"Alright then." Cyrus then promptly stood up and placed the piece of wood he held into the ground. "We'll meet up here tomorrow night. Get here as soon as the sun sets." It was as if he'd known what was going to happen all along.
"Later." And, without anymore explanation, Cyrus walked off in the direction of his home.

Nodding shortly to the other gargoyle, Liam watched as he walked off. Then, shaking his head to himself, he looked towards the sky before making his way to his own perch. Along the way, he went ahead and ate his catch of the night, which was rather... tender.
The next night, he spent little time to get to the rendezvous point. And while he awaited the arrival of the other gargoyle, he warmed himself up by throwing several punches and kicks in the air. Boy, he was FIRED up and ready to go. Tackle a deer head on and rip it to shreds! At least that's how he felt somewhat.

Cyrus, on the other hand, took his sweet time getting there. He strolled through the forest, wings wrapped around himself, glancing at the trees.
When he finally did get there, he noted that his yellow acquaintance was still as full of vim and vigor as yesterday. "Evening."

Liam paused his actions when the other gargoyle had finally arrived. Grinning at the other guy, he waved somewhat before stepping a little closer to the much more laid back gargoyle.
"Good evening! Hey, what's your name by the way. I realized that I never quite caught it last night."
With that greeting, he glanced around briefly. Over all, he couldn't wait for this thing to begin so that he might be able to blow the other's mind with his talents.

"It's Cyrus." He said simply, not asking the other gargoyle's name because he figured he'd tell him anyways.
"Now, lets climb up in this tree." His finger pointed upward to the tallest tree around the area. Though, he didn't make his intentions for the action known.

"And I'm Liam! Pleasure to know you."
As Cyrus pointed at the tallest tree in the area, Liam looked up at it before nodding. Then, without any further hesitation, he hurried to scramble up to the top. Most likely he'll have to take flight afterwards, and maybe try to headbutt a stag from there. That would be an awesome method of hunting, at least that's what he thought.
"Ok, now what?" he called down.

The pleasure's all yours. Really.
Cyrus quietly thought to himself, then started looking around for something. Where had he put that? Ah! There it was. He picked up a medium sized, sharp arrowhead from the ground and examined it, then climbed up the tree with it in hand. What did they do now? He figured it'd be obvious.
"Now we wait." This would go over badly, he thought. Since this gargoyle had the attention span of a child. "Hold this." As he spoke, he handed Liam the rock and looked around for a moment. "Lets see... Which one would be best..."

From his point in the tree, Liam stared down to watch Cyrus. He couldn't tell what it was he searched for and then picked up, but he figured he'd find out soon enough anyway. When the other gargoyle was up in the branches with him, he glanced down at the forest floor.
"Huh? We're not going to search for prey?" asked Liam while taking the stone and then looking it over. Maybe they were gonna wait for something to come by... and then dive bomb it with the pointy rock.
That would be pretty cool actually, he figured.

"No. The prey will come to us." Cyrus mumbled as he pulled off a large branch, then began picking the smaller branches and leaves off of it.
"I've been coming to this place for a few nights. This spot right here is where a lot of deer usually gather at night to graze. This, being the tallest tree, is the best place to spot them. And also the best for concealing our presence."
The branch was now a long pole. He paused for a moment and pulled out a thick string hidden under the jewel on the cloth hanging around his neck. He snatched the rock back with that hand and, very carefully, tied the rock to the end of the pole.
"This is what you'll use to kill it. Or at the very least slow it down."

Liam tilted his head as he watched Cyrus craft something. He wasn't sure what he was up to, that is, until he saw the final product. It was very reminiscent of one of the weapons he had seen humans carry around.
"OH! I get it! A spear! Of course. Why divebomb unarmed when you can have something pointy to stab them with as you go down!"
He seemed a bit proud of this little revelation he had.

At Liam's little... Revelation... Cyrus promptly facepalm'd.
"Listen. I want you to take the idea of divebombing and just toss it off the tree. You're not gonna get anywhere with that. You're too loud. The deer can hear a huge thing falling from the sky."
He offered the spear to Liam, before giving an explanation. "You're going to throw that. Aim at the deer and throw that spear as hard as you can at it. The stick is very aerodynamic and by the time the deer realizes what's happening, the spear will have probably done it's job."
Hopefully, Liam knew how to throw something besides himself.

The golden gargoyle rubbed his chin while the other explained further on what he was to do exactly. Well it didn't seem quite as cool to attack from afar, but it didn't sound all too difficult either. He'd show Cyrus his awesome skill, and that he'd be best!
Taking the spear, Liam nodded with a grin.
"Ah! I get it. I'll hit it dead on without a hitch, straight through the heart!"

"Alright, I hope your confidence actually reflects your skill..." Cyrus mumbled and leaned back against one of the branches.
"But for now, we should be quiet and wait for a deer to come by."
He motioned to the ground as he spoke, then placed both his arms behind his head as if he were lounging. Patience? He had it out the yin-yang. Though... It was probably laziness more than anything.
