Hot Sure....but looks WAY too much like a chick....seriously....eh...but close. I would go for Johnny Depp because I don't think he could be serious enough to play the stoic D. I think that is what Kikuchi had in mind...for D NEVER to be a live action film. I mean he was super hesitant for the Manga and just as much so with the two films.

I also heard Amano was against that stuff too. I heard that the character D actually came from him but he's let Hideki use the character in his writings. Or something along those lines. Not quite sure if that is true though.

I love Amano's art. I was surprised when Hideyuki let D become a manga (which I think is actually pretty good...). I mean for Amano....D really is like his masterpiece almost. Something, a symbol almost, that people recognize instantly and know. (at least here in America) so for Amano, anyone else drawing D might make him annoyed. I wonder what his reaction was to the manga.

xi-kwoo ~Masquerade Of The Night~ I think Johnny Depp would do a good job. He's used to strange roles and I think he's a good actor. He's already proven that he can wear long hair. And while his roles seem more goofy, I think he could pull of D with ease once he got into character. I agree with you,Johnny is incredibly sexy & an amazing actor. xD & I think he would do a wonderful job as a vampire, however I must agree with Kelster, that no living being is capable of being as sexy as D. XD But I would love it if this were a live-action I agree with both here. Even though nobody is, and will never be as sexy as D, Johnny Depp is by far the best choice. Maybe, if we wait, sometime in the future, when technology permits us to do non-retarded anime-to-live action films, we could have an amazing VHD movie... Dreaming is for free guys... crying

I think either Alan Rickman or Viggo Mortensen, both great actors who have calm voices and have that mysterious side to them which fits D in well at least Bloodlust.

Ugh! Please Depp is not NEARLY as hot as D or Meyer! -covers eyes and pretends she didn't read that!- lol wink
He's a great actor but for D or Meier.. no way..
I agree that it should all just be CG'd.. but if we're going to stay persistent with the film actor scene.. the parts of Meier and D should really be played by an asian cast. They're the only ones who can pull off that thin line between masculine and feminine.. aka be a beautiful man.
Kamijo really fits the bill, but I'm not well versed in the asian film and music department to offer up any suggestions.. though I may do some research now that my interest is aroused.
I think Doris could be an American actress, she wasn't overly feminine and her features were strong for a woman so a Caucasian actress would probably work well. Have Kate Beckinsale dye her hair strawberry blonde! lol Not really, I love Kate but idk if she looks enough like Doris.. Oh hey! Mena Suvari is a good call!

It's hard enough just getting animes out of them. Whoever is holding the rights has a tight hold on them. But yes, Mr. Depp is the only person I can think of that would make a good D. I'm not sure about the other characters though. Lol, I thought this topic would be easy for people to list off, but it's really not. Also, I got the idea for this topic from a website that had the same thing, only with actors and actress's for a live action Phantasy Star movie. (Old games, not new) J. Depp can play either D or the other vampire guy i keep forgetng his name...

ok i have a guy in mind for D. did anyone see house of flying daggers? well the cute guy that is a player that ends up with zhang ziyi in the end. he would be perfect. he's a hottie and has that vampire glow thing to him.
as for doris.....i just don't know. i'm gonna have to think about that.
