Joshua shrugged, "Maybe she knows best?" He suggested lightly. The boy had never been rebellious towards his elders, and didn't quite understand where Casia was coming from. Well, he somewhat understood the concept of not wanting to go shopping for clothes. He'd always considered that normal. His dad didn't like buying clothes. But a girl who didn't like shopping? This was a new experience for the boy.
Well, if he didn't count Nataya's younger sister. He never did.
In any case, he truly did not understand the concept of questioning authority. "Why?" He asked, with a tilt of his head. "Most of them let us do what we want to, anyway."

"Well..." said Casia, regretting the outburst. Obviously clothes shopping did not have quite the same connotations for Josh as it did for her, and she really didn't want to go into a long explanation about Anna and Jane and not wanting to start letting go. "If you really don't want to do something, you've gotta stand up for yourself!" she stated firmly. "The way you dress is a way of expressing who you are." And she wanted to be Anna's daughter, a groovy girl, a flower child. "I'm not saying we've gotta start a revolution or anything. But sometimes you just have to let the people in charge know that you think you shouldn't have to do something." She gestured at Josh. "Like... Like, sure maybe she knows best. But maybe YOU know best, too! Don't you know what clothes represent you more than she does?"

Josh nodded, he understood standing up for yourself. Though he'd never thought of clothes as of much importance. He just wore what was comfortable, what was clean, and what he could easily challenge Zemel to a mud fight in.
"I've never thought of clothes representing me." The boy said, in a slightly confused tone. Sure, his sword could represent him. But clothes? Maybe this was a girl thing.

Casia looked embarrassed. She hadn't really thought about it like that either until a week ago when Jane mentioned she'd look nice in something flowy. All of a sudden she felt a weird, paranoid fear that she was going to be forced to change, and she was trying so hard not to, that even trying to keep the same clothing seemed to help. She bit her lip. "...That's groovy." she said finally, smiling weakly. She was feeling kind of foolish. Had she really been so hung up on a dumb dress? "You're right, you're totally right." She was still Anna's child no matter what she wore, she was still Casia no matter what she did. Had she really almost forgotten that? "Well..." she said, feeling a bit better about the whole thing, "I should go back to shopping. It was cool to meet you, Josh!"

"It was nice meeting you, too." Josh said, smiling. He was happy he'd come to the mall, after all. He'd been able to meet someone new. "Hope you find some er... boss threads!" He said, heading over to Almie.
The said teenager was still looking in Zumiez. "Ready to shop?" She asked. And this time, the only response she recieved was a wide grin making it's way across her cousin's face.
