Riya crossed her arms, somewhat surprised that Alister had agreed to her demands. Even if she was of higher rank, she would've outright refused to allow anyone to get on Stardust. No, that wasn't entirely accurate - she would have no say in the matter and would've simply allowed the wolf to portray her annoyance in a physical manner. And any smart person knew that when a wolf was allowed to do as she wanted with a human, the results were never really pretty.
"I was kidding," she informed Alister incredulously, shaking her head in feigned disappointment as if he had failed some kind of test. Which it kind of was, but everyone failed it. Like her wolf, Riya could never understand the strange attachments many humans and wolves had to each other. They worked more as partners that had been together since life began rather than like... well, one being.
Riya tilted her head in Twilight's direction. "If I had wanted to ride her, I would've asked her." She paused, and as an afterthought, added in a matter-of-fact tone to Alister, "They're not horses."
Horses are one of the few creatures that are even less intelligent than humans, Stardust stated, even the ones who grew up with wolves. They would run back to their barn even if it was on fire, dumb creatures. That was why they were on the bottom of the food chain - and turned into glue. Actually, from what she had seen of human males, they were close to having the intelligence of an ant sometimes. So sad.
