Totally right PMS, fan fiction is writing so I don't see why there aren't any goals for it.
Your idea seemed very interesting and different. People always love to read something different so well done biggrin

Chanthar Goodness yes, long posts.. but when you're explaining ideas, how could they be short? xD
Anyway, welcome to the guild. Wow, you sound a bit like me in terms of volume of things going for writing and attempting to be organized to keep things straight heh
I do think that story 'Princess Syndrome' sounds quite interesting Yes, I can't help but have long posts. I'll try to cut them down to shorter ones, as much as possible. XD I think mostly the long ones are over with. Haha. sweatdrop It's so hard to stick to writing just one thing, isn't it? I get stuck a lot but I hate wasting time so I am always writing something. I have about 153 stories planned out, so keeping my ideas organized is the hardest part for me. Thanks for reading it though, I hope it will be interesting. I can't wait to hear more about the plot. =O On the subject of fanfiction: Although it says in the rules that no fanfiction is to be posted, I think the rules have been changed since then, since Desert is now pretty much the only active mod and she doesn't mind fanfiction. Somebody in the subforum is already posting fanfiction, so to be honest I don't think it's a problem any more. I think getting this guild up and running again should be more important than a "no fanfiction" rule. x3 (Just my point of view, but you know...) Thank you! ^_^ I'm glad you like it. I don't want to post TOO much about the plot, for obvious reasons, but I'll put what I can here when I get around to typing it up. I think explaining it to people makes it easier for me to understand it. And thanks I probably will post some of it. There is a lot of adult content so I'll to be careful what I post. And keep up the progress! Yeah I plan to use this journal to keep track of my fanfic goals too, since I write a lot of it. I mean I know the characters aren't mine but the plot and words are. Thanks, I'm glad you think so. I'm weird so therefore my writing will be weird. Lol. I hate being cliche' or doing things exactly like other people do them. The one thing I don't want is the story being cliche and I don't think it will be. Anyone can write, it's what you write about and the way you write it that sells, I think. And I'll have more udpates today but it'll be later... Probably after midnight. I'm in a weird time zone. Thanks everyone, for your encouraging words. smile

And yes, tis hard to stick to one thing. I have a problem with coming up with more stories .. and then pushing out of their place in line to be written ones that have been brewing for years to write these new ones .. Heh if I actually counted all the individual stories there would be several hundred, so I keep fighting to keep them down as small as possible. If I can bring in portions of certain stories within other stories then it's a bonus for me ^^; like the very last story of the Drag Shergi Mysteries.. Seeds of Blood shows how Viki of The End of a Beginning was found .. then in The End of a Beginning there is a cameo where Rune of Destiny in a Mask finally catches her brother to deal with 'unfinished business'. Also since I have the own world I've created, the history referred to shows other books I've written in that world .. like Kings, Queens, and All Their Things references in the museum to the founders of the country .. who will show their full struggle in Law of the Horde .. and Ranen has a small villian role in the book Queries to Generations ... and heh of course with the other books in the twin series of Rae & Danny they constantly reference to each other in people and places around since the series happens concurrently
I should stop now xD; but you get what I mean, I hope.. I sometimes tend to ramble on. The thing is, everyone has a story .. so I want to write the story about the main character, the people they know (friend and foe), the place they're in .. then of course there's present, past, and future ..
But heh back to the subject at hand.. yes I think your story will be quite interesting. You explained it well. I'd like to hear more about it and your other works when you have time/them organized enough to understand hopefully yourself lol

It's interesting that you mention past present and future, b/c I was just thinking today about how I should try to go into a bit more detail about the past of their planet. But I really didn't come up with much for it yet. I'm sure I will soon. I don't think the editors would get mad if I jsut posted the story's basic scenario, and some info. about the characters and plot just a little. I don't see what it would hurt. But as for actual excerpts I'm not sure. I don't want to give out too much information about it. I had this story Princess Syndrome, and another that I am sort of still working on ideas for... I don't have a name for it yet, at all. But I had 3 stories planned out, then I managed to coembine 2 of them into one for the other story. Lol. So I do the same thing.

With the past/present/future I've been influenced heavily by Brian Jacques with his Redwall novels ..
He usually writes a story then skips a couple generations then goes back and fills in so there's groups with grandfather/father/son .. there's a bunch of those groupings
I've found it to be rather effective with trying to write over a long time period. I have so many flow charts and stuff it's kinda crazy xD I have to write things down or I won't remember them heh
As for posting, I used to publish on deviant art the chapters, but that's not good for trying to sell .. so I set all but the previews to hidden (I don't have the heart to delete them)
The info about the basic scenario and some characters is good, because it gets others interested.. I always have trouble not telling too much though xD;; don't want to give it all away
Oooh -nods- I see ... yes, if you can play around with the timeline of the world either in your novel or in one related to it that would be very interesting =o it could be a collection rather than a one-shot .. lol potential for more money if it all works

Well I finished and posted another oneshot fanfic. It was the first prize for my contest, written as a request. It was 5,336 words, and 12 pages. I did it in 2 days. And I didn’t really work on writing anything else during that time, other than jotting down a few ideas like always. I wrote about 1,000 words of the 2nd story already. I had sort of a creative burst today. And I'm not done. I might do more before I sleep.
Novel:
I didn’t work on it. XD But I can tell you a little about the characters. I don’t see what harm that would do.
For the names of the characters that live on Hybrylia, I went with mostly French names. There is another planet nearby that is unnamed for now. The character from there have Japanese names. (Other than that these places have nothing in common with France or Japan, I use wanted people from similar places to have names that fit with other names from their planet.)
Veronica the 7th– Princess of Hybrylia. Like her ancestral grandmother, she too is suicidal. She knows she will have to rule their planet one day but she does not want to. She hates what she is, and wants to pursue another path but that is not an option. She had blue hair and brown eyes.
Angelice– Princess Veronica’s servant. Her mother serves the Queen. She comes from a long line of servants, but the interesting thing about her is that she envies the Princess. She has always dreamed of being a Princess and being treated like royalty, rather than just a servant. She grew up with Veronica, and they used to be friends, but now that they are older they have grown apart, and Veronica has become cruel to her just like her parents. She has blonde hair and brown eyes.
[This story is weird in that it doesn’t have a main character. Or if it does, I don’t know who that would be. I guess it would probably be Angelice, most likely? Veronica would make an excellent main character, but I am planning for her to die. So that would be… no.]
Adeira– (This is name that I made up.) A girl from the dark side of the planet, who lived with the exiled Uglies, with her parents. But she was never exiled, her parents were. So they told Adeira to leave, and be free, but never to tell the Hybrylians that she was an offspring of the Uglies. She lived as an orphan, but has a remarkable gift. She can see into the future, but only when she touches certain objects. She reads Tarot Cards, and was given a home with the planet’s Elders.
Kichiro– A boy from another planet where everyone loved war. He is sent to Hybrylia on a secret mission to destroy them all, but while he was gone, someone else came in and killed almost everyone on his planet. He and his brother are the only survivors.
And well I have other character but I don’t really don’t want to go into detail about them. This is it for now. I think this post is, once again, long enough! It’s exactly one page, haha. I limited myself this time. My characters need work, I know. At this point I think that Adeira is my favorite, and I’d like to see her with Kichiro later on. (Hint, hint.)

Thanks, glad you thought it was good. I have a name website I use that tells me the meaning of names and stuff. It's pretty cool. I like making up my own, too. Meaning behind a name is important.

I have a new goal for this: I want to finish all 3 of the oneshot fics for the contest winners by the end of the week (namely Friday). Will I do it? I don't know. But probably. It's Tuesday, so... That means I have 3 more days. One of them is already finished, and posted. The 2nd one is 4535 words and oddly enough, it's 9 pages right now. I'll finish it up tonight.
Admittedly, I've gotten a lot done today. It's got a lot of content and I now have the orders for the next oneshot, so I can finish this whole prize project, and move on to my usual work. I get to do more yaoi, that makes me happy!
Novel:
I am such a procrastinator... Hehe. I want to have chapter 1 finished by March 31st. That is the goal I am setting for myself. I hope I can meet that goal. I plan to maybe work on a it a little bit tomorrow, if I can. ^_^ And I think that I can. A small goal, but reasonable I think.
I don't have any exceprts for you yet, but I will soon. I don't want to write about any of the other characters right now. I want to do a yaoi novel some time, or try it at least. But for now, I'm unable to think of a decent plot for one.
Poetry:
I don't set goals for this, I write it when I am inspired or feeling an intense emotion that I want to write about. But I might post some of my poems (there are a lot) in the Post Your Work forum, I've been thinking about it, when I have the time. I have so many I have them separated into books. SO far I have 3 and about halfway through a 4th.
Aaaaand that's it.

I like names that mean something..
With the twin series I had every name meaning something relavant to the story. The avatars and the spirits had same names in meaning.. As I went on the meanings kinda got lost because it didn't need to be so much, but heh -shrugs- names and meanings are fun to play with
=o hope you can finish the fics you're working on .. and then the first chapter of the novel too. Poetry is fun.. I usually put in a poem or song in my books.. I try to do one in each, but heh it doesn't work out that way all the time

I think the one for the novel is going to be the hardest for me. I never really thought about it, but most of the names I pick mean something to me. The ones that I deliberately look up I am very cautious with, and try to pick names that not everyone would use. I've never a poem of mine in my work but I might try that... It would be interesting. Maybe add some emotion to it.

Heh I know no matter how hard I try it never works out the way I want

I wanted to finish the 13 book series by the end of last year, but it didn't work out. I think it will finish this year though
I usually am extra careful about name meanings with my main characters .. and heh -nods- yes, I try to use different sort of names even though the nicknames may turn out to be 'ordinary' .. like Varaviksne became Viki and Auraela became Rae and Danniyah became Danny .. and Muracho became Murry .. things like that
-nods- adding poetry can be interesting .. like I have a mystery with a musican group as the secondary main character .. so I have at the beginning the main character Drag at the concert .. it can be a good plot device too -shifty- so much to play with xD

NEWS:
Well, I know I haven’t been on this week… But I’ve been dealing with some problems on a certain website. I posted a poem and people misinterpreted it. They didn’t care about my feelings at all, and were saying horrible things. Some of my friends came to my defense. This was about 4 days ago.
I’ve posted my stories on that site for about 2 years. No one complained, and everything was fine. Well, about a month ago they changed the rules on the site, and no adult writing is allowed. They didn’t tell ANYONE they had changed the rules. So how was I supposed to know they had been changed if no one told me? I can’t read them every single day. So anyway, I got suspended from the site for 2 weeks b/c of stuff I had posted ages ago!
And it’s not fair at all. Of course, they insist that it was completely justified and fair and even went so far as to call me a ***** and a “sick f***”. Lots of people like Shouta and Yaoi and that doesn’t make them sick or *****. So whatever. The worst part was, they wouldn’t even let me say my peace.
I was so upset over this, you have no idea… I sat at my computer and I tried to keep writing, as my friends had told me to do. But it didn’t work. Nothing I did worked. I couldn’t even write a single word! I’ve never had writer’s block that bad. Usually I crank out the words faster than I can think them! But I guess I let what they said get to me, and I found myself unable to continue writing it. I never knew people had such a problem with this.
FanFiction:
Had it not been for “the incident” I could have probably met my goal for this week. But I am still only a little over halfway done with the 3rd entry.
3rd contest prize-

I wrote all that before this incident happened. I haven't wrriten a word since, and I still haven't.
Novel:
I’ll be honest. I haven’t written a single word of this either… cry But I’m sure I will when I feel like it. I am still holding to my goal of having the first chapter done by the 30th of this month. I feel like I can do it. It’s just the matter of sitting down at the computer long enough to write it down.
Another long post, I am sorry.
