Would they have done it?
Yes, D can only resist so much, plus he has the hots for her.
No, he knows the temptation to bite is too great. He cares for her that much.
  Not sure...
Doris who? Wait isn't D gay?

Hehe he also would have denied her pitiful job offer. I mean three meals a day and rights to sleep with her? In Bloodlust, 10,000,000 Dalas wasn't enough to hire him. And against a 5,000 year old Vampire Count isn't an easy job to dispatch for basically nothing. He didn't even sleep with her. And he was so determined to protect and save Doris even after being staked. He was even considering slaughtering those villagers to protect her. Now that has to mean love... whee heart How romantic he is, LOL!!

I think that he would.
I mean if a girl like Doris threw herself at D like that...I'm surprised that he didn't jump her right there. But then again D had this other worldly disapline.

I think that he would.
I mean every guy needs to get laid sometime right?
And Doris is willing to give it up to him.
Apparently girls that are not claimed/virgins are hard to come by on the frontier and there's something about virgins. xD
And she gave him the permission to bite her so he shouldn't have a problem with it.

Hmmm....this one is a toughy.
There are a lot of factors that go into something like this.
Like he has a great amount of self control. But it's part of the reward and he accepted it. He's a guy and we all know what that means. {yes I'm implying that all men are pigs} He's also trying to stay off "human" blood so he's nothing like the ones that he kills. He's a guy...She's practically throwing herself at him and he's not exactly saying no either. Oh and did I mention that he's a guy?

It was part of his pay and he did accept her Job offer. And no where in the deal did he say to her; "You can pay me back later." In fact it seems that he isn't saying; "No, he won't..or no he can't." to Doris. He merely points out that he hasn't finished his job yet in killing the Count. Does that mean that after he's killed the Count he would claim his payment of having sex with her? It seems that was what he was getting at. redface

but notice how he finally did end up finishing the job and still he left without payment. that's love to me.

@sierrad8: Not necessarily, in the novel he disappeared as the castle is crumbling and collapsing following Count Magnus Lee's demise. He didn't rejoin Doris and Dan like in the anime. In fact it seems as if Mr. Kikuchi was almost going to leave it at D was killed in that first novel- a sad ending for the hero. In the new Manga edition, D purposely avoids meeting up with Doris and Dan and somehow let's the werewolf carry Doris and Dan to the surface on Larmica's orders while the castle goes to hell. D watches from a distance far away on his horse and then bids his silent farewell but Doris & Dan think he's dead. In the anime they cut to way later where he's already leaving Doris and Dan and you see them running to say their final farewells to him. Just like him bathing and going to the bathroom. There are things that are never mentioned. Maybe Mr. Kikuchi thinks showing D as a man who also has sex with women will somehow bring down his heroics and likability? But we may never know if he had sex with her at least in the movie.

There are some stories that pertain to a similar situation, the one where Doris and Dan are out of the castle after the final showdown with Count Magnus Lee. I can't remember the name of the authors, but there are a few who wrote stories, and much to our excitement, Doris and D do share a moment of intense passion. There was one fan fiction that I read on deviantArt entitled Lost where D comes back to Ransylva after several years, and once again they both share some passionate moments. The ending was pretty good too-- it left enough space to continue on with the story, but perhaps from a different person's perspective, as the author did a nice job in ending it the way she did.

The one thing that I would be particularly sensitive to is if the writer somehow completely changes D's personality. But I have been finding it difficult myself to write out a sex scene with D while trying to keep him true to his character. I wish I had more of an example of him in a sensual mode. Maybe I should write to Kevin Leahy and send a email his way towards Mr. Kikuchi, and ask once and for all if he can write something showing D's bedside manner. Whats he like in bed damn it??? mad heart
I think D's style of romance is leaving flowers in secret to a girl. Hehe, he's so inexperienced in romance that he's hides his interest all the time. Well he doesn't think he can ever have a love life with any woman. He's too shy to be bedded down. Doris almost but..

I too, would like to see what his manner would be like if he were to drop his guard. There are clues in the first book that tell that D is attracted to Doris-- but it simply isn't enough. She is my favourite female character within the entire series, and she's strong too. He's met many strong women, but I think Doris takes the cake. So far, she's the only one I remember being bitten by a Noble of high rank, and still had the strength to keep going. D even voices this, which goes once more to the fact that there is attraction for her.

Another thing that drew my attention is that, so far, Doris is the only woman he's ever kissed in the series. And, as you mentioned in a different thread, she is mentioned by the doctor in the fourth book, Tale of the Dead Town. An entire paragraph is dedicated to her, Dan, and what D did for them.

Going back to my fan fiction topic, there are also many works that feature D going back to Ransylva, but Doris is long gone, and Dan has either become a doctor, or has remained on the farm and continued working there. Just the fact that Doris was mentioned in the fourth book, and it stirred something within D to remember such memories really does mean that it's not just infatuation between the two. Sure she depended on him because she felt safe, but who wouldn't? I hope that Kikuchi-san will feature her in more works, even if it's only her memory.

xd And then there is me who was actually rather ticked he so much as kissed her.

Being an author myself, perhaps this is why I have that reaction. D is a stoic character, and he becomes more so as the series continues (keep in mind I've not read the latest 2-3 books yet). Between that and the fact that he is inhumanely gorgeous it is fitting that he is untouchable. I actually have a character that is along the same lines as him, though not quite as stoic, who I have pointedly kept untouchable because if someone managed to reach him in such a way he'd be a bit ruined.

xd I have this view strongly enough that I seriously have to remind myself that, yes, D and Doris actually did kiss in the books and it's not some hormone fangirl fantasy. sweatdrop I have such denial about the event. It makes me laugh at myself.

Btw, I did in fact develop this character of mine before finding the novels in my local bookstore.
