Kinji smiles as Xue chatters on, the feeling of listening someone close to his own age wonderful. He has been alone for so long, with Hisame unable to hear him, so he is certainly pleased with all of this.
What Kinji means by only seeing the sun is it has only been sunny while he has been here, so he does not know anything else. While he is glad to know it rains, he wonders if they are bad storms or just gentle ones. He loves both types as they make things grow quickly though one them sometimes comes with the thunder and lightening. He knows those are dangerous.
When Xue says he does not remember much about the Golden World, Kinji wonders if that's because he was never there, or does staying on this 'Gaia' make someone forget?

Oh oh oh! That makes more sense. Xue considers this before nodding; there are both bad storms and gentle ones. The bad ones scare him a little bit; he is not a fan of loud noises. But it is usually okay, because Des makes everyone cocoa, and he and Kar put up a tent in their room so they can't see the lightning.
A bit too late, Xue realizes that chattering about his Gaian family might not be the best idea, and stops abruptly. He looks at Vivi, who has fallen asleep with her head on his lap, and then back at Kinji. Would he like to visit them sometime? he offers tentatively. He knows that Kinji is still getting used to Gaia (and has probably left people behind), but most of his family can understand him, and it might be good for him to talk to new people.
The nature of Kinji's last question confuses Xue. He doesn't think that staying in Gaia makes people forget things; he knows people from other places who remember the other places. But Xue was quite small when he came, and so much has happened since, that he assumes he had to forget things in order to remember new ones.
Of course, there is another possibility- that he simply doesn't want to remember- but Xue does not mention that.

Kinji apologizes if he has made Xue uneasy in any way, he did not mean to do so, and a small look of sadness crosses his gaunt face. He is just a little worried because there are people he does not want to forget, if that were to happen, but since Xue has said it may not, he feels happier thinking like that.
To the offer of meeting Xue's family, Kinji feels a little to anxious to reply. He does not think showing himself to too many people would be wise, as he knows his appearance will draw attention and questions - things he does not like nor want. The offer is greatly appreciated however, and he thanks in turn for the kindness.
Maybe one day when he is able to speak with Hisame-san he thinks he can go, since he will need Hisame-san's permission to go.

Uneasy? No no no, Xue is absolutely tip-top okay! It is Kinji that he is worried about, and the fact that Xue might have been a bit insensitive. He's just never really had to worry about his "real" family, and that makes him forget that other people might be more attached. Not that that's a bad thing, of course...
As he tries to tread the line between being welcoming and rubbing his family in Kinji's face, Xue is quick to note that his family would probably not be startled. After all, he has lived with them for years, so they are used to Porcelain! The thought of anything else being disturbing about Kinji does not even cross Xue's mind. But if Kinji is not ready to see other people, Xue understands. He is sure his family would welcome Kinji whenever- and cuts off abruptly again, not sure what to say anymore.
Is Kinji upset with Xue? Should he go away? gonk
