"I would like one of those and one of those," Jade pointed to sharp objects on a wall at a weapons dealer shop. Jade didn't hold onto her weapons long. She didn't take the time to sharpen them so she could regularly be found in dealer shops across the tri-state area.
"Do you have ID?" The man asked would any thought.
She grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him halfway across the counter hissing in his face, "King Pin doesn't need identification."
"Yes, ma'am," all the man needed to hear was the name King Pin and the previous question was dropped. Jade walked out with what she needed in a bag. She managed to make herself look somewhat 'normal' on the streets; however, she had a big 'do not screw with me' look on her face.
She mumbled to herself about her mission, "A few more targets to go... and then the Xavier Institute is getting a rude wake up call. How many people can piss off King Pin at one time?"
She glanced a newspaper headline as she headed into the local coffee shop. It said something about a serial killer and another dead body being found in an ally. That was her, she didn't have to read it. She never cleaned up the bodies, they were to be an example to everybody else she was after.

Inside that same coffee shop, ((>>)) Kris sits at one of the scant tables, sipping a moccachino. In front of him is a newspaper, the front page lying beside him, infront of him is the crossword, in his eyes, the biggest contribution of americsan newspapers to the general public. Right now there are two words that have him stumped. he'd just finished one that gave the clue 'light green stone used in statues,' four spaces. "...Jade," he mutters quietly as he fills it in, taking a pause to sip his coffee.
Scanning over the other pieces of the paper, he sees there has been a murder, nothing new, overall, the usual crap. Another letter to the editor about the dangers of mutants, and some yahoo claiming mutants are aliens. Sighing, he puts down his coffee and returns to the crossword, pondering the next clue, absentmidedly chewing on the end of his pen.

Kidd coatiously walked up the path to the exaver insitut. her eye were darting everywere to see if there were people around, like those hikck muant haters she met in town. she cluched her transfer paper tightly to her chest, as if some one steel them. she heard a noise is the bushes and she quickend her pace. she knew that the Exaver Instaute was supose to be a safe havan formuants as well as a school. but she'd also heard or rumers of very dangerous munants going her. "heh,..." she laughted to her self. she could problably be conted as one of them. then her face dropped into a frown. but her didn't mean to be that way it wasn't her fault. anouthe rusle isn the bushes send her into a trot to the seot which were only feet away. in her fear she was apsent mindadly leaving icey foot prints in her wake. a little side effect or her power. she reached the front doors and looked brhind her. she sied with realf. half smiling she reached for the door. but she hesitated. maybe those riumers wer true? would this place be safer that any other she'd tryed? in a heep of frustration her sat down and leaned agains the stone railing to the front entrace. a hundred questions were now flowing threw her mind. all of them questioning the decistion she'd made weeks agoe to go to this insatute. she sied agan and started to make little figers with her power. a little cat. a mouse. she sat there playing with them, in the sun of that butiful bayville day. but they wouldn't melt in her icey hands. she'd wait hear for a moment or two to try to gather her curage to enter this unknow building.

"Well it was... heh.. nice meeting you i guess. Weird" Kade entered the kitchen and glanced around. Pratically drooling at the time. He walked up to the fridge and opened its door's and began his raid upon its contents. Kade left the kitchen satisfied. A burp left his lips. "Mmnnn..." He murmered. He approached the lounging room and picked up the remote to the T.V. and turned it on and watched the program.

Theresa made it back to her room. SHe sat on her bed, idnian style, her oversized tee drapingover her sholder and touching her blue jeans. Her red hair was straight and let down. She grabs a rubber band and pony tails the firey locks, and then she grabs a book and decides to do a little reading.

Markus had returned to his room. After depositing his stuff in the kitchen he decided to make himself scarce and catch up on his reading. He was there for an hour when he decided to go get some excersize. Putting a vlip on the bag of chips he returned to the kitchen and put them away. He then started off to the danger room.

OOC: Not to be an a**, but Xavier Institute is how it's spelt.
IC:
She heard her name in one direction. Of course, her name was a common english word. Nonetheless, her senses made her take a small glance to see where it was coming from. Harmless she determined using her best of judgements. Not one of King Pin's opponents. Nothing to worry about. He was doing a crossword puzzle.
Standing in line to get a cup of some kind of caffeine, she glanced over the man's shoulder as he worked in an almost indistinguishable way. Caffeine, she needed it. The days were long and she had no safehouse here. Too many enemies lay in Bayville.
Something pushed her to make her next move which wasn't entirely in character. Jade had a feeling it was that nagging voice in her head trying to push her to do something stupid... to push her to get caught. Damn consciences. No matter how far they were pushed back, they never went away.
"The answer is dharma," She pointed to one of the rows missing an answer. She had read it from the line. She had seen the word Jade on the board as well which explained the name.
In a slightly dry and without any sign of emotion she spoke to the man, "I am sorry to bother you. I am new in town and wanted to know the safest place to find a room... crazy world out there. Can you help?"
Damn conscience. But maybe making some kind of contact wasn't bad. If she was discrete enough she could find out more than she needed to know about this measley little town.

"wow..." she muttered to her self. if was a big place, how could she find wear to get regestered? wondering would be dangerous, but what eles could she do. taking deep breaths she walk carfully threw the room, looking back makeing sure she didn't leav any of her foot prints.

Hearing the answer he'd been mulling over for a few minutes, he raises his head, following the voice to it's source, a ong woman, his eyes regestering mild surprise. "Thanks." lowering his head to write in the answer, he hears her question. "...If a hotel isn't something you approve of, I can tell you about a nice appartment complex where I live." His tone is cool and nonchallant, as if this sort of thing happens every day.
"...I'm Kris," he adds a few second later, turing around to give her a slight smiles, his subtle accent there as always. "..It looks like your next." He points to the barista behind the counter, tapping his finger against it quietly. Barista, as he figure out in the next few seconds, just happens to be the last answer in the puzzle. Putting down the puzzle, he picks up his cup and takes another sip, waiting for her return. He didn't know why she was so interested in lodgings, nor does he wish to inquire. He really didn't feel it was right or something he would want to do.

I'm still here. I'm going to make sure you screw up one of these days. You really think talking to this guy is going to help you.
Damn voice. Damn voice. Damn it. She couldn't escape from the route already taken without drawing attention so she decided to persue if anything else to make a contact. Make a contact... that if necessary, she could always use to draw any heat from herself. Always have a backup. Not that Jade needed one ever. She was just too damn good at her job.
After placing her order, she returned to the table with the man named Kris and sat down putting her bag under her feet, "I apologize for interrupting your puzzle. You seemed like a friendly face in a town of unfriendly people. But yes, could you direct me to this apartment complex? Hotels are as only as trustworthy as the manager that runs it, and I trust them as far as I can throw them...."

He shrugs. "..I'm glad you could help, it was driving me bonkers." As he gathers up the paper, he lets some of it slide onto the floor before replying, looking at her out of thecorner of his eye, from her view point, his eyes would seem focused on picking up the dropped paper. "...People here are unfriendly because they suspect almost everyone else of secretly being a mutant...." Having finished gathering the stray paper, he straightens, holding the paper in his left hand, his right hand on his forehead. "It's a damn nussance." The paper together, he smiles kindly. "It's true, and alot of them are very heavy, so you can't throw them very far." Finishing the rest of his coffee with a glup, he sticks the paper under one arm. "You can follow me, I'm walking back after this, but take your time with your coffee."

"Being a mutant isn't a bad secret to have," She wanted to feel out the conversation. She thought he might be a mutant, just a nagging sense she had but there were no outwardly indications could answer it for her.
"This is no worse than New York," She nodded and pushed her hair behind her ears to reveal the several peircings up them, "Not that I blame them... We can leave. I will take this with me."
I'm not gone... I'm going to make you slip up...
Go ahead little voice, and I'll kill this innocent.
Damn you, that's unfair.

He nods as he stands and exits the coffee shop. Outside he pulls out a packet of cigarettes, removing one and sticking it in the corner of his mouth, pausing, staring at it and the crumpling it up and throwing it away. "I never said it was." He turns his head slightly to look at her. "I know, I was there for a while months after the attack, it reminded me of what I read about the red scare, it shows what a wonderfully enlightened society we are," he remarks dryly before looking up at the sky. "At least you can see more of the stars here...." Shrugging, he begins walking back to his appartment.

Stars. She never looked at those. There wasn't any time and they were a proven distraction. That voice probably looked at the stars, probably wanted her to look at the stars.
"What do you do here?" She asked him trying to feel out more information, "I was a guidance counselor in my last locale... before all the craziness. They had their own Salem Witch Hunt of sorts."
Yea, right, what did Jade guide them to do. The only thing she's ever guided was a blade into somebody's gut. Her voice had the excitement of a snail and was enough to make any man kill himself if she spoke cold enough.
"Burning stakes and all," He asked.
"One with my name on it... of course, they had a hard time catching me," She said trying to sound as normal as possible, "Oh, and the name is Joy."
Ironic name.
Shut up.
