"You're also lucky you didn't break your leg!" he exclaimed and smiled back at her. He stopped at the edge of the tree line and looked about the meadow before them. There were some bare spots where the sun had melted away all the snow and the new grass was peeking through slightly. He spread out his own wings, also stretching them now that they were clear of the forest. He took in a deep breath and a smile spread across his face as a thought came into his mind.
Suddenly, the black stallion bolted passed his friend and bumped her shoulder with his nose as he passed. "Your it!!" he called backed as he bucked and ran through the meadow.

"Oh I know. I was just glad I wasn't galloping when I stepped in it. I am sure it would be far worse than tripping in a gopher hole." She said, grateful to be on more solid ground now, though it was only a matter of time before she'd be tripping in gopher holes; one of the many reasons she prefered flying.
She watched him out of the corner of her eye, wondering what they would do next, and curious as to why he was suddenly smiling. Both questions were answered a moment later with a bump on her shoulder. "Not for long." She shouted back, setting off at a gallop with her wings tucked close to her body.

The black stallion tucked his own wings in as close as he could get them to his body as his legs propelled him forward. He laughed loudly as he heard her call after him. He kicked up is back hooves a bit in joy and continued running. "We shall see! You have to catch me first!" he called back to her.

She was focused entirely on catching him, so much so that she didn't yell anything back. She was saving that for when she caught him. What she needed to do was get in the air, she was much faster in the air than on the ground. With a quick scan of the area that was flashing by as she galloped, she spotted a small hill that would be the perfect launching point, just a little out of the way she was galloping.
She galloped up the hill, opening her wings only once she reached the top and jumped into the open air. Using gravity and the air currents to her advantage, she glided over the grassy meadow staying only a few feet off the ground, until she reached Dustin and reached out with her nose to nudge him on the side. "Gotcha." She said as she flew just out of reach along side him.

He hadn't expected her to take to the air. Though he hadn't said anything about it being a game of tag on the ground only and so he was caught off guard when she suddenly showed up beside him and in the air.
"Hey!" he exclaimed as he came to a sliding stop, which was not all that graceful due to the mud that was on the ground. "That's not very fair!" he said panting from the run. Despite his protest, there was still a grin on his face.

"You didn't say I couldn't." She said with a playful grin, staying out of reach in case the game continued. "You can always fly after me." She added with a flutter of her wings, and pawed at the ground, as she got ready to take off once more. "Besides, it is much more fun up in the air. I can fly much faster than I can run."

Dustin laughed and knew she was right. They hadn't really said flying was or wasn't against the rules. Though he was so used to playing tag on the ground that he all but forgot that he could play it flying in the air. "I guess your right. We didn't agree on whether it was allowed or not. But you have to excuse me. I am not used to playing this game in the air. Anyone that I played it with was always a grounded as most of the foals are where I stay." he said with still a laugh in his voice.
