After the expulsion of magic the crow returned to her favored position and dropped to all fours. She could not afford to continuously release magic without a set target and no matter how still she stood she could not pinpoint the Nagi’s location. She set a palm against the damp stone floor, seeking perhaps a vibration, anything that might help. She felt a light tap against her thigh and an instant later a sharp pain; another stirring in her head as Sand turned herself over and over in swelling frustration. The crow’s form flickered and resurfaced a moment later on the other side of the dungeon.

She didn’t know how she had been released but relished in waking to find herself in the driver’s seat. Her shoulder and thigh appeared torn but while the crow delighted in her release the pain would be nonexistent.

-Sand has been freed!-

Known Attacks
Scorched Sand – Sand leaves behind pockets of heated sand, once touched the sand may blister the body.
Others remain unidentified.

The crow explored the dungeon with new eyes, clawed fingers eventually making their way to the wall of packed stone. She fit her nails into the chinks of stone and navigated the length of the wall. Scaling up to the dungeons ceiling, Sand’s movements remained purposeful and noiseless. Clung upside down she shook her body violently, shaking off a storm cloud of hot sand; although she could see little through the billowing clouds, she could only hope her opponent was somewhere beneath.

Another sliding pressure against the blade and Nagi grinned in satisfaction. She tried not to admit that she could still be very well fighting with a column; the satisfaction of hitting something in the mist was enough to drive her on. Catching herself distracted in her thoughts, she shook her head and tried to focus. Peering into the mist, she searched for some indication of pink. After a moment, she dropped to a hand and inched forward, naginata held to her chest off the ground.

There was a soft hissing noise echoing through the mist, and Nagi nervously sunk lower and froze. It sounded almost like rain...but raining in a dungeon? She turned her head to take in the mists surrounding her. She had to admit it, rain would probably not surprise her at this point. It might even dissipate the fog. But the hissing faded as soon as it came and the mist remained. Loosening her grip on the naginata, she breathed shallowly and began to swing the blade again, low and slow.

After a few moments of not hitting anything, she pursed her lips. Had her enemy backed off? She had yet to run headfirst into a column, so the knowledge that she must have wounded her opponent gave her strength. Thus far it had been a battle of calculation and surprise. The mist had seen to that. But this slow, painstaking manner of fighting was growing old. She needed something big, something drastic. Rising slowly, twisting her head around to keep an eye for incoming pink fire, she settled into a standing defensive stance. Looking around one last time, she jumped. The mist traveled downward uniformly, and for a moment Nagi wondered if she wouldn't be able to see above it.

Suddenly her vision filled with pink and she choked on a cry of surprise. Her opponent had been on the ceiling? Of all the crazy things... Almost forgetting herself, she took a wild swipe at the blaze of pink as she started to descend back into the mist.

Sand, previously clinging to the ceiling by the claws of her toes, doubled up on herself as the Nagi’s blade fought to find her again. She was beneath, of that Sand was sure. The ceiling was just a tad too high for even the naginata to reach, and to fall from this height might incur some injury as well. Sand thought over her options, prowl sightless through the mist again or drop upon her opponent? The latter would rely solely on luck, yet was a risk Sand found herself willing to take. Releasing the ceiling from her grasp the crow fell, fighting to fall like a cat might, with all claws pointed towards the earth.

A scrabble of claws and a loud thump resounded from the mist behind Nagi. Whirling, still caught up in the shock of finding her opponent on the ceiling, she fumbled to get the naginata in an offensive position. Suddenly aware that her opponent could jump off again at any moment, she took a wide swipe in the direction of the thump.

All four feet hit the dungeon floor in unison, the impact softened slightly due to the thin layer of sand upon the ground. She leaped almost immediately, a wise move as the naginata sliced through the cloud behind her. Before the Nagi could pull her weapon back Sand leapt again, wildly, trying yet again to find the poe from within the clouds.

A claw swept in front of her face and Nagi flinched in surprise. Slipping the naginata back towards her, she regained her footing and lunged out towards the shadow where the claw had come from. Finally, close combat, Nagi rejoiced. Maybe now the mist would lose its terrible effect of disguising her opponent.

Realizing that she had missed yet again Sand found herself snarling in frustration. Perhaps she needed to widen her attack radius a bit… Picking up her wounded pride she shook her hands towards the poe’s location, or at least where she might be. Sand spread across the floor, heated to an intense temperature. She hissed again, hoping the poe might step upon it before it had a chance to cool.

Hoping too much for an strike, Nagi overextended herself and wobbled precariously. Regaining her footing, she gripped her naginata tightly. Jumping had given her an opportunity to strike last time, even though she had missed. Settling into a defensive stance, tip down, she bunched energy in her back legs and jumped as high, and forward, as she could. she got a dim view of the ceiling, now empty, but hear the hiss of rain again as she descended. Confusion almost got the better of her focus, she saw a shadow shift under the mist and brought the naginata up almost too late. As she hit the ground, she swung the blade down with her.

Chaos gripped the reigns in this battle and Sand could not plan shrewdly when her opponent may be anywhere. Realizing she may have to strike blindly for a bit she began to shower the floor with more burning sand, just as the she heard what she believed to be the naginata strike the floor somewhere nearby.

There was more hissing in the air. It could not have been rain, so what could it possibly be? Maybe more mist emptying into the room? Swinging around to glare at the shifting gray around her, she adjusted her grip and swung the naginata again. This was frustrating now, she needed something drastic to happen.

Frustrated Sand made a hard turn… straight into a marble pillar. A broken sound, something like a cackle, escaped from her unchecked as she bounced back in surprise. She sighed, the cuts on her thigh and shoulder beginning to sting again with her hasty movements. Engulfed by an unnaturally thick block of cloud she walked forwards, feeling for her opponent blindly. Surprise didn’t seem to work, perhaps a blatant attack might.

Nagi overextended on the swipe, but she didn't care anymore as she pivoted and corrected herself. Going so long without seeing her opponent had made her sloppy... A scrabble of rock came from her left and she whirled in that direction. Finally, a definite indication of her opponent. Excitement made her careless, and when a pair of claws came out of the mist, she barely curled away fast enough for them to miss her face. Jagged lines of hot pain ran across her left shoulder, of course just barely missing her armor. She hissed in pain, but kept a reign on her concentration. Before her enemy could retreat again into the mist, she brought the naginata up by her right shoulder and swung down, hard.

Sand had managed to reach her opponent finally… only to realize that she had been hit in return! She balked and blinked, straining to gather her thoughts. She swung a fist to her opponents side, nerves still shaky.

A clenched fist swung out of the mist, barely missing a hastily sucked in stomach. Hauling the naginata up, she lunged awkwardly, her opponent too close for her usual fighting style. Gritting her teeth as she stopped herself from leaning too far into the lunge, she forced herself to be grateful she finally knew exactly where her opponent was.

Withdrawing her fist with a grunt, Sand steadied her mind and body for another attack. The Nagi’s blade came close, almost clipping the beast, yet somehow missed at the last moment. Sand took this opportunity to draw her weight back onto her haunches, using the strength from her legs to launch herself at the poe.
