"Yes, I'm sure one day I'll be better. I'm willing to wait as long as I have to..." He said, nodding his head enthusiastically. He had no doubt that he would beat his master some day. No matter how long he had to wait. He would bide his time for as long as he had to. He was also a bit of an optamist when it came down to it. After all, being a pessamist was pretty boring and lame. He wouldn't want to brood around like a mope.
"Yeah... they're fun. The girls." He said, nodding his head again, grinning at the thought of girls. "Oh yeah! Ka and Kai, they were the twins I met as well. They're pretty strong and asked me to show them around a bit. It was a good time. They talked to me a little about sparring too..." He leaned forward, suddenly very interested, "Hey! You wanna be my sparring partner? I don't have anyone to train with, and I bet if you and I worked together, we'd be the best around! Together, I bet we could be the best warriors in the entire pride!" Now there was a good idea if he had ever heard one.
"It's good to have role models too." He nodded, having quite a few himself. Azula being one... though stricly on the basis of how strong she was, and not on personality.
"I've written a few... but they're all crap." He admitted, not liking that it was true... but it was. "I haven't quite... found the proper inspiration yet, you see." He shrugged helplessly.

Iroh grinned. He liked this guy's tenacity! It was good to be devoted to something, be it poetry or becoming a warrior, or finding your one true love. This lion seemed to have all three in mind, and Iroh could do nothing but respect him for it. He purred in his odd way, the broken sound coming through his nose. It was punctuated by his breaths, but he didn't notice.
It was natural to him.
He blinked, drawn from his musing. Sparring partner? He had been looking for one, but he didn't know Jua all that well, and the twins had explained that it helped to know your partner. Though, in Iroh's mind, he imagined he would learn quite a bit from someone with a different style, each one teaching the other their own moves and how to defend against them. That seemed the more sensible choice, for someone determined to be able to fight anyone.
"That would be great!" Iroh said enthusiastically, smiling so broadly his pudgy cheeks were even more evident. He was slowly losing his baby fat, but he still had a way to go. It wasn't his fault he enjoyed food so much, "I think we could be the best, too! That would be something, wouldn't it? But I just want to serve my pride to the best of my ability. Us being the best would just be... an added bonus."
He grinned, unable to keep from getting a bit excited by the idea.
"And maybe if I help you get stronger you'll be able to focus more on finding your inspiration! So it'll all work out, in due time."

Jua grinned, very much intending to find his true love, become the best warrior in the entire universe, and become a master of poetry so he could, quite literally, sing his own praises. A man had to have goals after all, so he picked as many as he could think of. A little from collumn a, a little from collumn b. Why live life any other way except making sure you got everything you wanted?
"I know we could be the best!" Jua insisted, sitting up straight with his cocky grin growing like a weed along his face, "As long as we work our hardest, share techniques and all that, I bet that we could out-do everyone around us if we keep practising enough. And we're doing it early on, so no one will be able to catch up with our head start!" How had he not thought of this before? Clearly his genius had simply had to catch up with his pure awesome!
"I bet you're right whitey." He said, standing up and stretching out with glee, "You too, I think, so long as we stick together and work it out. We'll be the best out there, and we'll be masters of poetry and lovers of women while we're at it! Like my dad says, when you put your brains towards something, you'll get it for sure." Or at least he liked to assume that his dad would have said something like that if he actually remember Jua's name half the time...
...he wondered what Yu would think. Probably that it was a brilliant plan. Then only he and Iroh would be on top, and since Iroh would be his ally, he wouldn't have to kill him for being just as cool as he was. Everyone would be a winner!

Iroh nodded. It certainly sounded like a plan! He was excited, and he grinned, tail flicking behind him he bounced on his paws, hardly able to contain himself. Now he had this goal, with this new friend, and his new sparring partner! And he still had to make a poem! That last part was exciting because he suddenly felt like he had good poetry inside him, exhilarated.
Even if he still didn't know if he had inspiration.
"We should start some time soon! I'm sure I probably should be going home soon, but I don't know. We need to practice sparring! And maybe if I go home and think on it I can come up with a poem and learn it, and then share it with you next time! Though, I don't know exactly how a poem is supposed to sound, maybe you can tell me when I do one, how wrong it is? Learn by example. That's usually how I do things.
He nodded, thinking this a good plan. A very good plan. They were already on their way!

Jua nodded, listening to what Iroh said. In a weird way, he had only just realized that very second that he actually had a... friend? Was that weird? He had never really had a friend before. But he was beginning to think that he liked it quite a bit. Especially since Iroh seemed to like all the same things that he liked.
"Okay... how about we start tomorrow? Tonight, we can both work on some poetry, then tomorrow we'll meet up and talk about what we've learned. What do you think? Then, once we've done the poetry, we can try some actual sparring. I'm sure Azula will teach me some things I can pass on." Jua said with a wink, a grin cracking across his face as he nodded enthusiastically. Now he would be twice as strong! Azula wouldn't be able to complain that he hadn't been learning anything.
"And... well, I'll need to think of a new poem for you. So we'll work them out tomorrow, so we noth have something to work with." Jua said decisivly, looking up into the sky. He was sure there would be something to eat in the den soon... his mother didn't usually forget about dinner.

"That sounds like a good idea," Iroh concurred. He nodded, thoughtfully, considering the plan carefully to make sure it worked for him. Not that he had a heavy schedule, of course. He just wanted to make sure absolutely nothing got in the way.
So far he couldn't think of anything. Not surprising.
"I look forward to sparring! I've yet to try it, but I think I'll learn," he laughed, "I hope I don't do anything too ridiculously embarrassing, but I'm sure you won't tease me too much for it, if I do? Or you can, if it's funny. I'll probably be laughing too."
He nodded, "I should be going home now, but I'll meet you around here tomorrow? Thank you for spending time with me! I feel much happier now, than I was. It's good to make new friends." He smiled, sincerely, before turning away to head home.

Jua nodded and grinned, "You bet I'll make fun of you!" Though he seemed to be willing to be good natured about it instead of a jerk. In his own weird way, anyway.
"I'll see you tomorrow!" And with that, he headed home as well.
