Kari couldn't help but agree with Addie's question...she'd never had a particular liking for any of the Orc-dorks in the school. Least of all her own brother. In her opinion, they all tended to be snobbish and egotistical and worse then an entire trumpet section combined. Kari was pretty sure, after the first words had left his mouth, that she would not like this new teacher...but who new? He might surprise her...and he was right...him as a band teacher was better then no band teacher.

Micheal Seth Adrian

Seth snorted when he heard Adalyn's remark. He turned around and said, “Will you marry me?” Mr. Carpenter glared at him and Seth flashed him a smile. He didn't care what the new guy thought of him, Adalyn was right. He sighed and shook his head. If this guy couldn't teach them anything, he was useless. Raising his hand he asked, “Well sir, a teacher is better than no teacher but if I may ask, what is it you're planning to teach us? What's the field show this year?”

Jake walked into the room, being lat as he is he rushed to get his euphonium out, and he sat right down with the rest of them, getting his music out and everything. He tried his best not to get his well polished euphonium covered in fingerprints. Then he looked up to Mr. Carpenter to see if he noticed that he is late.

It was kind of difficult to not notice the euphonium player. But Kari ignored him, because she'd been late plenty times herself and she was too busy trying to listen to this new BD's answer. Because as much as she didn't like Seth (and she didn't) she was wondering the same thing. She, herself, had always been hoping on a masquerade theme. Or maybe a princess and knight thing. Or maybe Mario themed.

Adalyn laughed. "Not even in your dreams." she replied, flashing him a brilliant smile. She wanted to hear the BD's reply, to her question, not to mention the other girls. Leaning back, she pulled a pack of gum out of her pocket and grabbed a piece, walking to the trashcan in the back to throw out the wrapper without caring whether he was talking or not. Not that she was rude, Mr. Cooper had let them get up whenever, as long as they weren't playing.

David was not used to having people disrespect him but he remembered from his own high school years just how childish teenagers could be so he let it go.
"I haven't quite decided yet but I have narrowed it down to three ideas that you can all vote on." He turned and wrote on the board the title of the three show themes. "Anastasia" "Phantom of the Opera" and "Romeo and Juliet"

Kari groaned. Non of them were what she'd want. "Phantom of the Opera?" She questioned, out loud. "Everyone does that show!" She'd seen it enough on the Youtubes. She didn't even like the story of Romeo and Juilet...but at least that had a ball room scene in it. Then again, so did Anastasia. "I vote for Anastasia." She said, drumming her fingers on Aggy with a deep frown.

David turned and made a single tally on the board under the show she voted for. He looked around to see who had raised their hands.

Unlike most of the other students, Amy raised her hand so it wasn't until later on that she was finally called on. She, too voted for Anastasia.

((My BD picked the Wizard of Oz for next years show.))

Adalyn sighed. None of them were what she wanted. She didn't bother raisign her hand, simply stoodand shouted over the rest. "Anastasia!" it seemed the least of the three evils, not to mention she loved that movie. The music wasn't very percussion heavy though, and she wanted a challenge, not a waltz.

((One of my BD told me that they'd pretty much figured out the theme, but won't tell me what it is crying . My top three I want to do are what Kari wanted ^_^ wink )

______________

Kari was relieved, at least, that everyone was pretty much agreeing with her. She sent smiles to Addie and that one girl...Amy? She'd never really talked to her. With any luck, they'd actually be able to do Anastasia...and with any more luck, the low parts wouldn't be that bad. Hmmm...Maybe she'd be drilling with the brass section again this season...

Reading the board, Seth pondered the options. Really, all the options were mediocre at best. No drive to the music at all, no passion to the shows. How he yearned for something a little bit stronger, a little darker. “Spartacus” like Phantom did this year, or “Samurai” like the Cavis did. Oh well, it's not like he could do anything about it, he'd have to go with the flow as they say. “A romantic are we sir? I approve. Well, I'm alone in the thought but, let's go with The Phantom of the Opera. Maybe if we avoid the Andrew Lloyd Weber stuff, we could make a very good show.”

Lyra quietly opened the door and walked in. She winced a little, realizing how late she was. She mumbled something to herself about stupid math classes. Especially Calculus. Who else would have a quiz the day back!?

She walked up to the new band director (well, at least he would be nice to look at if she ever got bored) and handed him the note. "Sorry, sir, didn't want to be late, but I would like to blame my calculus class."

Glancing up at the board, she noticed the votes and added, "I vote for Anastasia as well."

That said, she got her mouthpiece and her silver Bach Omega (affectionately named Jay) and sat in her seat. She rested her chin on the curve of the bell pipe and looked at him expectantly.

Basically out of breath Nate ran to the band room. He really needed to drop Psych. The bell means class is over but the lectures lasted forever. Nate decided not to even be sneaky since he knew a Tuba would not go by unnoticed. So daringly walking into the bandroom he let out a muffled sorry and looked at the board. After a quick moment he replied in a quick voice,"Phantom of the Opera."
