And who's saying my character would do that?
Its more I planned to RP out this character growing up gradually. Not skip the transition completely. Designing her this way is basically a waste now.

Hey, Yumi-chan, you don't want to grow older, right? So, here's what I'm thinking. You know how Xeion has the ability to manipulate dimensions, ne? Well, I was playing with the concept of having Xeion train his skills in another dimension sort of like a reverse Hyperbolic Time Chamber from DBZ canon. If you want, you could join Xeion for a three-day training period from their view of time since he's going to train in a different dimensional time line, and when he comes back, the supposed three days of intense training became three years. So, how about that, Yumi-chan?

What if there is no future for a character in 3 years?

*facepalm*
No one gets this. Its not that I don't want her older, if anything its I had plans for getting to an older age that are now basically scrapped.
Sorry, just ignore me, I'm just pissed my character development I did ahead of time is useless.

I see what your talking about, and within three years; a lot can happen to completely and drastically change or alter a character to the point where the person is completely changed. Put a person through boot camp, and in less than one year a person has been molded differently to the extent that their own personal opinions change.
Or, when a significant person in their life disappears completely, let it be death or a move. Three years can completely throw an author off, if this three year change should happen, I think that it should start out small, and not be guild wide. This jump shouldn't be handled any differently than a guild wide plot, we should have a choice if we want to join or not, and their should be a semi split where if the majority wants the change then they can have it, while others can have the luxury to work their ways up to that change. Right now Ishi is going through a major change, and it cannot be completed until Torrik returns here to Gaia.
I'm going to add my vote to no, we shouldn't have a three year jump. It's jumping too big of a gap for the rest of us to "fill in the blank..."

It's not appearance Yumi (( You have the same name as my step-mom... o.O )) but the emotional and psychological maturity of my RPC. I probably would have to alter her complete persona as well as my role-playing style to fit a newly aged RPC.

However Maxi will have grown a bit and look a bit more roguish. He would be 28 after the jump after all.

@Maxi- You're already rougish. What's three more years of bombs and science? @Chiu- Long hair might look really good on you, little fox girl. ^_^ @Yumi- I really don't understand how this affects your slow, gradual character development. If anything, this could really enhance how you, as an author, look at the character and writing as her. If you wanted, you could just have a thread of things that happened to Yumi during that timeframe, thus making it not useless to have written it. People will draw on the knowlege of your character from such posts as that.
At any rate, Ishi may have it right. Maybe we could play it like Squad 12 has an accident and speeds up time in the Sereitei, multiplying it by a factor of three compared to earth-time. It won't affect earth that way, and Shinigami get their time skip.
