Rook nodded " It's nice when your family takes care of you, my sisters are like that."

" Well smaller than that" Rook said with a smile tilting his head up so he wasn't partly getting water in his mouth when he talked. " first there's mom, she runs a convenience store , she found me as a cabbage in her store room which was weird because she doesn't sell cabbages. Actually it was Bishop who found me and asked where cabbages were supposed to go. Rook smiled thinking of Bishop.

" Bishop is the youngest of us though Mom had her the longest. She's sort of an owl but only a little, she imagines stuff a lot and has a lot of energy." Bishop was easily the most active member of the household.

" Then there's Andrea who's almost as old as me, she;s normal though she's got magical dog tails on her that won't come off. sort of like this" rook explained as he lifted his left leg to show of his shackle.

" Then it's just me and Check which is some sort of weird flying cat that came from a brussel sprout that Kaimi gave Bishop"

" That sounds like a very big and fun family," Rook admitted, before swishing his tail a little creating a small wave and changing how he was laying. The boy always found it interesting that he could use his tail to steer himself in the water.

" Thank you.' Rook enjoyed the compliment, lately he'd doubted his strange looks feeling as if they outcast him from potential friends and while no one on his family looked exactly alike they were all more of less human and he was not. " At least it has a use, the jewels in my head and on my arm I don't know what they do" he admitted, aside from having shone brilliantly when he spontaneously grew a month ago Rook wasn't really sure what their purpose was " I'm guessing your fur is supposed to help keep you warm or cool." The nature channel had taught him that everything animals had was for reasons, therefore everything on an animal like child had must have purpose too.

Out of things to say Rook went silent, not certain what subject if any to broach next. He didn't usually have long conversations with people in the pool.

Rook smiled. Cabernet was a fast learner, already she could swim around him, perhaps they could be swim buddies in the future, it might be nice to have someone to swim with regularly. " They're heavy" the rubbery skinned boy explained" so they sink to the bottom of the pool and you have to dive for them, it's a game but it's also good for learning how to swim on the bottom or how to hold your breath if you try and collect them all before your surface." As it was rook was pretty much just exercising his tail at the moment keeping the rings on it afloat, although he'd never considered doing that before, making sure his tail exercised, it seemed silly but maybe it was important.

" Sort of" he hadn't planned on using them that way it was just easier to carry them on his tail when collecting them. it left his hands free to grab the others. " Did you want to dive for one" He wasn't sure the panda girl was ready yet for such a thing but it wouldn't hurt to let her try if he stayed close by. If anything went wrong Rook was sure he could pull the girl up before she got badly hurt or inhaled too much water
