Kachero watched as his niece, though he didn't know her as that, crawled carefully close to the sitting lizard. How careful she was! That kind of care and attention was good for investigating. It was always a good idea to know where everything was, including your tail and the furthest reach of your fur. He nodded to himself, as if listening to his own lesson in his head, then refocused on her pounce.
Letting out a laugh as she sailed through the air, Kachero moved into action to assist her. The lizard managed to slip away quickly from between the young lionesses' paws, skittering from the rock and into the grass. Kachero, having positioned himself carefully, darted to cut it off. It was forced to turn, but Kachero stamped a heavy paw on its tail.
"Hey look! Come here! I got it trapped! Wanna see it up close?" He grinned, himself very interested in getting a better look at the creature, which had stopped moving completely out of fear.

Urvi didn't know that she hadn't caught it until she lifted up a paw. But the other had already seen it, and as soon as she started to look around for it. The other was calling her over. So, she was slow, she figured. At least he was there, right? She stood up with a smile and a flick of her tail as she bounced over to where he was. She really was curious about them. She looked down at the lizard. It was odd, and almost ugly looking. Though it had a hint of cuteness to it. "Is it dead?" She asked as she went to poke it to see what would happen. It's head seemed to be just one long arrow type point. With two holes at the end. Eyes popping out of it's head. Odd really. She wondered if it had any teeth, or if it just crushed it's food like a duck. So many questions that probably wouldn't get answered. She figured it was best not to ask too many questions. Or they'd find her annoying, and probably wouldn't want to be around her.

"Nah, it's not dead," Kachero said, smiling softly, "it's just scared. It thinks we're going to eat it. Which, you know, you could if you wanted to. I don't like the way they taste, though."
Kachero, of course, loved questions. He was a detective, after all. It was the way he lived his life: asking himself questions and seeking the answers from others. Which often led him to ask more questions of them, and some inevitably went unanswered. But that's how he kept things interesting. Life was one big mystery, and he was solving it one piece at a time, as best as he knew how.
He used his paw and poked at the lizard's head until it opened its mouth angrily.
"Look, see that? Not dead. It just doesn't know what to do. It's trying to bite me, see, but it doesn't really have teeth. They don't hurt, anyway. These things are the best to play with because they're mostly just fast and stupid. Do you want to touch it?"

She raised a brow. Eat it? She looked up at him. "But it's still alive. I can't eat it. It's looking right at me." She told him as she looked down at the little creature. She couldn't take it's life. Not right now anyways. She wasn't hungry. Plus, he said they were nasty, they must be nasty. She squeaked as it's mouth opened afraid it might jump at her. But when he said they didn't hurt she giggled embarrassed.
She moved her paw to the top of the lizard's head. "It feels weird" she told the other as she kinda gently touched it. She didn't want to hurt the thing, nor did she want to frighten it too much more. "Do you think he'd be ok after we let him go?" She asked him. With him, she would always get an answer, and not knowing better, she believed them. Even if they happened to be not true, or slightly incorrect. He could probably tell her almost anything, and she'd believe him.

Cash laughed, shaking his head.
"Well, I didn't mean alive," he said, grinning at her fondly. He watched as she touched it, smiling. He liked the way she was so gentle about it. He kept his paw on the lizard's tail, making sure it didn't make any fast movements or try to attack her.
"He'll be fine. He's probably used to this stuff by now, living here. There are lots of little lions about, looking for things to play with. Heck, I might have already bothered this same little guy before, for all I know. He doesn't look too happy to see me."
He grinned, nodding.
"Want me to let him go?"

"Really, are you sure?" she didn't want the little creature to be hurt by all this, at least not right now. Now if she was hungry, this little lizard would probably be her snack. She lashed her tail about as she watched the little lizard. Moving her head from it to the Cash. She nodded at him. "I think we should let it go." It would be the best thing to do right?

Kachero smiled. It was cute to see her deciding on a more noble path. He probably would have eaten it when he was her age. Even now, he was tempted to chew on it, despite knowing it wasn't the most flavorful of chew toys. But he would do what she decreed.
Lifting his paw, the let the lizard free. It remained perfectly still of a long time, not sure if it was somehow being tricked or falling into a trap that was, by all accounts, completely unnecessary because it was already trapped by the two lions.
Then it decided it was good to go and it scampered off, slithering into a near by bush with lightning fast movements and vanishing into the thicket.
"Ha! There it goes! I'm sure it'll be thankful to you later. That was nice, letting it go. But I should probably be heading home now. Want me to walk you somewhere first? I wouldn't want to leave you on your own."

She giggled as it ran away. The moved so funny. She couldn't help to giggle. She wanted to eat it, but she wasn't hungry, so there was no reason to kill something when not hungry. He'd be saved for another day. Though, she was sure next time he got caught he wouldn't be as lucky as he was today. "Bye bye mister lizard!" She spoke then turned towards the other. She shook her head. "no no, it's fine. I know my way back." She told him. Which she did, she wondered with her brother Urzlan a lot. He was like her best friend.

"Alright then, Kiddo!" Kachero said, looking suave and holding himself up with an impressive air of calm and collected, albeit practiced, cool, "I guess I'd better head out."
He patted her on the head with his paw carefully, ruffling her tuft of fur.
"You're a good cub. Keep up that inquisitive nature, and you'll make a fine detective one day. Someone who figures stuff out for other people, like I am. I'll see you again soon, if you're up to it, and we'll go investigate something else. Sound like a plan?"
He grin, only one side of his mouth pulling upwards as he tilted his head in his characteristic fashion. He waved his paw at her, then cantered off into the jungle, back to his den. He was happy to have met the little cub, though he still couldn't shake the innate feeling of knowing her.

She wanted to be like him. He seemed like a good role model. She smiled at him excitingly. "That'd be super awesome!" She said happily. To help other's out sounded like the best thing in the world! She beamed up at him as she pawed at her hair fluff to make it less messy. When he was gone she turned and happily bounced off. She'd have to tell her brother Urzlan all about him! She couldn't wait. Urzlan was pretty much her favorite brother, as well as her best friend.
