His mother has always believed that he was right, but she was smart enough to know that things never stayed the same. Within the last years, that was becoming rapidly apparenty as well as nations turned their eyes to two other young royals whom cared not for what others thought about how they felt for each other. The one thing him and Fianna had always minded in a sense. "Suppose that's the joy of the younger generation, they're always coming up with even more crazy ideas." Leading her to the dining hall and pulling out her seat for her, though his attention was drawn up at the other two who walked in from another entrance.
Fianna had used those excuses before when it came to Kieran. Well then, she's just have to link Glynnic himself and talk to him about coming over to see Lharika. The girl needed to not lock herself up and away. "I'll leave it up to you then." Pushing her into the dining room, arriving about the time the other two did. "Morning..."

"At the very least that younger generation has you who always believed in those crazy ideas from the start. That will help them quite a bit as things around them begin to crumble." She stepped into the dining room, giving a nod to her daughter-in-law, for all intensive purposes, and her granddaughter. "Good morning."
So Fianna was going to drop it. That was always good news. She walked in herself, pausing at the sight of the other two. "Hi Daddy...Grandma..."
Elaria paused at the younger elf's voice and, for some reason, released her son's arm and walked over, pulling her granddaughter into a hug. "I'm still here, child. Don't be afraid."

Kieran braced his hands on the back of the chair he was standing behind, turning his eyes down to the table and closing them a moment to keep himself together at his mother's statement.
Fianna merely stayed where she was, hands clasped in front of her and quiet, watching a man who should be her husband go through the motions of trying to appear stronger than he was about this all. She knew he was hurting...she felt the ache of his heart deep in her own chest, lodged there and taking up too much space so that it made breathing a task. She was suffering with him but he wouldn't let her suffer at his side with him.
"I think you should stay with Fianna for a while Lharika." Breaking the overall silence in the room as he sat down heavily, still staring at the table even as commonplace motions of serfs brought food to the table without being told to.

Lark didn't really react to the hug in any major way, she simply returned it and then took her seat and began eating. She had her own reasoning behind her father's statement but merely glanced up at him then over at her mother. "Okay." It was easier just to agree and have no opinion whatsoever.
"Kieran, I don't think Fianna wants to leave and I don't think you should make her, either. You need her right now. I'll be fine."

"She has things to do in Odaria."
"Luccaydyn is handling everything while I'm gone, and he'll be fine. He's a fast learner."
"Mother, you're supposed to sit down and eat."
It did sting a little that he would change subjects rather than admit to them, but he was dealing with this as best he knew how right now. Rather than fight him on it, she merely went along with him. Sitting down herself, she picked at her food eating some but not very much. "And you are too." Which got her a look from him before he promptly went to poking at his own food.
Caprice laced her arms over Lateef's shoulder, buzzling him lightly in affection. "My love, there's nothing more we can do?"

Elaria took her sit and began eating a piece of toast, surprised to find that she actually did feel somewhat hungry. Then again, she hadn't really eaten since the day he died, just little sips of soup and nibbles at crackers every now and again when a servant forced her. "Kierry, you're avoiding the subject just like you did when you were a child. You need someone and it isn't me. I need you but you need someone you can lean on and I'm not strong enough to do that right now."
She must have felt his spike in sadness...he'd been about to break down into tears, sitting with his head hanging and his hands scrubbing at his face. Reaching up, he gently patted her hands then lifted them and brushed his lips across the smooth knuckles. "Besides lock Kieran and Fianna in a room chained together? I don't know what else to do, Caprice. He won't talk to me, he won't talk to her, he won't even acknowledge Lark beyond an impersonal level. I know he's scared but he's going to kill himself next if he keeps it all locked inside."

There were no secrets at this table as everything was said out loud and everyone was privy to it all. However, his temper was getting the better of him these days as he used it as a defense mechanism, thus his tone was rough. "There are more important things than myself right now."
"It's alright Elaira...let him alone. When he comes to his senses he can talk however much he wants." Kieran was trying to be the strength that his mother did need, Fianna understood that. But she wasn't going to baby him either.
Pressing a kiss to her husbands temple she gave a light sigh. "He's scared. I was terrified when my father died, and my mother did follow shortly after." Resting her cheek on top of his head a moment as she thought. "What if you got Kieran out with you for a while. You've always been able to help clear his head and get him to speak up."

Ever since the funeral Galesen knew he would not see Isle as much as they have been doing so, which was fine because she needed time to process things. Still Galesen could feel something, it was the fuzziness that he felt when around Isle, but he couldn't bother her too much unless he wanted her to get angry at him. So quietly he sat down next to her and smiled a little before saying, "He was heading out when I came across him, we just briefly talked for a moment before I had to usher him along to get going to class." A small chuckle there before he took her hand and gave a small tug. "Come with me Isle, I was thinking we can go up the mountain a little today?" Nothing serious to be done with them, he just wanted her out of the palace and take in some fresh mountain air, it looked like she needed it.

In the face of her son's anger, Elaria's resolve crumpled. Her face fell and tears brightening her eyes. "Very well. Whatever you think is best, son." And there went her appetite completely, too.
"I know he is but that doesn't mean he can neglect everything else, including himself." Shaking his head and reaching around to pull her into his lap before wrapping his arms around her and resting his chin on her head. "I can try...but I don't know if it will honestly do any good or not. He's going to have to leave his mother and that's damn near impossible for him right now."

Fianna shook her head and got herself up from the table, walking over to Elaria and urged her up from her seat, merely giving Kieran her own angry look when he looked to see what she was doing. The 'shut up darling' look. "Come along Elaria." Taking the woman back upstairs with some gentle urging and back to her room. Though Fianna did take the time to open the window to let the breeze in at least. "He's just worried about you Elaria. He feels so guilty and he's trying to make it up to you." And all but begged his mother not to give up either. Fianna may have differences with Kieran's parents, but not was not a time for such boundaries.
She rested against him, giving him the comfort he needed by being there with him. "You're like brothers." Even if they needed a crowbar to seperate Kieran from his mother for a prolonged period of time. "He at least needs to say that he feels guilty out loud and someone needs to tell him not to be and why. His mother can't do it because she can't talk about it right now. He won't believe anyone else."
"Oh good. He tends to skip out from time to time when he thinks it's boring." Shaking her head and waiting Galesen a moment before she nibble her bottom lip and shook her head again. "Galesen I can't, daddy needs me here right now."

"Yeah I know." Of course because some times Nillrik came and hanged out with him at the shop when he was bored. Though Galesen sighed and smiled a little even though he was told no by her. "I understand Isle, I do but you should look at yourself. You are taking this just as hard as anyone else is, you need to get out of the palace. At least spend some time in the garden, what do you say hm?"

Elaria went quietly, leaning on Fianna for support as she settled into her chair once more. "I know that, Fianna. I don't know what to do or how to make it better. He wants me to guarantee that I'm not leaving him too but I can't promise him anything. It hurts..."
"You shouldn't yell at her. She's already upset and that just makes it worse."
"Stubborn b*****d. I know it and you know it but it's not quite that simple when it comes down to it. It not being that simple is what really worries me more than anything else." His wife was exactly right though and he knew it. "I'll try to kidnap him later today. Maybe Fianna can help me."

"Time only makes these sorts of things better, I'm afraid." Which was the truth and that was all there was to it. "I can't imagine how much losing him hurts, but I remember when I did hurt Kieran and how sick he was for the longest time. I suppose such pain multiplied is unbearable." Turning to Elaria once more, "You can't promise him that you'll stay...but perhaps you can promise him that you'll tell him if you've decided to go and not just leave him one night."
He was staring at his food, but his eyes turned to Lharika as she was the one chastising him. "I know...I don't mean to. I'm just scared Lharika."
"You and Fianna can accomplish anything when it comes to that man, as I've observed." Nuzzling under his chin lightly. "Someone needs to rattle him if anything right now."
She sighed lightly as he insisted. "I suppose a walk in the garden won't hurt. If they need me I'm still within yelling distance."

"Yes, it is a bit like that. You understand more than most even though you never officially married my son. You've always been my daughter-in-law in my heart so please, Fianna, help him. Help him understand that I would never do that. I see how hurt he is with his father gone. If I decide to join...Ahk-" It still hurt too much to say his name. "-my husband, I will certainly say my goodbyes and set things to right before I go. My son will know well in advance."
She crossed her arms and glared down at her food. "We all are, Daddy Kieran. None of us know what's going to happen and it's like waiting for the other shoe to drop."
He dropped a kiss to the top of her head and lightly played with the sleeve of her dress. "Yes, I think an intervention is in order. If anything, I can always ask one of the other royals to help me. Maybe a sojourn beneath the water will help him get his priorities straight."

"Alright then, get ready and then we will head out." So Galesen waited quietly for Isle to get ready, and when she was Galesen and her went outside to the garden. And so they just began to walk among the flowers and plants, they were quiet for awhile since the whole ordeal was very stressful. "So, thinking about entering the tournament that is coming up?" Ah idle conversation, what a great thing to fall back on.
