Clearly he had said something right. He was being rewarded with many kisses after all. He was expecting another one when all of a sudden she moved backwards. Blinking was all he could manage. Had he done something wrong or was she still having odd mood changes? The bright and excited grin on her face made him consider the second option seriously.
"It kicked you?" He asked slowly not sure why she was happy about that. Mood swings seemed to be a very likely answer right now. "But...didn't that...hurt?" His brain didn't seem to be functioning at all right now. Children and giving birth to them were still a bit of a mystery to him. He knew what made them but get from step A to child left a rather large gap where he hadn't a clue. Estelle seemed very excited about it though so perhaps the pain was a good thing? He would go with that even if it didn't make much sense.
There was a moment of excited silence before she burst out with a question. From kicking to names seemed like a large leap to him but the more he thought about this particular leap the more he got it. Jumping from pain to joy still made no sense. Luckily she wasn't asking him about his thoughts on that. Giving an opinion on a name was simple enough.
"I think it's pretty...but...isn't it a kinda...girly name?" His voice was nervous because for some reason he felt like he was walking on egg shells again. It really did sound like a girls name though. What if they had a boy? It wouldn't be right to give a son that kind of name. They'd need something stronger sounding.

With his surprised words about the action of being kicked Estelle found herself simply nodding, it was not something she could justify or explain in words, it overwhelmed her in such a way that she suddenly felt more protective towards the little bundle that took shelter within her.
She giggled softly as the happy-yet-dopy look that was spread across his face, always so innocent yet when he placed his heart into something she knew that he would never leave, and his words assured her that he had indeed place his heart into her hooves, her most precious possession, that and their child.
As he spoke she flopped her head softly to one side in an attempt to figure out what was going on within his mind, as always Ayden seemed to be contemplating wonders unknown to her, she imagined that within his mind was a forest that he sometimes found himself lost within. She nodded at the realisation of his words, Etoile was a pretty girly name, but it was something she had found herself contemplating while acknowledging her ‘condition’, yet she had never considered a male alternative. "Em..." she stammered as her mind tried to fumble with ideas and names that she knew that would suit their child. "Spot?" she blurted without much though, she began to shake her head suddenly as if attempting to dismiss the very notion of the name Spot.
Still thinking she wondered what a reasonable name for a boy would be, she had very few interactions with males that left a pleasant image in her mind bar Ayden, it was for that reason that she had focussed more on female names. Gulping softly she looked towards him slightly puzzled, "Any ideas?" Her voice was soft and slightly distant as she found herself still attempting to come up with a male name on her own.

He was pleased that his comment on the name did not warrant an immediate negative reaction. However, it did lead to some very troubling questions. He simply stared at Estelle as she uttered the name 'Spot'. She had come up with such a lovely name for a girl but it didn't seem her naming skills covered everything. They couldn't name their kid Spot and based on the shaking of her head not a second later he could see she agreed with that unspoken thought. What a relief. He hadn't wanted to say he didn't like it out of risk of laughing at it.
After a moment she turned the question back at him and he stood there gaping like a fish. "Uhhhhh...." Was all that managed to come out of his mouth. He didn't know. All the guys he knew had really weird names that he wasn't sure he'd want to give to a son. Not that the names would really suit any child of theirs anyway.
His golden eyes wandered skyward as he tried to think. Something strong but not angry sounding. Something gentle but not really feminine. Something to do with the stars of his mate and him as well. "How about...like...Astral or something?" It was a question. He really had no brilliant ideas. He just knew that Estelle was the stars and his mother was the moon. Space just seemed to fit. Or rather, he hoped space fit. Ayden wasn't sure he would be able to come up with another name. At least not at that very second.

Listening intently she nodded with delight at his suggested name. "Astral" She chirped, it seemed to fit completely, "So Etoile and Astral!" all she could think was how perfect their names were. Everything was so perfect, it was a feeling that made her happy, he hadn't punished her for leaving and welcomed her back with open arms. Could she really be so lucky?? The smile never left her lips.
She leaned into Ayden softly, listening to his heart beat for a moment. "You know what Ayden?" a little giggle left her lips simply at the thought of what was about to follow. "I want to have a big family, with lots and lots of children.... would that..." she paused for a moment, she wanted to know, she needed to know, but at the same time she knew she would not be able to bare it if he said no. Gulping a little she took a deep breath and forced herself to continue, "...be ok with you??" How strange a question. She hoped that her heart was right, that she wanted to be with him, and she hoped that his reaction to their first lot of children was also a good omen of his future intention... but only time could really tell that store.
------------------------------------------------
This all happened so long ago now that it was merely a happy memory to Estelle. They had had two healthy girls and called them Etoile and Astral despite the name Astral being intended for a boy (they would simply keep that part to themselves) and here they where awaiting their second lot of baskets. She was lucky. Her dream was coming true, she would treat her family right she was determinded of that.
Her faviourite thing to do was sit with Ayden, the girls and the baskets as Ayden told one of his fairytale like stories, they were filled with adventure and mystery and she loved to see the twinkle of innocence in her girls eyes even as young ladies themselfs. Yet as they grew older she knew that one day they would take a mate of their own, grow away from Estelles perfect little herd and start their own. That would be a sad day, but one that she hoped would not happen for a very long time to come...
...after all she had three more little members to worry about.
