Overcome with a feeling of relief as they entered the safety of the dorm buildings, Wynn loosened his grip from Nash's neck as he expected the other student to drop him there. It was to his surprise as he wasn't dropped at all but jostled again to keep him in place on the other's back. He listened as the other offered to take him up to his room and he gave a helpless nod over Nash's shoulder. Of course, Wynn would be fine now, he trusted himself enough to walk on cold floors and safely reach his bedroom, but it seemed like good intentioned Nash was determined to carry him all the way to his quarters.

"Second floor," Wynn told Nash as he readjusted his arms around the boy's head, blinking away his tussled bangs, "Last room, by window." The boy flexed his toes and glanced at them from over Nash's shoulder. They were moving, but Wynn couldn't feel them, and that made the edges of Wynn's lip perk in a smile. Just like home, he thought as he flexed his toes again, the cold affected him the way way it did at home.

"It is hard. We must all not make a mistake. If one mistake made, then entire village suffers," he said, not at all surprised by the harshness of the conditions he lived in, "I never had dog that was mine. I looked after other dogs. I much want my own qimmiq."

"Well you're still lucky. I never really got to be around them much..." He smiled. Heading up the stairs in the direction he was given he took the stairs carefully not wanting to trip and drop them both on the hard floor. "You're village must be close that everyone has to be so tightly nit like that..." He mused a moment then smiled giving one final jostle as they stood before Wynn's door. "Ah we're here. Um... try getting down slowly please." Nash offered crouching down so the boy could slip off his back.

Wynn thought about that statement for a while. He hadn't ever really taken into account whether or not he was lucky. Not ever, really. Things were the way they were and that was that. Luck and lady fortune were two things that seldom graced Wynn's interpretation of the world and instances around him. However, at that moment in time, away from his home and the icy tundra of Alaska and the many dogs he used to look after...Wynn did feel lucky.

"Yes..." Wynn mused aloud, "Yes, they are."

When Nash paused near his door and lowered himself down on his knees for Wynn to get off, the Inuk slowly loosened his arms from his neck. He felt himself slide off and his cold bare feet touched the flooring as he stood himself up on his own legs. Finally, he was off and standing on his own two legs, and the boy moved to the side, close to his bedroom door so he could get a better look at the farmer boy who took his time giving him a piggy back ride to the other side of the campus. Shuddering, Wynn gave the carrot-topped boy a weary smile, "My thank you," he said, "I would be ice if you didn't carry me."

Nash put up his hands blushing red to his ears. "Oh no it was the right thing to do." He offered, seriously who would just let someone walk barefoot and with barely any fabric on their back to shield from the harsh weather? Sure Wynn came from a cold tundra but that didn't mean he was immune to the harsh climates that swept across his lands. They were dressed smartly up there to protect them from such climate; this he was positive. "Well you better get inside and warm up, take a warm shower while your at it and put some dry cloths on too. I'm sure you current ones are a bit damp." He instructed out of necessity.

Well it seemed there was no reason for him to hover around like a mother hen. It was natural instinct to be concerned for others but at this point Wynn should be able to take care of himself. He moved away from the door a bit giving a soft smile. "I suppose you won't need me anymore so I guess I should be on my way. Um... ah well take care then." He offered. There really was no reason to hang around so he did turn to leave; he had to mail off these letters before he forgot.

Wynn watched as the other boy took his time in detailing a list of things that Wynn should do now that he was back in the safety of his dorm. There was only one person who Wynn remembered that did the same thing and that was Mrs. Bentley from the general store back in his home town. He felt himself smile, warmed by the similar attitudes between her and Nash, and he gave an affirming nod after each listed off item. He was still weary, half numbed by the cold, but he knew well enough that the advice that the other student was giving him was good to follow.

"Thank you, Nash," Wynn repeated again, "Thank you." And it was then that Nash decided to take his leave. Wynn gave a small raise of his hand, his own way of saying goodbye, as the red-headed boy started away. He was so generous, Wynn thought to himself, as he watched the other disappear down the stairs, to carry him out of his way all the way back to his dorm...It was a very selfless thing to do and Wynn couldn't help but feel like he owed something to Nash.

As Wynn opened his dorm door and slipped inside the considerably warmer room, the young, bedraggled, and shivering Inuk promised that one day, he'd make it up to him.

But now it was time for a warm bath.
