Wynn watched as the other boy took his time in detailing a list of things that Wynn should do now that he was back in the safety of his dorm. There was only one person who Wynn remembered that did the same thing and that was Mrs. Bentley from the general store back in his home town. He felt himself smile, warmed by the similar attitudes between her and Nash, and he gave an affirming nod after each listed off item. He was still weary, half numbed by the cold, but he knew well enough that the advice that the other student was giving him was good to follow.
"Thank you, Nash," Wynn repeated again,
"Thank you." And it was then that Nash decided to take his leave. Wynn gave a small raise of his hand, his own way of saying goodbye, as the red-headed boy started away. He was so generous, Wynn thought to himself, as he watched the other disappear down the stairs, to carry him out of his way all the way back to his dorm...It was a very selfless thing to do and Wynn couldn't help but feel like he owed something to Nash.
As Wynn opened his dorm door and slipped inside the considerably warmer room, the young, bedraggled, and shivering Inuk promised that one day, he'd make it up to him.
But now it was time for a warm bath.
