Enzi's heart felt tight as he watched his bonded soar off into the sky in an angry flurry of gray feathers. He was hurt and felt very embarrassed; betrayed, even. But Enzi wasn't one to think truly negative thoughts about someone. Surely Nesibindi had good reasons for saying such rude things...It couldn't have just been the serval's fault. Besides, he had apologized. Nesi was his friend; his companion. She was his hunting-partner, trainer, and advice-giver. He enjoyed her company, however brutish she sometimes came off as. Truth was, she was nice deep down. She had shown that side of her many times to Enzi, probably without her knowing it. It was very hard for the leopon to bear hearing her vent her anger on him, when he had really done nothing wrong; especially to hear her say what he felt she truly thought of him. He looked up to the eagle and respected her, always striving for her acknowledgment.
Trying to hide the hurt in his [removed]('cause that was the worst kind of weakness to show, and Enzi wanted to be strong), the leopon casually turned his head as if to glance over his shoulder, bangs blocking part of his face. He grinned a fake but convincing grin and nodded. "Yeah, she's...Something..." he agreed stiffly. He cleared his throat and answered the next question, eager to end the conversation. "It'd be a good idea to get to know everyone in the pride, uhh..." he paused, pawing at the ground childishly. "before hunting. There are a few others, yeah." he answered. "Nice to meet you, Chache." he said kindly, avoiding the serval's eyes. He glanced back at the sky to where Nesibindi disappeared and the frown was clearly seen on his face. "I'd better...Go talk to Nesi." he said quietly. "See you later. Er, welcome to the pride!" he added.
With that, the leopon turned and walked in the direction Nesibindi had flown in, the kill he had been so proud of long-forgotten.
