Oh god, I asked for the first book last x-mas, right? My older brother got me the whole series. Read 'em a couple moths later, was on the third book when a classmate asked to borrow it. Near the end of the year, I only saw my books between the hands of my classmates. However, this past summer, I have realized (with unending HORROR) how much the book really kinda... sucks. I used to love vampires. I read a couple rants by anti-Twilighters, and stopped to think before I angrily flamed. Then I realized they were TOTALLY RIGHT. I asked one of my friends what the appeal is, and she said it's because in Bella's weaknesses (lolwhut?) we see ourselves.
...Okay. Quite frankly, the 'relationship' (more like relationsh*t) is completely shallow. She goes, "Ooh, pretty!", like most women will do when they see a handsome young male. Noo, then he goes, "Mmm, dinner!" Well, his subconscious does, anyway. And Edward is completely bipolar! "No, stay away, I'm dangerous. Baby, I didn't mean it. Come back to me!" I won't touch on the sparkling. Bella, however, is weak-minded, and weak-willed. Her, ahem, weakness is her inherent clumsiness. She quite a snoot, too. And I'm ranting. Y'all probably don't care what I think anyway. Oh well!

Yeah... Edward's indecisiveness and Bella's attitude are mainly what makes the book look bad in my eyes. And it's not really well written, either. confused

Memetic mutation, anyone? SM tried to give vampires her own personal twist, and (for lack of a better word) failed.
Not to mention that the books read like bad fanfiction...And isn't Bella a super Mary-Sue? Think about it a bit.
Plus, the main characters are strangled by the red string.
YMMV, but the series is horrible. It's got a romance in it that a 10-year-old would find deep. Maybe.
What I'm wondering is who would possibly be drugged up/stupid out of touch with reality enough to make a movie about it.
Not only that, but they gave the Twi-tards their own section at Wal-mart.
The fan-craze that swept through my school made every guy in our school insecure because they didn't match up to this god-like 'Edward' standard that all of the girls who read the books were holding them up to.
Where is the justice?

I have sooooooooooooooooooooo many things that I could say about it, but I start with the vampires.
*eye twitches*
[RANT]remotely astecially pleasing. They would have pale, translucent skin, giant fangs, and would most likely have blue or purple splotches all across their skin, if it wasn't rotting off... Anyway... Vampires are almost always regarded as some of the strongest monsters in pop culture, when in actuality they could easily be taken out by a single traditional imp, hell, even something as harmless to living things as a damned Will-o-the-wisp could kill dozens of vampires just by going into the same room as them because of the light that they emit. What I want to know is how did the vampire go from an undead bloodsucking biiiiitch to some of the strongest things around when ONE damn person forgot about something a limiting as the damn things being weakened by water? It doesn't even have to be holy water, the traditional vampire couldn't fly over water, melted like the Wicked Witch of the West when they came in contact with it and ofter died of starvation beacuse they were supposed to only wake up once a month at the most and all of the nights they were awake were raining. I mean seriously, WHAT THE HELL?!?[/RANT]
I could go on and on with that, I could go on to talk about the story,, but I'll stop there for this post...

Nurse Bettie Why do I hate Twilight? I hate Twilight because it is SO poorly written. Stephanie Meyer is TERRIBLY un-imaginative, and doesn't know the first goddamn thing about Vampire basics, ethics, or terminology, for that matter. Epic f*king FAIL. Also, she graduated from BRIGHAM YOUNG. Enough said. she based it on dream dimwit and i think that these vampire r better than ones that burn in da sun also my mum thinks edward is an emotionally abusive wanker lol

I know twilight,hannah montana, and the jonas brothers are all the idiots at my school ocd over its a bunch of bullshit!!
im all for vampires but twilight just makes em look gay.
thats exactly why i love vampire knight and true blood except for the whole fang thing in true blood.....its like a ******** ejection system its really odd....

the movie was a nightmare.
and i see why people obbsesse over edward because meyer over-did his looks in the book, but still vampires dont sparkle. im tried with the crap of "OMG SPARKLING VAMPIRES"

I used to be so overly obsessed with twilight. Seriously, I had my own team edward shirt and everything, then i got into better stuff about vampires and other things besides vampires and i realized that twilight was another romance except they took the hot guy away and replaced him with a gay obsessive vampire. Bella's a selfish brat, and Jacob needs to learn how to live his own life.
