Freak_090 It's the right to Bear arms. Not, "The right to Attack Beavers". Although you'd have full right to attack them if they had lasers on their heads, no?

Charley liberals LIBERALS LIBERALSLIBERALSLIBERALSNevermind that firearm ownership is a socially liberal concept hey lets s**t this up and talk about LIBERALS. It's liberal in the worldly scheme of things, but here in America, civilian gun ownership is as old as the country, so it's a conservative thing.

Fresnel It's liberal in the worldly scheme of things, but here in America, civilian gun ownership is as old as the country, so it's a conservative thing. That's a pretty hairbrained way of sorting out liberal vs conservative when there are far more established ways of doing so. Gun ownership is a socially liberal concept that's championed by a group of people that incidentally support largely socially conservative areas elsewhere, and vice versa. It's all about power held by the government vs power held by the people. People who use "liberal" like this are doing the discussion a disservice, and honestly alienating people here who are rather liberal and who do enjoy talking, you know, about guns.

I agree with fresnel about gun ownership being a conservitive ideal. It wasn't until the late 1900's that gun ownership started to be frowned upon by larger numbers of people because it was tradition. And because it is a new idea it can't be conservitive, thus it's Liberal and the Liberal croud is the majority in the anti-gun lobby. But, just the same, I agree with you that people shouldn't be going around using Liberal as such a generic term because not all liberals are anti-gun. One of my best friends is a very liberal-minded, yet he loves guns as much any of us.

Oh Fresnel;
They did try banning alcohol, you know the prohibition right? It didn't work out too well and they ended up repealing it.

I never went tipping cows. ... playing Hockey? I think they do that better than most American teams. How about free health care? Oh snap, that epic fails. surprised Best tool to use against a liberal is... drum roll please... fact. With a heavy dose of common sense. I'd like to add ignorance in using the term, "Eh".

OberFeldwebel Oh Fresnel; They did try banning alcohol, you know the prohibition right? It didn't work out too well and they ended up repealing it. And yet alcohol continues to kill, DAILY, nearly ninety years after it was banned. I wonder if they thought that one through either?
